My granddaughter is my mother?

I have a beautiful little 3 year old granddaughter with whom I am very close. I have other grandchildren, boys and girls both, but none have a bond as close as this little one and myself. She immediately took to me as an infant even though I did not see her regularly. I would be so pleased when she would come to me so easily and sit quietly with me. When she was still in diapers and just beginning to speak, I had the delicate opportunity to change her diaper. While I was doing this, she looked directly into my eyes and said, "I'm your Mum." It startled me a bit. I began to wonder if there was a possibility that she could be my own deceased mother, whom I loved so dearly and still miss to this day. My mother was also my best friend and my partner in so many things, including the raising of my children. This little granddaughter and I share a bonding somewhat similar to my mother and myself. I really don't know how it began. I have other grandchildren whom I see on a regular basis but none have this same feeling. Recently, my son, her father and his wife, bought a house directly across the street from where I grew up. The house they purchased was from a dear friend of my mother's. It was ironic, how they chose this house to buy. They had been looking for a house for two years. They had put offers on other houses but nothing worked out for them. This beautiful bungalow was practically handed to them. Now today as I sat in the living room of that house with this little granddaughter, I pointed out the window to my old home and explained to her that I had lived there when I was a little girl and pointed out my bedroom window to her. She replied that her daddy lived there. I told her he had when he was a baby. She told me that she lived there too. I laughed and told her that she couldn't have because her daddy was just a little baby when we lived there. She insisted that she did. She emphatically said, "I was the Mommy." I told her she wasn't and she repeated several times, matter of factly, that 'she was the mommy'. My son overheard her and asked her, "If you were the Mommy, who was the Daddy?" She replied, "Nobody!" This was, in fact, true, because only my mother, my sister and I lived there for several years. My mother was divorced at that time and we rarely saw our father. Never in that house anyway. Now we are wondering if my granddaughter could very well be my mother. Do parted souls look for family to be near? Is there anything that we should do?

Well!!...I'm convinced :) This is one of the sweetest and interesting case for family reincarnation that I have been lucky enough to hear. Thanks for sharing this ladyrose:thumbsup:

Welcome to the forum ladyrose,

It sounds like you have a very special relationship with your granddaughter. :)

You may want to read the thread The Four Signs of Children's Past Life Memory

There is also a wonderful thread on talking with children about their past lives.

Do parted souls look for family to be near?

In some instances, yes they do. I'd recommend reading Carol Bowman's books Children's Past Lives and Return from Heaven. Return from Heaven is an excellent book about same family reincarnation.

I'd also recommend starting a journal for your granddaughter -- and writing down all of the things she has said or done that may indicate she may be your mum. My grandma did that for me when I was small -- and it was like a special gift from her to me.

What a blessing it would be to have your mum back in your family again. :) Please keep us posted.

Welcome to the forum Ladyrose,

I hope you take the time to read Carol's book Return From Heaven; it is full of same family reincarnation cases. and an enlightening and enjoyable read. :)

I know how you feel. I am currently watching my newest grandson -who-(and only time will tell) may possibly be my daughters mother-in-law. The one thing that you can be sure of regarding past lives, the information never comes all at once, it's a process of unveiling, witnessing and recording.

Wishing you the best............

Hi Ladyrose, What a great story. I'm not an expert but I was discouraged from remembering a past life as a child. Probably the best thing you can do when she brings up this subject is to treat it as matter-of-factly as you can, as if it is perfectly natural for the child to be your beloved mother. It probably is.

You don't need to pressure her but when she brings it up, why not encourage her. Who knows what valuable information she might be able to share with you.

If you look around this site you will find other posts on family members returning to the same family and also lots of other good stuff. Best wishes.

Hi Ladyrose.

I very much believe we can come back within the same family. My youngest sister and I share a few of our pasts. I wouldn't doubt if my mother and I have as well. I'd like to share a story with you about my youngest son that may help you understand.

My family and I believe that my youngest son is my Great Great Grandfather, Clyde. I'll sum it up quickly for you. When Clyde died; he used to visit my grandmother in spirit. (My grandma was Clydes Granddaughter) While visiting her, he used to say how much he wanted them to be together again and the last time she saw him, he said something like "We will see eachother again" or "We will be together again." (sorry, my memory is fuzzy, i think I'm getting tired.) N-Eway, when Cohl (my youngest) was about 6-8 months old, he noticed a picture above a bed in my parents guest room. The picture was of Clyde and his wife Nelly. Needless to say, he was excstatic over seeing Nelly! He kept jumping up and down and saying her name. Months later to almost a year later if I'm not mistaken; He saw the pic again and when we asked who they were, he said, "Nelly & Clyde! Clyde's me!" and started laughing. My mother and I weren't to sure of the names so we inquired of my granda who indeed confirmed their names to be Nelly and Clyde!!

If I were you, I wouldn't bring up things out of the blue to your granddaughter however you could ask misc. questions without her knowing you are testing what she says. Think of something specific that only you and your mother would know. See if she correctly answers.

Word to the wise though. Even if she is your mother reincarnated, it does not mean that she will remember everything and it does not mean that things will always flow freely from her little mind. Often, the words just flow when they feel like doing so. Don't get discouraged. It's all by chance to hear what she may remember.

Be patient. It seems to me that she wanted to let you know this so maybe, with time, more will flow.

Good luck!! :D

Hello Ladyrose and welcome to the forum! :)

Others have already given you good advice, so I just encourage you to read discussions on this forum (especially this section) and the recommended book of Carol Bowman.

I hope you enjoy and keep us posted on what your granddaughter might share later on!

I have three reactions.

1. It sounds very possible.

2. Do not tell the child it is impossible -- do not discount her memories.

2. Get it all on tape!
