Family-related questions and thoughts

I’m starting this thread because when it comes to my WWII self’s childhood memories, which have been coming up more than adult ones nowadays, I noticed a pattern.

First of all, even during the Great Depression, we were incredibly wealthy. What we had was enough to visit different parts of Europe, North America and even Asia. We had big houses, multiple servants and really expensive clothes. This isn’t common back in the day, or it doesn’t seem to be. What kind of families would be this wealthy then, especially for German families? Conglomerates? Nobility(not necessarily high-ranking)?

Another pattern is that quite a lot of my under 10 memories were in Eastern Europe. Not only that but I was fluent in Russian even at a very young age and some of my relatives spoke them. I seemed to have relatives who lived in Liepaja at least during my childhood, and I would visit them every now and then. There’s a chance they could’ve been forced to move because of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact though.

Considering this was an under 10 memory aka they’re not my step family since this was before my parents divorced, we were actually family. I resembled said relatives too, especially an aunt.

Before even looking for my adult self, I decided to take a step back and investigate more on my biological family first. Maybe my father’s side could have a hint. I took a long break but I’m getting interested once again.

Ps. Feel free to change the name of this thread, I’m not too sure what’s an appropriate name for this.

I think a huge hint would be the school I went to. It was a German-based private school for seemingly wealthy people. Where it was exactly is unknown for now, though. The weather there’s incredibly depressing. It appears like the monsoon season some Asian countries experience in terms of sky but it was snowing.

The school building appeared like an old wooden manor with a courtyard in the middle. Darmstadt would be the first place I would look into but it doesn’t seem to resemble the architecture there.

Bellona,

I kinda told you I suspected who you were based on your memories and our shared connections.

I believe I have disputed this for these reasons:

1. I was born after WWI, so 1918 at the earliest(but I believe it was 1919). I was young enough to be part of the HJ during my teenage years.
2. I did not look like him.
3. I was primarily from Darmstadt.
4. After the war, I lived in the US and raised my children there.

With that said, there were a few similarities like what he did when the war was ending so I guess that’s partly where you got it from. It’s just that the more important traits didn’t align.

I was procrastinating on posting this but now that I have the chance, I shall.

From the new memories, I am beginning to understand why my pl self’s hatred towards the Soviet Union was stronger compared to that towards the Jews. To him, acting nasty towards the Jews was merely participating in a trend and he didn’t have much ill will towards them in reality.

However, the Soviet Union messed his family up in some way. I’d rather not go into too many details because they’re personal but his family faced losses in Eastern Europe. They lost some properties and some of his relatives had to move out of their homes purely because they were ethnic German.

He wasn’t affected directly(apart from losing some vacation accommodations) but he was a huge family man and cared a lot about his relatives, at least those he knew. He saw them suffer thanks to the Soviets.

Hi Bellona,

I am very interested in the feelings, emotions, any visual descriptions of what your experiencing. Do you have any childhood journals?

Are your experiences via dreams, regressions? Meditations?

I have kept records of most of my memories in a memo, since I was about 13. That’s when they started. However, with the more recent memories, I began to notice that I did have remorse with regards to what I did. I was begging my colleagues to not participate in the killings of innocent people(while drunk), confessed to my wife about what I’ve done and even wanted to leave those sites.

The will to not get involved appeared since the beginning but I thought it was because I didn’t want to do dirty work. At the same time, I couldn’t resist outright because I was scared for my own safety and that of my family. With that said, when it came to political opponents and communists, I had no remorse. I hated them with a burning passion.

My experiences were a mixture, both dreams and regressions. The most vivid tend to be fever dreams but I haven’t been sick in 2-3 years.

I shall leave this here for future reference. I don’t think I was born in Darmstadt, although I identify with that city a lot. Is there a way to see these men’s faces?
Hi Bellona,

When I click the link there is a plea for funds. When I hit the "X" on that, I see the face of an "Otto Rasch"-- with the title: "80 years on: The true faces of the Babyn Yar Murders are being revealed"--

So, perhaps there was a different group at that link before.

3. I was primarily from Darmstadt.

Look who else was born in Darmstadt too. Werner Best. You have told me many times you were closely associated with both Heydrich and me, so that doesn't really leave a lot of options for you. You weren't a nobody with Heydrich, you were a SOMEBODY.

Wikipedia said:
Werner Best was born on 10 July 1903 in Darmstadt, Hesse, but his parents moved to Dortmund when he was nine before settling in Mainz, where he completed his education. His father was a postmaster who was killed in France at the outset of World War I. In his younger years, Best founded the German National Youth League and joined the National People's Party of Mainz. Between 1921 and 1925, he studied law at Frankfurt, Freiburg, Giessen, and the University of Heidelberg, where in 1927, he obtained his doctorate.

For living in the US post-war, not many ex-Nazis fled to the US. Most were taken in by the West German government after denazification proceedings.

I thought many of them flew to Argentina and especially to Paraguay, where dictator Stroessner ruled - himself a son of a German immigrant and a local Indian woman.

IMHO.

The donations were there because of the current situation. Otto Rasch was involved in Babi Yar, no?

