Past Life memories and dreams

I have never had a previous life memory. I have had lucid dreams and travelled, but what happened the night before last night was neither. It was a good old fashioned dream.
I'm flying a one seater aeroplane with a propeller I look out to my left and see a blue coloured wing with a star emblem at the end.. Being Australian the emblem has no significance to me. I know the Russians and Americans and some other countries use various types of star emblems on there aeroplanes.
I have no concerns I'm just flying along. I don't remember seeing any other aeroplanes
Then all of a sudden a section of the windshield shatters. This is the part I do not understand. Wouldn't aeroplanes have shatterproof glass ?
At the same moment I felt a sharp pain on my left side I looked down a blood was oozing down from my left shoulder region
I was wearing a brownish coloured top and pants made of light material. It may have been all one and not separate garments
I was also wearing one of those yellow canvas things the pilots wore for emergencies. I have seen photos of pilots wearing those canvas survival garments
I know the aeroplane is in trouble even though I cannot remember anything being wrong
I looked down again and the top part of what I was wearing was saturated with blood.
I knew I have to land. The funny thing is, I never thought of jumping out.
I looked down at what I was flying over and it was all undergrowth. There was no clear paddocks to land on.
Then I looked well ahead and to my left, I saw a river
That was the safest place to land
The next thing I know I'm about to land on the river The aeroplane hit the water with a huge bang and bump. Water sprayed up everywhere. the cockpit was open and I was drenched with water. The aeroplane came to and abrupt stop
I was screaming at the top of my voice get out Billy get out Billy
It is interesting I called out Billy because that is the name I have called my pure self for years
I tied to pull myself out of the cockpit seat, but metal from the aeroplane has pinned me to the seat
I was ripping and ripping at the metal to get it off me, my hands were cut to ribbons and blood was all over the inside of the aeroplane. The plane slowly sank with me screaming blue murder. I can still see the brown coloured water after I was fully immersed
After I woke up and I was fully awake my sheets felt like metal
It felt like I was still in the aeroplane . I even rubbed a piece of the sheet between my figures to stop it but it felt like metal
I was terrified
I have always been a little sceptical of these dreams being called previous life memories
It is more than likely I have seen a movie at some time or another with this in it and it stuck in my sub consciousness
How do you guys know the difference?

In my experience, notice I said My experience, its different for everybody I suppose, I noticed myself having recurring dreams. They were always centered around this man that I would go around with in his life, sometimes third person, sometimes in first. It got so I would dream about him every night. It started to freak me out when, for example, if he got shot I would be aching all the next day. I started researching dreams and meaning and all sorts of things. Finally I hit on past lives and started researching the man's life. Miraculously I found his/my wife in this life. We shared details and discovered that what I had dreamt had happened. This all happened over the course of several years so it may be a long road to discovery or it may be nothing at all. You just have to wait and see.

It's not always easy to tell the difference! From what I've come across in people's accounts, the markers of a 'past life' dream, as opposed to a regular dream, is the amount of emotional attachment / involvement with it, the clarity of the dream and the fact that it is remembered afterwards. For some reason, people seem to be able to remember them better and they are a lot clearer and more detailed than regular dreams.

Sure, maybe you did see a movie about this and it's just a regular dream. But the way you describe it sounds particularly rich in detail.

Have you ever felt any kind of affinity with flying, airplanes, etc since childhood? As a little boy, were you fascinated by flying? Did anything about the dream 'feel' familiar to you in any way?

Well, yep that's the other method! Verifications that confirm what you've seen in a dream are pretty compelling evidence.

I had this dream again last night. It spooked me even more than last time.. What does that mean?

I have never had any thoughts about planes one way or the other

The only thing that has happened all of my life and I still do it to this day...If I'm driving along and I drive through smoke as we all do from time to time I always say to myself zero niner one or two zero niner or zero zero niner, all different except niner is always in it. I'm aware they could be calls from an aeroplane, but niner is always in it I have done that all of my life

You are correct about them being calls from an airplane. This could be a pilot giving his number. "091", "209", "009". It might be the number of the plane, number of the pilot, compass heading, etc. If there are any pilots here they could shed more light on this. Now if you can remember anything about the plane that would help pinpoint the time period such as WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, etc. Sounds like you were English speaking, that's a big clue.

Here is some more information:

Hi Argonne1918

I was born in late 1944

The only clear memories I have of the aeroplane was the blue wing the star emblem at the end of the left wing and it was powered by a propeller. In the dream when I was trapped in the cockpit I can remember there were numerous levers on my left and right some of which were also trapping me. They were attached to the metal and that is why I was ripping at the metal

The last thing I want is to appear a little nuts about all of this.

