.....I have the custom of lying in bed until I am almost asleep, at which point I direct my mind to
something in particular. Sometimes when I do this, I see clear images which presumably refer to
whatever or whomever I've directed my mind towards. When I used this method to think about a
past life, I obtained a number of images which described a man who lived in the 19th century,
probably in the U.S.
.....As a very young man, he wore a uniform that was all black, and included a large black hat. As
a man perhaps in his thirties, he did not wear a uniform and had a full beard. At this age he was
involved along with some other men in exploring a rugged, mountainous area. As a man
perhaps 50 or 60 years of age, he wore pin striped pants, and had a long mustache that
was probably waxed on the ends, and a trimmed chin beard. . At this time he was
living in the age when railroads crossed the land, but automobiles were not seen.
Also at this age he donned his old uniform, apparently as part of a get-together
in which he was honored for his past service in whatever organization he had belonged to.
The uniform was all black. It included a black overcoat. I saw nothing in the way of insignia
or brass buttons or anything of that sort. It was a nice looking
uniform but I think it was probably a field uniform, not a dress uniform.
The most distinctive part of the uniform was the very large black hat. It had a very
wide brim which was rigid and horizontal, it was not floppy or turned up or down. The crown of the hat was high and the sides of the crown were straight up, making a right angle with the brim. The top of the crown
was flat, not peaked. If seen from above, the top of the crown would have been oval in shape,
not circular.
.....I have used the internet to look at uniforms and hats, but have not found anything similar
to what I saw in the images. Perhaps someone can suggest the best way to research
uniforms. Naturally I am interested to find out if the uniform I saw in the images really existed.
I would say that the period in which the young man was wearing the uniform would have
been the early 1800s, or possibly the late 1700s.
