Why so interested

The other day -- my wife asked me why i was so interested in all of this. Why do i read so many books like many lives and many master by wiess, soul survivor, Carol's books, journey of souls, live after live by Dr Raymand moody, etc.

I could not really answer expect to say that i want to discover the truth of what and who we are. Are we only temporary biological entities or are we really immortal spiritual entities. (i really hope the second - i'm 90% sure - but not 100% --- yet)

I have add a few personal experiences such as an past life regression - I described one on another thread (but there were a few others) and i helped a friend who does paranormal research. We actually caught some EVPs which were clear dis-embodied voices. It answered some direct questions - very cool. So therefore i know that people who claim they have EVPS - it is real. So i have a few pieces of evidence - not much - but some. I am always seeking more.

My question here to the community is has anyone had additional evidence - clear NDEs, past lives regression, have you actually had clear communication with a relative via a real medium - not a fake one - but a real one. If so, can you please - let me know. :D

Thanks,
Scott

For thousands of years mankind has been seeking the answer to ultimate question of what happens when we die, so you're in good company. I came here for the same reason. I wanted to know if my "memories" were real or just a fantasy.

I'm happy to hear a real person (not someone on TV) caught EVPs that answered direct questions. Everything I see on TV I can't help but wonder if it was real or faked to boost ratings.

I have have witnessed some strange things that could have possibly been paranormal. I have also had memories that have come through self-regression and meditation that I could later verify with facts. I don't have anything that I can lay out there as 100% proof of anything, but I'm not sure anyone can.

Follow the work of Christopher Fleming regarding evps, and mediumship. Yes, he is on TV, has been involved in several series, and those series have all, at times, been edited for dramatic effect. But he keeps the unedited evps and other evidence he gathers while making a show and releases it from his website. He's pretty straightforward, and good at what he does. He is the first psychic to become well known for using equipment to verify paranormal experience, and he has some great examples.

I went through most of my life not believing in "psi", reincarnation or mediums, in spite of the fact that my own mother was psychic, and in spite of the fact that some of my own childhood memories were from a period in my own family that predated my actual birth. I was so bone-headed that I didn't even recognize a visit from my deceased mother thirty years ago. It's alarming how much all of us tend to discount such experiences as "flukes" without asking questions or examining what happened. We don't dare speak of such things out loud, because of the general attitude that pervades our society.

Twelve years ago my granddaughter exhibited clear clairaudience, which I couldn't ignore; and I've been more aware ever since.

If you would be interested in actual scientific experiments which give clear evidence of "psi", check out Drs. Dean Radin, Russell Targ, and Charles Tart. We don't have to have our own experiences in order to find sufficient evidence for life after death. But, hearing actual evp's first-hand certainly helps. I think most of us encounter cognitive dissonance, and it often takes quite a bit to convince ourselves of our own incredible experiences.

I didn't need a medium to do what I can do myself, not that I admit to being a medium, I'm not, but all of us have innate abilities when it comes to such things.

For example, as a young man back in '76, I was working in RT at a small hospital, doing the O2 log one night on the 11-7 shift, when I started smelling a familiar women's perfume, but couldn't place it, and none of the Nurses had been in the RT office that night.

Until much later, it came to me, it was the perfume my very Southern (deceased) Grand-Mother wore all the time, it was called "White Shoulders" that she got as a gift, and that night, I believe, she managed to contact me via the sense of smell!

Like most others, I've heard my name being called and there was no one there.

And one time in North Florida, I pulled off I-75 to eat, and after awhile got ready to pull out of a feeder street, and I did look both ways, and I started forward, when I felt a hand on the right side of my face, and turned my head towards the feeling, there was a semi truck in my lane, having passed a slower car, and he was where I would have been, had I not stopped.

Had there not been a hand laid on my face then, I could have been killed or seriously injured, needless to say, I was so shaken up that I had to sit on the side of the road.

There have been other instances, I believe, in my opinion of having had a clear "communication" through one of my five senses from a deceased relative or person.

I have had many NDE’s in my past due to a medical condition. One incident of my past touches on your question. I had a NDE in 1988 due to a relapse of the childhood medical condition I grew up with. It was very convoluted at the time. I had to have an operation in the aftermath and trying to cope with memories of the ‘out of body’ travel to the spirit realm was not a high priority. I had to bury some memories and they later returned to me.

My cousin died the same year. In my NDE – I had a visit with his spirit. His spirit came to me in ‘dreams’ in the aftermath of my NDE. His spirit told me about his next incarnation. Where, when and who.

