When I was 2 years old I had a very vivid dream that I still to this day (I'm 25) call "My very first dream".

In the dream I was on the floor and there was a cartoon character dresses as a soldier, holding a riffle on top of the bed. I was sitting in the corner crying. All of a sudden he started to shoot at me and he shot me twice on my leg. I remember staring at my leg and trying to call my mom but I had no voice...no matter how loud I would try to scream nothing would come out.

I woke up crying and screaming. I still remember that helpless feeling.

Then when I was 6 years old I was eating out with the family. I was sitting down but when I tried to get up my leg started to hurt. It hurt so bad that I didn't want to move. My aunt had to literally carry me to the car. For the next 2 weeks I didn't move my leg, not even to walk. My mom took me to the doctor and I got some x-rays done. There was nothing wrong with me. I finally got the courage to move my leg and found that it didn't hurt me anymore ...I was just scared.

When I was 16 I had another very vivid dream.

I was in some kind of war. I was a man, in my 30's or 40's. I had blond hair and a mustache. (I'm a latina woman now) I was wearing a blue uniform. We were literally in the middle of the war.....there was a lot of dust and gunshots. I could see a lot of people with riffles just shooting away. I was running...I was armed too. All of a sudden I realized my best friend (who was a soldier too) had been killed. I saw his body and cried I wanted to save him so badly. And as I was trying to carry his body away...I got shot in my leg, twice. I remember thinking "They got me, this is it". I woke up feeling horrible.

I also have a birthmark exactly where I got shot in both dreams. The birthmark is slightly darker than the rest of my skin and it's patchy...bigger in the middle then smaller patches around it.

I've always thought this was very interesting and I think It might have been a past life so I decided to share.

I have no idea what war it was, or what year it was. I'm finding it really hard to pinpoint even though I've done some research.

I'm interested on what everyone here thinks...were they just dreams? Or could I be remembering a past life?

:freak:

Hello Amarilys123 and welcome.

I think that you could be remembering a past life. I am not familiar with many wars - and I know there have been very many of them - but, the American Civil War comes to mind.

Hello Amarilys123, Welcome!

It certainly sounds to me like a past life memory breaking through. Especially if you have the birth marks that correspond. I would recommend you read a book called "Someone Else's Yesterday" by Jeff Keen. Jeff is a member here and has a similar story.

As you pursuit these memories you will find more and more areas of synchronousity in your life. For me, when the door opened the facts of reincarnation began spilling out in such obvious ways. Not all of them were "fun," in fact were most painful, but brought a deeper meaning to my life now. I hope the same holds true for you.

I wish you luck and if you have further questions please ask. I think there are many places on our site that will prove of interest to you.

Thanks so much guys.

I will definitely check out those links.

I have done research on war uniforms and I have to say, the one that resembles it the most is the blue uniforms of the civil war...the thing is, I remember having more of a pointier hat....

The uniform look sort of like this http://www.ushist.com/img/union/images/qm-0400_frockcoat_general-brigadier_us_with-epaulets_l.jpg

But with a different type of hat.

(I don't know who that person is I just got the photo from google images)

Has anybody ever seen anything like that? I'm not familiar with wars...and my research just confuses me even more.

I've also tried researching soldiers that got shot in the leg on the Civil War but they were sooooo many!

ChrisR, I also think is interesting how I processed the memory as a 2 year old...It makes me wonder what other people have dismissed only because it seemed childish.

I would LOOOOVVEE to do some regression work but unfortunately I don't have the money right now, and I don't know of anyone who would help me for free :-/ But If I ever have the opportunity I will definitely take it.

Thank you so much everyone for the warm welcome :)

There is a cheaper option which allows you to try regressing yourself: Audio cd's suitable for past life regressions

These cd's are just a recorded version of what you would experience with a past life regression therapist, except that they are generic and not tailored to suit you personally. A lot of people have had very successful results.

Another good source of audio material for meditation is iTunes, as long as you have an iPod that is :)

HI Amarilys! Welcome to the forum!

It seems to me that you might be describing a uniform style from the 18th or 19th Century. Headgear can help to narrow down the time and place a bit more, because they changed quite gradually during that period.

Whether in Europe, America or elsewhere, the hat you described is possibly either a foraging cap, which began looking like a night cap that you might have seen in old illustrations of Dickens novels. It was made of cloth instead of leather or felt, and had a tassel on the end. The whole pointy section of the cap would flop over to one side or another. Eventually, the pointy part that flopped over was eliminated, and became the "garrison" cap that has been widely used up to this time. It still comes to a peak as in the photo you referenced.

During the late 18th Century, armies adapted the use of a brimless felt or leather cap or helmet, especially in North America. In the case of leather helmets, there was a pointed front plate in the front to identify their unit number. During the American civil war, the most common cap would taper, then truncate into a hard flat top. However, it has been found that foraging caps with the flopping point and tassels were often used for specialized scouting and reconnaissance missions.

The uniform you referenced in your photo is an officer's uniform, and the person wearing it would likely have been somewhat older than the typical soldier, in the range of 30-40 years old, as you mentioned. However, it was most often worn in battle during the Napoleonic Wars, as mentioned by Chris. Otherwise, it was worn elsewhere only as a "dress", or non-combat officer's uniform during the 19th Century.

If you continue to do research, or meditation about your dreams, try to narrow your description down, if possible, and we can help you bracket the time and place more accurately.

I think the issues with your leg certainly suggest that there is something that is certainly worth investigating about your dreams.

