Son's past life actions are interesting

I'd like to share a few of my son's unusual habits I think come from his past lives because they are so interesting. He is currently 27 months old.

The first I noticed, was his fascination with sticks. He always holds them out in front, under his arm, waving it back and forth in front of him. This I believe is the tiller of a large ship (Viking?) with a long extension before the invention of "steering wheels". He gets a look of satisfaction on his face like he's doing a difficult job well. Unfortunately, this life may have been violent. He tends to hurt his older sister with the stick.

Also, he will hold a stick up to his eye as a telescope. He holds one end close to his eye with the other at the far end and sights along it whether or not it has a hole. He never holds it like a tiller then a telescope, they are separate actions. Are they different lives?

Thirdly, my mother has noticed him change suddenly. At a steakhouse, recently, he went from meek to in charge when the waitstaff started to dance.(every half hour they do a line dance to entertain the crowd) He pulled my mom out (like a 6ft cowboy taking out a girl) and began to dance with them, pointing his toes. I can't imagine how cute he must have looked. I think he might have been doing a minuet from a life in Amsterdam in the early 1800's.

Finally, he uses plastic craft scissors as guns(?) holding one in each hand at his hip, then bringing it up and extending his arm.

He does other cute and unusual things that are harder to explain. Every time he is doing this kind of play he is concentrated and focused. Does any one have any ideas what is happening for him? He says few words but understands well. How do I encourage him to remember? What does he need to learn from these experiences?

Hello!

My son is four now, but has done and said some unusual things. I have posted a couple of things in this forum. One thing I did, although it is easier when he started talking more, was to get him to explain what he meant when he'd say, "do you remember when...?". I'd say something like, "Oh, really!? Well, I can't quite remember.. What else did you do?"
I used to let him expressed his own individuality during free play. I'd sit and watch him with his toys and his "imaginary friends".

Keep a diary of the things he does and says. Looking back on mine, I can see that there were things that I had forgotten that connect to things he does now.

Take care,

Karen

I am looking for suggestions as to how to promote these rememberances too. My son talks about his past lives freely, but they are getting less frequent.

He has talked about being my mom's teacher in a one room school house setting. He says that because he was the teacher the school was held in his house. He has never been exposed to this scenario in this present life time. However, before he was born my grandfather use to talk about how he went to these kinds of schools because he grew up in a ranching part of the country. He also pretends to be a teacher a lot.

He also talks about a life where a friend of his went to go pick blueberries. I've forgotten his friends name and I need to ask him about it again so that I can remember to write it down.

A couple of things:

1. If he's really remembering a Viking former life, then it would have to be separate from a life in which he used a telescope. Telescopes did not exist before the Dutchman van Leeuwenhoek discovered how to make lenses in the 17th c.

2. But -- he could be remembering how to steer a small sailing boat, using a tiller. This is a long, lever like thing. I don't know enough of about sailboats to know if under the arm is a way of holding a tiller. However, if it controlled a large sailing boat, such as a coastal waters fishing boat in the early 1800's or before, it sounds reasonable.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been writing down the things he does, maybe when he talks more he will tell me what he's doing.

It seems like these are mostly different lives. I don't think the 'man at the tiller' is the same as 'the man with the telescope'. How many lives is he likely to have???

I know his most recent life was as a crippled boy with polio who lived from 1937-1948. When he had an illness this winter, he just didn't seem to get better. I had a flash of what he was like before with the polio. I tried to reassure him that he was strong and healthy now and would recover quickly. Before that, he was thin and sickly. Now he is robust and active. I took him off cows milk and put him on soy milk and he isn't phlemmy anymore.

I'm surprised that he seems to be male in his past lives. I seem to switch back and forth, though as a male, I'm either a monk or an artisan (and an artisan monk, once)

It's nice to have people to share this with, every one else thinks it's a stick.

Dear Tor,

I doubt there is any way we can truly know how many past lives we've had. After all, our souls are eternal and without limit. How many past lives we can remember is another question. I've remembered bits of about ten different lifetimes. I am sure there are people who have remmebered more than that.

Blessings,

Bob
