What Are Your Talents?

I have another talent but it's on the Kinda "Way out" side. I can break up storms.

I am rather fearful of BIG storms. Tornado types.

Five years ago we had a huge storm coming directly at my small town. I was watching it on radar as it came. I became frightened and began waving my hand as though to erase the storm. I was saying "break up...fall apart" To my amazement, the storm split into 2 pieces and went AROUND my town. You can imagine that I was surprised and thrilled.

The next storm that seemed a threat....I waved and erased again. This one ran out of steam ...

I have continued this crazy system of storm control and only once has it failed me in the last 5 years.

I thought it was really weird and kept it a secret as my family already view me as "different"....until I read an article that a large number of people are known to be able to effect the weather.

Try it out....it may work for you too....

Did you have this talent in a past life, I wonder?

I know what you're talking about, Florence. "Psi" talents, I think that can be built on from life to life. What you're describing is being able to move subtle energy around. This ability can be cultivated in many different ways -- qi gong, the matial arts, yoga, and even being very good at handling western-style weapons. I think I worked hard at cultivating being a good shot or otherwise directing various weapons in previous lives, and I think that has carried over into being able to direct energy in this life as well. Even though I kind of suck at firing pistols these days, I know what you're talking about when it comes to breaking up clouds/smog. Try it, folks, you might be very surprised!

Another kind of "psi" skill I have -- I've always been very good at just looking at someone and knowing if they were in the Navy or not. This ability to "smell a salty dog" would have been very important in a previous life (when I stole ships for a living). As a political activist, this ability somehow transferred to being good at detecting infiltrators.

Florence,

Your post reminded me of a Shaman, maybe you have brought that ability forward from a past life? Keep using it! Years ago I read this on another website and I finally found it again. It's about Cloudbusting or Orgon energy first identified by Wilhelm Reich about 50 years ago. What they do with their eyes, you do with your hands to achieve the same results! Either way you are using Orgon energy.

Here's the website~

Hi Zengirl,

Thanks for the reply. It's so interesting isn't it.

Today I received a Karmic Report from the Edgar Cayce group. It is supposed to be based on the information he left behind. It says I had past incarnations as a Monk, nun, Ascetic or Ashramite.

I have talked about my feelings that I was a Monk in the past. It also says I am a healer and that I was into astrology. I have been told by psychics that I'm a healer and I have played around with Astrology....It continues...I have a strong desire to be alone......true....and says that I probably experienced a terrible betrayal and may have been tortured and put to death. In my meditation scene I was a male Monk and the building I was in was burning. Maybe that is why I have a hard time remembering my past lives.

If I was a healer that is moving energy isn't it.?

If I brought that type of energy foreward then I suppose you may be right..

As a child I disliked people and as I said in the "DOLL topic...I never wanted a doll or played with any dolls. In particular....I didn't like women....only the women in my own family.

If I WAS really betrayed....maybe it came through women??? Who knows....It's fascinating.....

Hi Florence,

Reincarnation has always held my interest & it makes sense! The first book I read on the subject was by Jess Stearn: "Search for the Girl with the Blue Eyes".

I was a teenager when I put together what I call my "jigsaw list"..things that don't pertain to THIS lifetime. These could be feelings, talents, fears, phobias, dreams or spontanious rememberings for which there is no basis in this lifetime. Create one so you can get a better idea of just how much 'bleed-through' from past lives is really going on. Look at maps and write down your affinities for countries, cultures and historical periods in time. Each of us has pretty much lived in all the major civilizations but write down what jumps out to you. A trip to an import store can also help bring out pastlife reactions. :)

A.R.E./Edgar Cayce are wonderful and I'd trust that report to be more accurate than not for PL qualities. You and I are very similar as I've been a nun, priestess, healer and a martyred christian! I'm an astrologer as a hobbie, not by profession. Yes I do think you have healing down so well it's second nature for you and that is why you can do cloudbusting--and alot more that you don't realize yet! I'm a reiki healer in this life and yes you do channel energy through your body and out your hands with it. Follow your heart and do what calls to you in life.

~Zengirl

Yes, we are quite alike. I also read Jess Stearns, "The Search for the Girl with the Blue Eyes" I also read his wonderful book on Edgar Cayce. It was the first of many books about Cayce.

I feel if I'm a healer in this life it has been through words. I have been able, in a work situation especially, get people to understand one another and get along well. I also have been told that I changed peoples lives by helping them to realise and use talents they were not aware of and develope their positive traits. I'm very big on self improvement of ones character.

I'm a full moon Scorpio with moon in opposition in Taurus. My Ascendent is also in Taurus. I have a trine from Asc. and Moon to Neptune and a sextile from Neptune to the Sun. Neptune rules the 12th. I have Mars in the 8th and many aspects between 4th...8th and 12th......