But what also happens after I say to myself those numbers after driving through the smoke in my car I ramble on to myself and say things like zero six niner two zero one on alpha bravo one four. Again I don't want to appear nuts but those are the things I say which may have some relevance

You are not nuts. This could be early in the War, 1942 maybe. At the beginning of the War the emblem on American military planes was a circle with a star in it. Because of confusion with the Japanese "Rising Sun" "Meatball" red circle it was modified in 1943 or 44 by adding the chevron wings to the circle. Now to find a picture of the cockpit. There were fewer types of planes at the beginning so that will narrow down the search.

Airplane radio information. This is mostly for modern times but it gives you the idea of what it sounds like and means. "Universal Coordinated Time" is what they now call GMT or Greenwich time.

I just re-read your original post here. Shatterproof glass did not exist in the early days. Sounds like you were shot. By another plane?

So your uniform was brown and not blue. Yellow canvas- parachute? Life jacket? But you didn't jump. Maybe because you couldn't get out of the plane?

Did you open the cockpit canopy or was it an open cockpit plane? If it was an

open cockpit plane then we may be talking about WWI here and not WWII. Or maybe it was a "float plane" used for scouting. These were small planes launched from ships like destroyers, battleships, etc., but not aircraft carriers. You said there were no other planes around, at least none that you could see. That may be why you were so surprised when you were shot. You were not expecting it. Or maybe you were hit by anti aircraft fire from the ground or a ship. The damage to the plane sounds like it was caused by a large shell.

I hate to tell you this but you have perfectly described a past life memory. If this was a movie that you saw you would not remember this much detail or emotion. So now we know that in your last life you were a pilot named "Bill" who was shot down between May, 1942 and September, 1943 and drowned when the plane crashed in a river. I think you should start researching WWII battles in the Pacific. You may even find of picture of your previous self that looks very similar to your current face.

John, I find it interesting that you are Australian in the current life. Have you ever heard of the "Battle of Guadalcanal"? It was close to Australia. It was one of the first WWII battles in the Pacific. The Americans were not ready to fight yet, but the Japanese were getting ready to attack Australia. This battle is the reason the Americans, Australians, and New Zealanders are such close friends today. I think you should research the "Battle of Guadalcanal". Look at the maps and pictures and see if any of it seems familiar to you.

John, your past life memories make perfect sense now. This is what I think happened. You were an American Navy pilot flying a float plane in the early days of World War II. In the early days of the war none of the ships had radar yet. They depended on airplanes to be their eyes. Aircraft carriers didn't need float planes. But battleships and cruisers did. You were directing gun fire at enemy ships, that what's the numbers you were saying mean. The enemy ships knew exactly what you were doing. They put up a "smoke screen" to keep you from seeing them, that was the smoke you were flying through. They were also shooting at you. One of them got a lucky shot and wounded you. You didn't say anything about the plane being on fire, so I think it was mainly that you needed to get down in a hurry before you passed out from loss of blood. No need to parachute when the plane has a float and can land in the water. You spotted a river and landed in the water. Then you hit a submerged rock which either damages the float and/or flips the plane over. You are unable to get out of the plane because of damage to both you and the plane.

John, one more thing. I have seen most movies about WWII and don't remember anything that remotely sounds like what you have described. You described the color of various things such as the wing and emblem and your uniform or flight suit. Most movies about WWII are black and white. You know details that are not in any movies. You described what you felt when you were drowning. That is not in any movie. How old were you when you started having these memories?

Hi Argonne 1918

Thanks for all of your interest and work. It is very kind of you.

I have spent hours this morning going through what you offered.

Firstly the white star in the blue circle is most familiar to me

With the cockpits I studied all of the single seater cockpits carefully What I was looking for were the levers especially down the left hand side of the cockpit. None felt right but the one I felt most familiar with was the Grumman F8F. It was not right but it felt the most familiar

So I searched all Grumman WW11 aircraft and came across the F6F Hellcat. This may not be the correct plane but it felt right. The feelings when I looked at photo's of the cockpit were much the same as when I looked at a restored car the type I drove as a teenager. When I looked at the dashboard it bought back the memories of driving the car. The levers on the left hand side of the cockpit seemed right. Because many cockpit layouts would be much the same I cannot say with any certainty this is the right plane. But it felt right

It was not an open cockpit. The top hatch was open

The radio calls did not mean a lot to me. That is very frustrating because they should have

I did not relate to the float planes, but that does not mean a lot. As you are aware it's very difficult to pinpoint some things

Although the Hellcat does feel familiar to me

I'm from a generation of Australians who were told by our grandparents and parents to never forget that the Americans save us at Guadalcanal

I will search in depth the Pacific battles of WW11 and post again

I had the first dream about this last week. The smoke thing has gone for most of my life.

