What is the purpose of all of these cases

We have a lot of evidence of past lives and our conscious surviving the death of the physical body. That to me is the bigger picture in all of this. That is -- we are really spiritual beings not just temporary biological entities that will cease to exist.

Getting back to some of the evidence that i like are:

1 - Cameron Macauley: The Boy Who Lived Before
2 - Crimean War Reincarnation
3 - A Reincarnated Submariner
4 - Jenny Cockell Finds Her Past Life Children (I first read about this in a Dr Wiess Book).
5 - James Leininger - Primetime Live: Reincarnation, past life evidence (loved this book).

This list goes on and on. It is pretty amazing. I can see how a skeptic ** may ** be able to dismiss a few cases - but not all of them collectivity.

I really like cases from kids because when kids get facts right -- like Cameron Macauley and James L - it makes it really hard to dismiss.

To me - those skeptics that turn a blind eye are like Flat Earth Believers from 500 years ago. Those believers would not accept the truth. Kind of like what we are seeing now.

Anyhow - my question is: why do you think we have all of these cases and all of this evidence? Do you think it is really about a greater power letting us know that we are really more than human beings? That is - validating that expression:

We are not human beings have a spiritual experience but rather immortal spiritual beings having a human experience?

Hi Smac! Your question is one that has plagued me ever since I accepted the possibility that such cases might actually exist. In fact, the question was more specifically, "Why them, and not me?". I admit that I'm no closer to an answer to that question even though, after years of reading, I have totally accepted this new reality.

Many psychics have claimed that we are all capable of being psychic, and that we can achieve such awareness by acceptance, study, meditation and keeping an open mind against the brainwashing methods of our reductionist society. Regrettably, however, many of us have failed to achieve such a level of psychic awareness as would permit us to know, and therefore validate, some of our previous lives. Thus, the question why becomes ever more poignant and frustratingly unanswered.

But, then, I am reminded how meaningful and similar the question is when we also ask, "Why are some people born with serious handicaps and other not?". Could it be that we are all handicapped in some way or another? Could it be that, as a species we have gradually lost the natural awareness of our spiritual nature over thousands of years, and that most of us are simply physically unable to tune into it? Of course, such a theory has no scientific basis. But, as science progresses, someday it might be possible to identify a genome that is consistent with spiritual or psychic awareness.

Here is a good answer to my question

HI

I found another site that sheds some light on my question:

Bruce -- the father of James L stated:

This is a gift to those who need some tangible proof that there is something beyond death, that life has meaning…It revived his convictions and faith.

I guess since my belief system is only a few years old - unlike a lot of the community on here, i am still seeking my own proof to really validate it.

BY the way - this is a real informative community and i am really glad i found this site.

Nice to have you here smac2012. I am enjoying reading your thoughts.

I think some of the most important aspects about life, are the things we cannot measure, or see. Like love. Carl Sagan once asked someone, "do you love your mother?" - that person responded, "yes, of course." Sagan then said...."prove it."

Like so many things in life, all we have is personal experience and our own unique points of view. Enjoy the journey and welcome.

A proof is sufficient evidence or argument for the truth of a proposition.
As with evidence itself, the criteria for sufficiency of evidence are also strongly area-dependent, usually with no absolute threshold of sufficiency at which evidence becomes proof. The same evidence that may convince one jury may not persuade another.

Proofs need not be verbal. Before Galileo, people took the apparent motion of the Sun across the sky as proof that the Sun went round the Earth.

Back in 1973, my story of being reincarnated had reached outside my family when I told a martial arts instructor about a past life memory. I gave him full rich details that he verified. My Grandfather was astonished that he was a regular member of a Christian Church. My Grandfather took me aside and said the man had turned his back on this Church's teachings and fully embraced reincarnation as a fact to him. It was that convincing for him. My family was impressed and some were drawing lines in the sand it was divided. Some believed and some still held true to their Church teachings.

He told me that I might be able to convince some people - but in his minds - it was the ones who didn't get convinced that I had to watch my back with. He told me about Galileo. He said,

"Take my word on this Grandson. Your still a young lad. The Church or any person of authority - does NOT like being proved wrong. The Church was so upset with old Galileo - they wanted to burn him at the stake for proving people wrong. Walk softly Grandson and learn when and where you can share your understanding with other folks."

My Grandfather went on to tell me,

"When it comes to change Grandson - the world turns slowly. Very slowly. It took many years for Galileo's discovery to become known fact - and I bet if you was to make it off into some far reaching corners of the world - you probably still have entire tribes of cultures who would give you a fair argument and debate on the earth being the center of the universe. Don't expect the world to change overnight just because you done went and convinced one Christian to change his mind on reincarnation. You got a whole army of them out there and they are not going to be as impressed by your story as your teacher was in this matter. They is going think your the devil in disguise if you go against them and they will treat you as a scapegoat for all their pains, fears, angers and frustrations of living in this world if you go rocking their boat the wrong way."

I feel my Grandpa was right - in that the world turns slowly when it comes to changing 'human' minds. The world is slowly changing and hopefully for the better.