I believed in more than one life ever since I could speak...just didn't have a name for it until much later....It's all very fascinatng to me. I don't experience much in meditations on past lives but I DO trust my "Knowings"

Hi Florence!

I lost this thread and finally I found you again!

You do have a good awareness of astrology and that is awesome! Do you have 7th house Moon in Scorpio then? We're almost reversed mirror images of each other as I'm a Taurus with my Sun in the 7th and late Libra Asc. conjunct Neptune 1st house. We both have important planets in the 8th house of Death/Regeneration or rather Reincarnation! Past lives are among the 8th house issues along with inheritance and I think other dimensions/time travel as well. With your Mars in the 8th, these subjects will be very important for you..also PL talents and memories can be accessed with alot of energy! I have Mercury, Venus and Part of Fortune in the 8th which is both Taurus & Gemini in my chart.

Where is your Mercury and Venus located? Do you have Neptune in the 12th or were you referring to it's natural home in Pisces which is the 12th? I know... too many questions! If you want to send me a private message we can continue this dialogue further!

~Zengirl

My ascendent is Taurus 15....Moon in the 12th on Taurus 5...Pisces IS on the 12th house cusp in my chart......My Sun is below the cusp of my 7th but in contact on Scorpio 10.

I don't do well in the message dept. here ....last time I sent a message....I sent it to myself...giggle...I laughed . I'm generally so serious about a lot of things that I love it when I do something dumb....

Just e-mail me at home.

Yeah, but no...

I still haven't really found my talents in life, unfortunately. I've tried many varied things within my scope of availability, based on finance and location (art, science, military, college, dance, music, volunteer work, fishmongering, lifeguarding, athleticism...Don't even ask me to take care of children, the result has always been naked, diapered bodies running down the street laughing as I run after shouting, 'No, no, come back! I'm going to tell your mother!') but have failed at all of them. On top of that, I have applied to work at both McDonald's and Walmart several times and they continuously deny me the glory of minimum wage, menial employment. I may very well have a talent for failing, but that remains to be seen. I think it's funny, personally. My family thinks I may secretely be 'special', in the way that no family wants one of their own to be special. I'm quite special indeed, and there is nothing wrong with that.

I think the most interesting talents I've read in this thread have been the abilities of certain individuals to pick up on languages or foreign accents. I also think Aili's ability to pick up ballet, even after a late start, is quite amazing. I took a ballet class in college. The instructor was very nice, considering the potential damage of my presence in the weekly class.

I may have written something about this before, but I have a cousin who has never taken a dance class in her life and has no apparent interest in dance, but stands in what appears to me to be a perfect fifth position (the crazy one where your feet are all backward and twisted). I pointed this out to my aunt one day and she blamed it on my uncle's genes, saying that we are 'inbred Amish hillbillies', and that my cousin's pelvis is crooked. Needless to say, if anything, my family members have infused my life with humor.

This is exactly what my cousin's feet look like when she stands: http://dance.about.com/od/stepsandmoves/ss/Ballet_Five_5.htm

For the record, I stood next to her and tried to duplicate this position (it's not something you can just *do* for kicks and giggles, IMO), but ended up on the floor with sore hips. Unfortunately I do not share this 'inbred' crooked hip gene.

I agree with alaskanlaughter. You are quite talented, Ginger.

As for me, I've been a mechanic of some sort all my life and I've noticed that I am beginning to fix more things than I break -- so maybe I'm developing a talent?

Alaskanlaughter,

Thanks! I'm a rather reserved person in public so writing on forums and in my journals helps me to feel 'normal'. I like to share my observations with others, so I'm glad you found that funny. I'm blessed with an outlandish family.

Maybe I was a writer in a past life, or wrote a lot of very long, detailed anectdotes to someone (the visual image that comes to mind is of Pride and Prejudiced-style corresponding).

Then again, maybe I was a raving lunatic.

To Ailish:

I think the ability to hear something and play it on an instrument is incredible also. I tried to play violin once (I went to a music shop and asked to try one out). It sounded like a cross between a dying cow and a T-rex giving birth.

... I still like your talents, though! :D

What are your talents?

Well, for starters, I'm very good at reading people. I'm very observant and pick up on things quickly. I also have a really talented ear. I'm very good at hearing something and repeating what I hear. I'm good at impersonating people, and do several celebrity impersonations. It's not uncommon for people to request I do a specific impersonation for them. I have maybe a little above average singing voice, but I rock at karaoke. Again, it's nothing more than an impersonation to me, except in this case, it's a singer. I also pick up on accents very easily. A couple days ago, based on her accent, I guessed one of my professors was from Kentucky, I was right! Even I was a little suprised I nailed the exact state. I've taken Spanish and German classes, and in both, the teacher complimented me on how good my pronounciation was.