Since this happened last week I have recalled a reoccurring dream I had as a young child. I was lying on the deck of a big ship with some other guys laughing and joking as we enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine

You know if this is true then there is no honour in war. If it is true I did not die a hero, I died in a plane covered in blood screaming for my life There is no honour in that.

And here is the official Navy Training film for Hellcat pilots. This shows you what all of those levers were for. See if this brings back memories.

Sounds like a past life memory to me John. They say 'niner' on the radio so it can't be confused with 'five' which can happen if the radio is crackly or distorted. Same with the phonetic alphabet - alpha, bravo, charlie, etc. are all very distinct words that can be deciphered even if the radio signal is poor. The numbers could be latitude and longitude perhaps? Do they tend to be in pairs? If so, they would represent degrees, minutes and seconds. This would fit with argonne's idea that you were flying a spotter plane.

...For precision purposes, degrees of longitude and latitude have been divided into minutes (') and seconds ("). There are 60 minutes in each degree. Each minute is divided into 60 seconds. Seconds can be further divided into tenths, hundredths, or even thousandths.
Have you tried searching for a uniform that looks like your dream. For instance, I found this. Does it look familiar?

nored05.jpg

No, there is no honour in war. Never has been. :(

If you were a Hellcat pilot your date of death would have been after September, 1943. And you say you were born in late 1944 in the current life? Wow, you came back really, really fast. It does happen, especially if you have a lot of unfinished business. Have you compared the cockpits of the Hellcat vs. the earlier F4F Wildcat? The Wildcat was slower than the Zero and many were shot down. The F6F Hellcat had a bigger engine.

Argonne1918 and tanquera thanks for you replies

I went and looked at the restored Hellcat. If you look at photo's 7 and 8 the flight suit that is worn is exactly as I described in my initial post. I have to say that did shock me a little

When you talk about the cockpits of the Hellcat and the Wildcat. I honestly have no idea. Both look good especially with the levers on the left side of both cockpits. How could I ever know which one is right?

Argonne 1918 you must have been right about it being more than a bullet that hit the plane if it was a Hellcat. Reading the site you sent me to it said the Hellcat had a shatterproof windscreen fitted to it it. This may also mean it was a Wildcat Again how could we know?

I don't know if I want to find out to much about who I may have been last time. My pure self who I have always called Billy which interestingly is the same name I called out to get out of the plane is with me

Is there any advantage for me in searching for the physical me last time?

Some people find doing historical validations very interesting and somehow very satisfying. To them it is proof that they are not crazy and not making it up. If that is less important to you, there's no need to do a whole lot of research.

However, I would say, that from what has already been checked for accuracy, that this dream you've had and other related experiences are very strong indicators that this is a past life memory you are experiencing.

'Billy' might have been a co-pilot you were calling out to. It might have been your name in the previous life. It might also be how you think of your 'pure self'. It might be all three.

I thought about that also. Some of the planes had a rear gunner/radio man. They used morse code radios. But I think the Wildcat and Hellcat just had the pilot.

I'm looking as best as I can to find who I may have been. I looked at the lists suggest and there was nothing there

There appears to be no lists with full names. I'm looking for William and Bill is that the wrong way to go about it? The only good list I have found is US Navy Pilot aces in WW11. There were a couple of William's there but nothing to get excited about. It is really hard to find lists of names of US WW11 navy pilots especially those killed in action or missing in action Can anyone help?

This is the hard part. I doubt anyone has put together a central list of all the names killed in a particular battle. But there are exceptions. Memorials like the Viet Nam War "wall" have all of the military names connected with that. But trying to find a certain "Bill" killed in a certain battle in the Pacific flying a certain plane is much more difficult. But there are ways. Try meditating or doing self hypnosis. Or ask yourself questions and see what pops into your head. What you need to find out next is if you flew off a ship. If so then what was the name of the ship? Have you read the book called "Soul Survivor" by Andrea and Bruce Leninger? Their son James was having nightmares at age 3 about flying a plane that was shot down and he was trapped inside like you. They asked him questions including "What was the name of your boat?" He then said "Natoma". His dad searched the internet and up pops "USS Natoma Bay". It was an aircraft carrier in WWII in the Pacific. The boy said his name was "James". Later his dad was looking through a book about WWII battles in the Pacific. On one page there was an aerial photo of the island of Iwo Jima. The boy saw the picture and said "That's where I died." The dad did more research and learned that the Natoma Bay took part in the Battle of Iwo Jima and only one of it's planes was shot down there. The pilots name was James Huston. The dad contacted the Natoma Bay Veterans group. They told him to bring his son to their next reunion. At the reunion he recognized some of the veterans by their voices and remembered their names. They were shocked. There is much more in the book. Many of us here read the book in less than 48 hours when it first came out a few years ago. There is also a short video about the boy here in the video archives section.
