One thing my mother (who is enormously gifted with ESP and some sort of "other knowing")does is ask very young children "Where did you come from?"
She is sure to ask this at an age when the child is just a toddler, just learning to verbalize their thoughts. The answers she gets are always shocking, touching, or both.
I am the oldest of three girls. When I was 2 years old, my mother asked me where I came from. I matter-of-factly replied "Grandpa John sent me to you." She went numb. My grandpa John had died in 1974 and I was born in 1977. No one had ever told me about Grandpa John and to this day he is very rarely discussed. I have always felt his energy around me and feel like I know everything about him although no one has told me more than 5 words about him. I am now 25 years old.
My middle sister, when asked, responded with, "Jesus sent me to be with you." Laura had never been taught about Jesus, and had spent only rare occassions in church by this age. She was only 2 years old when she said this.
My youngest sister, Kathleen, is a very young spirit. She responded with "I dunno." Figures.
My mother still asks children all the time "Where did you come from?" I am not sure why she does it. Maybe it's to confirm something she already knows. I'm sure she can't wait until my 18 month old starts speaking legibally.
I'm passing on this story from my life because I think it's interesting. And I am sure we all know a child that we could ask...