The NDE is sort of ‘over-rated’ when it gets talked about or written about. In my case it was like a ‘dream-state’ that exists in a reality outside this reality. For that reason – it is hard to talk about in a real sense because it involves a reality removed from the physical realm. So – in 1988 it was not something easy to talk about and I kept the revelations to myself.

My deceased cousins spirit revealed to me in dreams – that he was about to be born again into the body of an unborn child that would make him my nephew in the future.

In 1998 when he was 10 years old – I finally had a conversation with him that he brought up on his own. I had never spoken to him about the ‘revelation’ that came to me in a dream. He started telling me about ‘thoughts’ that came to him about living in the world in a different body with a different Mom. He went on to describe my Aunt. (Some one he hadn’t met before.)

That was my evidence. I had to move away overseas for awhile and when I returned – I tried to talk to him about it delicately – and – he had no memory of that conversation.

It didn’t matter. I felt I had been waiting a decade to get some sort of confirmation from him. I knew enough to know that sort of memory lays dormant and hidden inside for a reason. It wasn’t important for him to recall that past life so – I left it alone.

I thought how great it would be to ‘awaken’ that past life memory and present some sort of physical evidence or testimony to help validate ‘reincarnation’ as a fact – but when dealing with spiritual matters – we have to allow spirit to lead us to the truth we need in any given moment.

There is a saying that ‘religion is man-made’ and ‘spirit is god-given.’ I feel that is how the evidence has to come to us. It has to come to use from that ‘Divine Source.’ Not through a doctrine created by the hand of man through research, science, institution, religion or physical evidence. I feel that evidence has to be presented to us by a ‘spiritual source’ and aimed at our hearts more so than our minds.

Sharing testimony with others – is an inspiration to know that ‘source of truth’ is there evidence waiting to be embraced by the heart – more so – than the mind.

Wow

Those cases are amazing! - It really shows you that all we read in books like Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr Wiess are true. That is, skeptics would say that Dr Wiess made up the story to sell a few books.

For those who are not familiar with him - he was performing hypnosis on a patient who started describing a past life from 4000 years ago. Dr Weiss was skeptical and did not believe in past lives. However he was confused about why the patient was getting better. According to him, fantasy does not help people.

However - one day- a highly evolved sprit he termed a sprit master told him that his son and dad who both died were both on the other side. The master told him that his son died due to complications of the heart. The heart blood vessels were inverted and the baby was only a few weeks old when he died.

Nobody knew these details - not even close family members. It would be impossible for the patient who channeled this information to know that.

It makes no sense at all for a scientist like Dr Weiss to lie about this. He was highly respected and held high positions that paid him well. He did not need to make this up to sell a few books.

I really believe in this and when I read stories like those in the above link - it further validates my belief system. However -- like I said earlier thread - my new belief system is young - only a few years. 3-4 years ago - I was scared to die and believed in nothing -- not any more.

As a note of caution, I would warn anyone who is relatively new to this belief, that well-placed articles by highly respected scientists are capable of dousing such beliefs; because we easily revert to the mechanistic, reductionist foundations that we were raised with. If you possess an inquiring mind, you will surely come across many debunking reports, which will undoubtedly shake your belief and will subvert and repress your enlightened memory.

Speaking only for myself, I have to constantly research information and re-read books in order to remember that another world exists beyond this one. My nature is to doubt the unseen and to trust only what I can directly sense. Thus, much of what I read of a spiritual nature is easily forgotten. The frustration of not being in contact with that world in spite of constant meditation tends to drive me back into the skeptical camp.

Our recognition of a spiritual existence lacks daily reinforcement, because one dares not mention such things to those we speak with every day. While some people would recommend balanced doses of both sides of this issue, I believe that the cards are stacked against one's belief and awareness of true spirituality. Discernment is important in preventing one's imagination from running away. But, giving equal time to skeptics is wrong, in my opinion. My own curiosity tends to lead me to skeptical articles, but with the unfortunate effect of leaving me angry and physically ill. One of the reasons I come here every day is to try and reinforce my own belief in the face of constant and unrelenting ridicule that I witness toward others who "know" what is true, and believe in a spiritual existence.

Don't let your mind rest once you have achieved one level of belief. There is so much more information out there to be read. Take full advantage of your computer and google everything you can possibly find, not only about reincarnation, but about the full spectrum of "psi" phenomenon and Quantum Theory. Always be a student, who never graduates; for, in the search for truth, there is no final grade.