Anyway, I’m starting to believe that I could be dealing with a case of simultaneous lives in this particular era. The memories on their own make sense but if put together, they’re beginning to not make sense. Different places, all under the guise of one person. I’m facing a blockage.

With regards to the interactions with figures such as Heydrich and quite potentially even Schellenberg and Müller, they could be Werner Best’s memories. I’m more open because we seem to have a lot more in common. I followed the Einsatzgruppen but I was never the one directly doing the killings. I was there to supervise and make sure the deeds were done. I was an officer. Best also sabotaged some Nazi plans and I didn’t fully agree with their ideas either. I’ll do further research on him, though.

I have quite a lot of memories in the US both pre-war and post-war as well, though it could be a different life. The flags were literally everywhere. I seemed to have led a peaceful life, enough that I could just have children with no worries. That’s potentially who the strawberry blond haired man could truly be, no links to anyone significant.

One thing I’m certain of is that I had no desire to flee to South America because I knew that we could easily be found since there were many people going there. What happened to figures like Eichmann and Cukurs pretty much proved my point of not going there.

Hi Bellona,

Are you sure the U.S. memories are not related to WWI or possibly the Spanish American War? How are you able to pin the "blond haired man" to the WWII era? Americans used to be very patriotic people--especially during wartime. Also, memories of seeing flags everywhere could also relate to national patriotic holidays in the U.S. as flying flags used to be very common, especially on such occasions. So, seeing flags everywhere really doesn't establish a timeline.

It wasn’t that old, the TV looked to be something from the 50s or 60s but I’m beginning to believe that I was potentially born later than the 20s in that life. It was relatively peaceful, or at least where I was. It was a coloured TV. I spoke in that typical transatlantic accent. He existed during the WWII era, but potentially wasn’t that directly involved.

Yes, many of them did, but too, others also fled to West Germany and joined governments and local governments for one. Take a read of this here

"In 1957, 77% of the ministry's senior officials were former Nazis.." https://www.businessinsider.com/for...-germany-post-world-war-ii-government-2016-10

Bellona, also remember I showed you some photographs from the Island of Sylt, in Northern Germany and you said that they looked familiar to you. These were the following:

Photograph #1: The first photograph was the Parliament building in Schleswig-Holstein. In 1962, Reinefarth had been elected to the parliament there.

Photograph #3: The interior of the Rathaus on Sylt. Since Reinefarth was mayor/Bürgermeister there he would have attended meetings there.

However, you said you were at Nuremberg Trials:

Wikipedia said:
After the war, Best testified as a witness at the Nuremberg Trial of the Major War Criminals, during which he attempted to present the Gestapo as a harmless state organization that was subordinated to state leaders and was nearly undifferentiated from Germany's criminal police.

....In 1948, Best was sentenced to death by a Danish court, but his sentence was reduced to 12 years on appeal. Best was released in 1951 as part of a Danish amnesty program for Nazi war criminals. In 1958 Best was fined 70,000 marks by a Berlin de-Nazification court for his actions as an SS officer during the war. In March 1969, Best was held in detention and in February 1972 he was charged again, when further war crimes allegations arose, but he was released in August 1972 on grounds that he was medically unfit to stand trial. After that, Best was part of a network that helped former Nazis and spent his time "campaigning for a general amnesty". He died in Mülheim, North Rhine-Westphalia, on 23 June 1989.

Best was loyal to Heydrich, and wouldn't have had any involvement in his death (you and I both know the truth, don't we?). Also, Reinefarth was Police Commander for the Protektorate for Böhmen und Mähren, which is one person who would have definitely known about Heydrich's attack and subsequent murder by the Germans. Don't make me note what you said about having a role in his death too...

Also, Reinefarth was 'useful' a witness at Nuremberg Trials too...

After World War II, the Polish authorities demanded his extradition. However, the British and American authorities of occupied Germany decided that Reinefarth could be useful as a witness at the Nuremberg Trial. After the trials, he was arrested for war crimes, but the local court in Hamburg released him shortly afterwards on the grounds of lack of evidence. West German courts ruled that depositions were not sufficient to secure his conviction, and also, that genocide was not in the criminal code of Nazi Germany and therefore would not be applied retroactively.

Also, Reinefarth's wife was named 'Adelheid'... Still got the 'el' sound like Mel.....

Also, one more thing: Reinefarth was involved with Einsatzgruppen, and also assisted with mass murder in after the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising.

Eh, just going by what you've told me over the years, but never listened to me....o_O

Regarding Sylt, I don’t have concrete memories of them per se but they give me some sort of déjà vu.

After reading up more on Best, while we have the same sentiment regarding the communists(or maybe my other life did because the Soviet Union messed up his family’s properties and lives), most the places don’t match so yes, I wasn’t him.

I didn’t want to get too involved in Heydrich’s death but in the end, there was a person I wanted to protect and he happened to be one of those who did the dirty work.

Regarding Mel, it was short for Melinda, my wife from my other life. She was an Austrian with some Hungarian roots. I explicitly said that in my memories when speaking to a cousin in an Eastern European language.

If I was indeed Reinefarth, then my subconscious was right in blocking 14 year old me from knowing it. I don’t think I would’ve been able to handle it then. In my innermost thoughts, I didn’t want to get involved.
