Life Purpose?

Usetawuz is so right! When you are being prodded in a certain direction, it is unwise to resist. The effect reminds me of the monsoon season - the flood will come and wash away everything in it's path. There will be a certain purity, and growth, but it is far better to initiate the change on your own, before Shiva the Destroyer rips it away for you!

Yes ceridwen I do believe everything we do serves a purpose to an ultimate goal. We have to learn.

Also yes, you can only listen to yourself, not others, however well meaning. Spent the best part of twenty years in jobs most of society would think for the best.

If I'd listened to others I'd not live in a house that needs a fortune spending on it after decades of being a holiday home. At least I think it's good fun, if nobody else does.

Can the thing that you feel guiding you be solely the hand of an unseen master? Or could it be an alignment of an inside energy source organized by an unseen drive or leftover past-life decision?

Compromising for the thoughts or hunches you have a feeling for to go in a particular direction can be disastrous, it seems, and many folks seem to agree. Is that so? Most of you all have indicated so

It may indeed be a need for an inner alignment, Kliewer. None of us really knows. The important thing seems to be to heed the "inner voice", no matter what the source.

That's an interesting thought - that we can change our "purpose". It might shift naturally, as one lesson is learned, and our soul grows. I wonder if a soul ever says, "Well, I learned what I came here for. Time to pack up my tent, and move on!"
I've actually read where that is true. That some souls come for one particular purpose and when that purpose is met, they're done. Sometimes when you see a young person dying and think what a shame - it may very well be that they have already accomplished what they came here for. Or, it might be the exact reason they came here.

I've heard that in the case of a young life ending, the soul may have come to earth for the benefit of those around them. Along the same line of thought, perhaps those with really long lives have multiple, or complex "purposes".

I have heard that a lot. There was a local case here about 30 years ago where an 8th grade student brought a gun to school hidden in a backpack and then committed suicide after school in a classroom. He was an honors math student in a magnet GATE school. Several years later I asked a trusted psychic what the reason was for the suicide. He replied it was to teach the parents a karmic lesson. That was his only purpose in this life and had been planned before his birth. The psychic said the boy indicated from where he was on the other side that he was quite pleased with the aftermath results. He also said that in his last previous life he was a German rocket scientist during WWII. He was killed when a V-2 rocket blew up on the launching pad.

...and the update (for anyone who was wondering) I'm going home soon now. :D . I've had the Exchange of Contracts on both houses (ie the one I am selling and the one I am buying) and it's going to be any day now:jump:

Nervous or what about launching myself into the blue like this!!! - as, in this lifetime, its all new territory to me and a break right out of my comfort zoneOMG. But these people are more like me and this countryside is more like me and I'm sorta excited...whilst sorta scared. Hmmm...it would help a lot if I actually remembered the blinkin' life or lives during which I'm pretty darn sure I must of lived in that area beforecover face.

But my memory for earlier in this current life is so bad that I guess its no surprise that I only get the odd few "it feels familiar" vibes about things (rather than actually getting any memories as such).

I've been incredibly embarrassed for quite some time about just how few memories I have for earlier in this current life - so I must cut myself a bit of slack here about not having any past life memories. If I cant remember anything very much for over 40 years ago...then just why would I expect to remember something from 400 years ago (or whenever it was that I was, presumably, there before).

I'm always interested in your life, Ceridwen, maybe partially because that was my name once. "Congratulations" seems too small a word for your long awaited move. Perhaps, when you are living there, a gateway to your memories will open. I'm truly happy for you!

Hi ceridiwen & well done. Sorry if i'm a bit late in replying you are more than likely sorting through boxes, wondering how you've accumulated so much stuff!

One thing I didn't know your lack of memories and think it's great you still have a strong belief. For me it was the opposite, strong memories ut no idea what they meant.

I do hope if you are where you are meant to be it will kick start. I'm pretty sure I lived in the village I now live in in a previous life, and the one I grew up in. It was by pure fate we ended up moving here as well.

I'd love to know where in Wales you've moved to, part of my family are from north wales.

Another thing, I'm not sure of your age. Cheeky thing to ask! There's a astrogical move that goes through everyones chart sometime from late thirties to mid forties. Astrologers explain this as our mid life crisis. Basically it makes you take a look at your life and if it's not going as you want a chance to change. I left my job and moved. It took a while to sort out what I really wanted to do but sticking with it is definately a better direction.

Good luck and keep us informed:D
