My last life I was my Great Uncle, killed in action flying to Germany in Lancaster bomber in August 1943. I started to research his story two years ago. The initial work was online research and I found myself gripped in such a way I had not felt with anyone else in my family tree research.
When lockdowns had eased I was able to visit the airbase he took off from and the feelings I had were indescribable. The sense of being there before, though at this point I had not joined the dots so to speak. Following this I visited as many places he was based, the feelings and emotions consumed me, absolutely grief like I had never felt. September 2022 I stood and watched the Battle of Britain Lancaster taxi then take off. I wanted to scream "Don't go" as it moved, my whole body felt pained and to anyone else, these emotions would be viewed as being a little irrational.
I felt a connection to him like he was almost my twin, hard to describe. I visited the church he would have gone to outside the base, my relatives were very devout church goers. I don't do churches, I have absolute respect for other peoples spirituality but never felt comfortable sitting in an place of worship. This church, I did not want to leave and felt that I had worshipped there before, so at peace I have since sponsored part of the stained glass window dedicated to his squadron.
I had only ever seen one photo of him, we looked similar. The teeth and smile as almost the same but then I was given two new photos that belonged to my Uncle, that had his handwriting on the back and taken in 1941. I just knew I had held them before, again not sure of the connection. It was a thunderbolt moment. I scanned them and compared them to my own pictures, I looked a lot like him more as a child than as an adult (I am female). When I was growing up I was obsessed with writing a curly capital "E", just like he had.
I had some past life work and Akashic records read, even through these sessions I was convinced it was someone my Great Uncle flew with or even a friend, not him. The sessions are all on video thankfully as what was said blew me away, his age, his background and details I knew that the therapist did not.
I was told his story, how he died (I had a strawberry mark on my leg when I was born in the same place he took the hit when the plane got shot down) and that he did not want to fly as he knew he was not coming home. He was scared when he got on the plane, he cried quietly as he did not want to go on this sortie. I felt all that when I watched the Lancaster in September, almost panic stricken.
The lady who I did the work with asked me after if I had any connection with the RAF now as she was sensing it. Rather matter factly I told her about my Great Uncle, I did not believe I was him. I then showed her a photo of him, she went pale and in silence. She said that is him, who she had seen in her work. Neither of us spoke for a few moments. She asked if I had freckles, which I did as a child, she said these were from being burned as the plane was hit.
I loved my Nanna, his sister but adored even more his other sister, my Great Aunt. I often wonder if he came back via me to be close to them again as Nanna & my Great Aunt were so close all their lives. He was 21 when he died, Nanna was 24, my Great Aunt was 16 years old.
These sessions helped me a lot as the feelings/emotions were consuming me. They answered questions and helped me start to read up again on WWII as after the session I could not look at anything related to that time. I had always been obsessed with 1920s, 30s and early WWII history. Strangely enough, anything later WWII I could not relate to.