I'm a pretty good at sports, but there's one in particular I have no explaination for. I'm a really good bowler. I'm in a bowling league. I have the highest average on my team, one of the highest in the league, and my team has won the league two out of the last three years. What's weird about that? I don't like bowling all that much. I don't mind it, but I'm not exactly passionate about it. The only time I bowl is in my league once a week during the season, and the only reason I'm on the team is because they asked me to. It's gotta irritate some people in my league who bowl two or three nights a week (or more) and are really into it, and they're getting beat by a guy hardly ever bowls and doesn't really care one way or the other.

This is a fun thread, and I would like to know if anyone has anything they would like to share. :cool

:D I always wonder about those natural talents... any hints that this may be past life related?

Those are great talents! I love learning different languages and I pick up on all kinds of idioms and accents. I can read aloud in almost any language with a perfect pronunciation, even if I have no idea of what I'm saying at all! :D

Do you enjoy singing more than bowling? I've always felt music and singing to be great triggers of past life memories, and I wonder if it's the case with you?

:)

This is such an interesting thread and what fun reading thru all the replies.

Now as for myself, I find myself so talented it seems when it comes to all of the outdoor skills. This is the way it has been for me ever since I was a little kid. In growing up I would always search for those nearby wooded areas and wander around with no problems whatsoever. And always bringing home some critter like a snake which made my mother soooo cringe. I am excellent it seems with the map reading skills, having a sense of direction, tracking, etc. On a recent hike someone said that I am so gifted with knowing the lay of the land and how it will be and everything it seems with being in the out of doors. People have remarked on how I can be so much at peace and feeling at home in the middle of such wild grizzly bear country it seems. In my 30 plus years of wilderness wanderings with also since I was a little kid, I have NEVER been lost period! As for myself, it is practically impossible it seems to get lost. I personally find this stems from my PLS as a Native American and some other aboriginal person.

Along with these outdoor skills, having the habit of being more or less like a hermit also can come quite naturally with having the ability of being quite comfortable being all by myself days at a time. But I do like being around people also to a degree. Along with this comes seemingly the ability to natually being able to preoccupy myself with no problems. My mother would remark that she never had much problems with me as a kid for I could so preoccupy myself with something all by my lonesome.

Another talent that I have had as far back as I remember is putting jigsaw puzzles together. I can put a 500 to 1000 piece puzzle together in a matter of just a few hours. My mother would remark that I could find how many puzzle pieces to her one.

Now as for art, am pretty good in drawing but have never pursued this. I love art though bigtime. And do think quite good in photography I guess. As for most music, it seems I couldn't care less for except for country music and native american music which I do like. As a kid I almost took the time to learn the banjo but never pursued this which now I regret. I have always had an interest in dance but also have never pursued this avenue.

But also to say that like others here, how much do I detest Math. As a kid in school, my two worst subjects were Math and Grammer. Now even today I keep a journal when in the wilds and have thought of writing a book on my experiences. But do know that writing correct grammer is not a strong suit so to speak. O Well! Also forget sports which not only holds no interest for me, have always been quite lousy at it seems with always being near the last one picked for a team as a kid.

I think it's unlikely I was a great bowler in a past life. I don't know what other skill I aquired would transilate into be naturally gifted at it.

Do you enjoy singing more than bowling? I've always felt music and singing to be great triggers of past life memories, and I wonder if it's the case with you?
:)
Yes, I do enjoy singing more than bowling. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate bowling, but I am a music lover. I can put on a pretty good concert in my shower. :cool I think I definately have a musical connection to my previous life. I was a music lover then too. Much of the music I like now is from before I was born. I think I've been drawn back to my favorites from that life. It's understandable that music can work as a memory trigger. Music stirs emotions in us, as do memories.

As a child I wanted to dance but never had much luck. My Mother sent me to dance lessons but without much success. I just could not get the intricacies of tap dancing and I remember being 13 years old in

an 8 year old ballet class and losing ground. All my life though I had loved watching belly dancing in movies or television and wanted to do that. My Grandparents took me on vacation and I saw in the newspaper that Little Egypt was playing in a little club nearby. I begged them to take me and of course they did not think it was appropriate for a 13 year old child.

I was 24 when I saw an article about a new belly dance class starting in our city and I picked up the phone and enrolled immediately. I had taken my fourth class when the teacher asked me to help her teach!! It was the easiest thing I had ever done and I loved every minute of it. I continued my studies and eventually taught belly dance for 19 years. I know it must be from a past life, I just haven't had a glimpse of that life yet.

Now I watch my grandchildren for signs of past life talents and plan to help them develop any interests they may have. Chandra

Talents and past lives

Hi everyone!

I don't know if this question has been asked before or not, but I was wondering about talents and past lives. If you were someone famous like a writer a painter or even a musician is it possible NOT to have the same talents in this lifetime?