It looks to me like a past life memory also, and I like the way your 2 year old mind processed the memory by associating a cartoon character with the dream. I think this is far more common than we realize, and one of the reasons why many parents dismiss their child's dreams as imagination.
I agree completely... kids associate a lot of things with what they can understand.

I just woke up from another dream in which I am shot in the same leg, twice and again with a riffle.

I've done so much research and I just can't find any uniform that looks exactly like what I remember. This is getting frustrating :(

Hi Amarilys :)

Have you been researching your past lives for very long? Referring to myself as an example, although I've always been aware that I've been here before, it wasn't until I found this forum and had a regression, that I actually began to take the 'research' side of my past lives seriously, to the point where it almost became an obsession. I was very fortunate to be able to personally validate a few of my memories, but I soon found that every question I answered, just opened up a bunch of more questions. Never satisfied, always wanting to find out more, and after much frenzied researching, I soon learned that it is more important to focus on the healing than it is to focus on the wound. Facts, dates, names are all very interesting, but the important thing is not what you are remembering, but why? How do these memories relate to you in the here and now? What do they mean to you? These are the questions to which the answers will be more beneficial to you.

As for finding out who you were, and where and when, I know exactly how frustrating it can be, but once you open the door to your past lives, little pieces of information will come to you when you least expect it, or when you need to know, and often it will come to you in the most unusual circumstances ..... the universe really does move in mysterious ways. ;)

Remember you have a whole lifetime ahead of you to figure out how far your journey has brought you, so don't rush it, just continue to practice with your meditating or regressions, and enjoy the ride :)

Just some thoughts I want to share from my own limited experience about retrieving information in general.

I think that timing is an important aspect of getting all the information to make sense. I am not speaking from some treasure trove of experience but rather a sense of how things operate in my own life. I have always been in a "hurry" to get things done or to understand something.

These days I seem much more patient , much more content to be in a "waiting" mode of existence. Although there are days when I am just exasperated from not knowing things......

About 3 years ago I suddenly developed almost an obsession with the subject of reincarnation and past lives to the point where I devoted nearly all of my spare time to researching whatever was available.

Within 6 months or so of my burgeoning interest I experienced a crushing series of tragedies in my family which have only just recently concluded. My son was killed in a car accident, my brother died from complications of a suicide attempt, and my father passed away a couple months ago after a long & heroic struggle to survive.

I remember telling my brother about my research a couple weeks before his suicide attempt but it hardly sparked a response from him.He had likely already reached the point of no return with his decision.

As I look back it is as if somehow I knew that having this particular kind of knowledge would be necessary for my own emotional survival.

I have a sense that this has all happened before in some kind of similar series of events but I have never been given a clear vision of the particulars. I haven't really tried very hard either.

I can identify time periods and areas of interest that give clues but haven't had the energy to pursue things in that direction yet.

I plan on following through with more aggressive attempts to

retrieve whatever information is available. If it comes I will be grateful - if it doesn't that's OK too.

ChrisR and Frerotte...your experiences seem to dovetail with my own very closely. I had a significant vision and several amazing "coincidences". Then I read and researched almost to distraction, and could not get enough to read and research and my understanding altered the way I see and live my life. And finally, I underwent and am undergoing major upheavals in my life leaving it almost unrecognizable from where I started. In retrospect it seems that an understanding of life/afterlife and how it all fits together and the research that ensued was required for me to get through the difficulties I have been required to face.

My issues were less tragic than yours Frerotte, as mine only deal with finances, marriage and career. Regardless, without the understanding of a deeper sense of self and the purpose behind it all, created through my reading and research, I might have become completely unhinged.

Thank you all for sharing.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I understand that I need to be patient and that maybe it's just not the right time for me to figure it all out. My frustration just gets the best of me sometimes, especially after having the dreams.

I will continue researching but I will try to not let it get the best of me. After all, I have THIS life to live right?

Thank you for sharing your experiences with me, it really help me see things with a new perspective.

QUOTE from Frerotte: Within 6 months or so of my burgeoning interest I experienced a crushing series of tragedies in my family which have only just recently concluded. My condolences on the passing of your loved ones, I can imagine that the passing of even One person dear to you is one of the harder things to experience in one's lifetime, but Three people is almost too much to comprehend.

One can go crazy with "What If?" as in "What If I had done this (or that)" and in the case of your Brother, he had made a decision on his own that you had NO control over.

Rest assured that even though they are gone in body from your life, they are NOT gone in spirit, they just exist now in a dimension that you cannot see here on Earth.

We are eternal spirits in a temporary body and Earth is NOT our home, but rather when we are in Spirit, we are in our true home, and we all shall return there some day.

A lifetime spent on Earth is just a drop in the bucket in the vastness of eternity.

Being in a body has been likened to being in a large room full of people and filled with a dense fog, no one can see clearly anyone, and your vision (and other senses) are restricted terribly, as you bump into each other.

Until that one day, when we are called to our true home, that a door opens up, and we step through, away from the fog, and our senses are sharpened greatly.

Good luck with your quest for continued knowledge in Reincarnation and finding out about Past Lives, you are not alone, you are amongst friends in this Forum, feel free at anytime to write and ask questions, and we will try and answer them.

Amarilys,

The patience is everything. I posted about this in the Atlantis thread: sometimes dreams pull images from what you have stored in your brain, like, at the time of your first dream you recall, the child's toy.

Don't try to make this all fit. Just write down the things that occur to you so your mind can open up. The more you just write down the things that occur to you, your mind will finally push out the right thing to bring it all together.

Don't give up, and don't try to piece it all together - let your memories lead the way. Just let your brain know, every day, that you do want to remember. It will finally get around to saying, "okay, okay, okay, here you go!"
