Weird feeling

Irina

New Member
A friend showed me a video of a certain place and and a song was in the background. It all made me feel really depressed, and looking at it I felt that that is somehow MY place. I felt that I'm supposed to be there. And since then, I have a horrible feeling of emptiness,of missing something mine. At times, when I think of that, I get this feeling that someone there is waiting for me, and that I will go there and find them. That makes me feel excited and full of adrenaline. Then it goes away and I don't think about it, but seeing some things reminds me of that. I recall being happy, really, trully happy and then I get the feeling that something has been taken away from me. Something that is mine and that I need.
Since I have not been to that place, ever, and knew no one that would wait for me there, and nothing and no one is taken away from me...
Could this be past life related?
If it is, what can I do about it?

I'm sorry that I ask so many questions lately , it's just that this all is stuff that made me wonder for a long time, but I never knew about past lifes or the possibility of knowing more about them. And no one I know would be able to give me answers, so..I hope you don't mind much :)

Strong reactions are usually a good indicator regardless, but I can particularly identify with the ripped away feeling. I felt that way when I was looking at photos of my past self.

I think in general too, any haunting, lingering unexplained feelings of loss would be a strong indication of some past life connection.

you should do some research on the area and see if it trigges anything else.

Is it someplace you could get to in this life? Some people here have actually visited sites of PLs and suspected PLs.

Shiftkitty, I can't go there. It is far away and I don't think I would be welcome there anways.

Totoro, I did. I found some more photos and I have feelings so to say, but not memories.

Thank you for replying

Feelings is enough to go on :)

For the record, I've only had one distinct, on it's own memory, but plenty of feelings and they got me to the right place regardless.

Hello Irina,

First never apologize for asking questions here... that's what we're all about. You may ask all you want. I like your questions, they're sincere and from the heart.

The one you ask above hits home with me... directly! I felt the same longing, same sad loneliness, emptiness in every breath. I guess I still do. But what I came to understand and accept is that these feeling are all apart of my journey. I accept them as a part of me... not bad, not ugly, not to be feared... but simply to BE. I use them in my meditation practice to deepen my spiritual senses. A wise Buddhist nun, Pema Chadron, says that these feelings are moments of clarity; they are there for us to learn from and show us where we are holding back in our lives.

As I believe Totoro said above these emotions and feelings are certainly indicators of past life memories. What to do about it? Well first thing: Accept it as a wonderful gift and sit in wonder of it. Second deepen your mental and spiritual awareness of it. Many people, yours truly included, practice meditation. I can say personally that in my years of regular daily meditation I have found great joy in all of it. Contemplation, in a sacred way, allows for the greater understanding of life's mysteries. Thirdly, express it! In some creative way release these feeling, either through writing, painting, singing etc... find away for your soul to render the energy that has carried over from that life to now. I bet it will be beautiful in its own way.

Embrace the beauty... there's no room for fear, only clear eyed wonder of the unraveling mystery!!

Happy trails

Thank you!

I do sometimes meditate, usually when I feel scared or upset about something, I'll try to do it more often from now on.

And something more..

If I was something bad in one of my past lifes...

Actually, if I supported someone who did wrong things and been proud of that, do I have to pay for that in this life? Or I have a right to be "healed" from that, as do the victims?

Irina,

I think we each have lessons to learn in each life. Perhaps in that life the lessons were learned by witnessing what was going on or by dealing with the guilt feelings later in life for what happened?

Or, perhaps was there a soul that you had made a life plan with for the event to happen so each of you could learn? There is so much more to life that we will ever know.

Okay, so it's been a month since then , and I still have that feeling. Actually, it's gotten worse, and nothing makes me happy, because I always have a feeling of missing something. I don't feel anything-joy or sorrow, untill I look at pictures of that place, when I feel just pain. And then again nothing. I got two memories about that place since then, quite randomly, without actually trying to remember.

As Totoro mentioned: "Strong reactions are usually a good indicator" and I have found this to be generally true, of a Past Life (PL).

For instance, the famed WWII singer, Vera Lynn (now Lady Vera Lynn) elicits a response in me that is eerie, even as a child, her singing of "We'll Meet Again" sends chills through me, as if it was my favorite song in a PL.

Will I ever visit England in this lifetime, I'd love to, but I don't see it happening, unless I win a lottery of some kind, but even then, I have issues with my health that might preclude me from traveling.

However I can't shake the feeling that I left somebody behind, a lover, a wife, somebody that waited for me to come home from the war, and never did, and I wonder if that person is in this lifetime, who is it, and would I know them if I met them?

Only time will tell and then one day I'll know, until then, onward through the fog :)

I think it's her voice. In this particular song it has a very sad, melancholy feeling. She conveys a lot of emotions in this one piece (I am not familiar with her other work), and given the context of the times it was released in, it's easy to imagine the uncertainty of a parting. As I read in a book, "Joinings mean much or little, but partings can mean forever." Everything about the recording, even to the techincal aspects, conveys a sense of nostalgia and sorrow.

I can understand how you feel, Irina, and, being new to this forum, I'm just so glad I found a place where I can be open about how I've felt for a long time!

I've also lived a former life in another country, in Ancient Egypt. I've always had a very strong longing to go back "home" to Egypt, but didn't get chance until last year, and then only for a short vacation. Whilst there, I felt so at home, so at peace, and such a love for Egypt, it was indescribable. Unfortunately I couldn't stay, and my personal circumstances are such that I may never have chance to go again, a fact that makes me very sad.

I also remembered during past life regression how happy I was in Ancient Egypt with the man I was married to, and how this happiness was cruelly snatched away when he got killed. I have not met him again in this life and feel that he has not been reincarnated, but I cannot describe in words how much I miss him! My heart longs to be with him again, to be in his presense, to look at him once more! The whole thing breaks my heart and I only hope he is watching over me from the other side until I cross over again.