I grew up knowing how to draw and play music but those passions faded long ago. Now all I want to do is write and poetry has lifted me from a deep depression. But no psychic ever picked up on a writer. They told me they saw a musician and a painter yet when I look at my hands in another life they are writing.

I've always been fascinated by authors and poets who have committed suicide in the 19th century. If there was a lesson to be learned I feel like I was one of them due to my condition. But I have to point out that my therapist is equally interested in past lives and I often share my thoughts with her on the subject.

But who knows where this is going. Looking in the past can be dangerous yet it can help us make a better future for ourselves.

Hi!

for possible, everything can be possible, but i think it`s not the most common thing (i know, i know, most people won`t agree with me on this, but i can`t help thinking that death is not something THAT important, it`s just another event in my life, and then life goes on and i keep living). Usually we carry those abilities from life to life, some more, some less, but in a certain way we do. Think about of what you learnt as a child, i learnt in school about how do find out what kind of climate a region has according to the mountains, oceans, etc. If i get a problem of those now i might not be able to solve it as good as i could when i was learning it, but i might have an idea; however, if i decide to study geography seriously, i`ll end up solving that kind of problems even better than when i first learnt them.

And i think it`s the same with past life knowledge and talents, if you cultivate them in this life as well, they`ll grow, if you don`t, you might have an idea of those things (how to draw somehow well, how to be a good speaker, or of something theorical you learnt) but they`ll fade more and more from life to life if you don`t practice those things, just life this life`s things.

Hi Gracie,

I would say, in addition to Owl, that it's possible you just have not developed the writing skill in your current life, that it's a slumbering capacity. For a creative human or an artist it's not uncommon to develop all these skills together but some must have been more in the foreground depending on what period in life. It also may be that you have developed the three skills in different lives, like maybe the writing in the 19th century life and the painting and music in another. Or that you're through with painting and music anyhow but not with the writing.

I think you can best trust your intuition first, independently from how good (or not) your psychic is, because even the best psychics don't score 90 or 100 percent. But they can of course be of very good help. In which country do you think you lived as a poet? Because writers in the nineteenth century can still be validated very well and that must be an advantage in your PL search! Sounds exciting and when you succeed in finding this PL also clarifying I think.

Thanks guys! Sounds like you know what you're talking about. It's hard to say where my past life is from but whenever I picture the scenery it is always grey and raining. Like today, this weather makes me feel at home and creative. I also feel that I was male. Whenever I begin writing a story it is always based on the supernatural. I wonder if I wrote the same stories back then.

When I became involved in music during the 60's, it seemed more like a short sidebar to my life, because I had the feeling that I'd been there before; so it lasted until I went into the Army in '66. After that, playing the guitar began to fade only long enough for my son to pick it up and really take it places. I do suspect that we explore those other interests when we're young, just to remind us that we've "been there, done that". However, when it comes to Commercial Art, I knew from the beginning that I was carrying on an old skill, but in a different way. The old skill might have been Architecture or Engineering, because of the way I draw. Yet, it is transformed into a discliplined form of art.

I think, in most cases, that people generally do continue with a skill that they practiced in a previous lifetime, but that it may have been exercised in a different way, or for a different purpose. Then, there are those skills, which are still there, lying dormant. There are special unique skills, which have, unfortunately, become obsolete. How does one carry the skill of wheelwrighting into the next century without being employed at Williamsburg or some other living history museum? Clearly, we must be developing other new skills from old ones along the way.

-Nightrain

Well said, Nightrain! Perhaps writing is my strongest talent and that will help me chose a career in this life. I thought music was my place for a while but I am not confident enough like my father and brother who are already in a band.

Writing about the supernatural sounds very fascinating to me, Gracie. There were some good writers in the nineteenth century that were fervent spiritists. I think back then was a far more spiritual era because technology wasn't hindering spirit as much as it does now.

Btw, many members here are into arts, actively or passively, so we'll be glad to read more about your PL findings

some of my talents....

I think I have lots of past lives.

good sense of direction, not getting lost, wilderness or city,

artistic skills yes, most in arts and music I am good at (semi pro level)

legal type skills, asking right questions, know if someone is lying, quick reply, good with legal advice, attention to detail, getting it quickly, intelligence (always good grades in school)

fist fighting, marching drills, horse riding, dog training, sports, esp. swimming

ability to get to the point, to perceive the core, deep aspects of something, spiritual insights, good with meditation and spiritual practice

Talents?

Award-winning snow sculptor and pumpkin carver, and my first ice-sculpting gigs are pending this winter.

I have also published courtroom sketches and editorial cartoons.

My oil painting techniques are derived directly from my PL dreams of being Alfred Sisley, 1839 - 1899.

This time around, I've been a more diversified and more versatile edition as an artist. I also home-schooled my daughter in Art.
