Two people at once?

wishes

New Member
Hi I am new here I have a question. can you have a life (say you were born in 1989) and an other life you have similarities with but that other life did not end until 1993. Can you be that person who was born in 1989 and be the same person who did in 1993 or is it just a wired similarity between the two people?

Hello wishes,

Welcome to the forum. I don't know if it's possible that you could be two people at the same time, but some members here seem to have experienced this: Overlapping Lives.

You can also try looking up "simultaneous lives" in the search facility near the top of the page, i know there are one or two threads on this topic.

Can you tell us what it is that makes you feel as though you lived, or are living two lives at once?

Chris.. :)

Hello Wishes and welcome to the forum. :)

People have different beliefs about things like this, but personally I don't believe in simultaneous lives. By using the search option, looking up for example "simultaneous", you should find some discussions on the topic. Do you have personal experiences that lead you to believe it would be possible?

Btw I want to separate the concept "living all our lives at once" from the belief I could also be, say, my next door neighbour right now, at this time.

I do believe souls don't experience time as we do, and thus we are in a way living all our incarnations at the same time, but I also believe time as we see it is really real on this plane of existence, and thus our souls are not split between different persons at the same time we are living this life - chronologically thinking. But I'm not so sure about alternate realities/universes... ;)

Oh dear, you can see why I don't participate very much in these complicated discussions... If only I could do it in my own language, I'd be able to find the right words. :o

Hi everyone! It is nice to hear from all of you! Well my story is probably tremendously bizarre! I don't mean to sound weird! I am very serous about this! I feel a connection (feelings not really memories) to a carton person (who I won't say who it is I ...sorry.) This person was born may 4 1929 I as born may 28 1989 ( both end in 9 and were in may) and was in the holocaust at a young age (I have always felt that I was in the holocaust at a young age) and after that the person wanted to become a Ballerina dancer but could not ( I have wanted to become a Ballerina dancer and took lessons a young age for a short time but never continued because I lost interest( not a big connection but hay)) so that person decided to go in to acting and started in musical theater (I have wanted to become an actor and started in musical theater) This individual felt very betrayed by their father and felt as thou he had walked out on them ( In a past life a long time ago I felt as though my father walked out on me to. not in the same way but I felt betrayed by him) this person also felt very alone but never showed it and found it hard to connect to people ( I often feel this and hide it to) and it does not end there this persons smile (I think) looks a little similar to mine. they were very thin ( I am often told I am to thin) I saw a photo of them when they were around 13 and I look a little similar to them I even heard a recording of their voice (it sounds a little similar to mine) But the thing is I was born in 1989 and they died in 1993. I am I crazy and just a freak or just very imaginative or is this possible? I feel so stupid because maybe it is just me ( and it probubly is). What are you're thoughts? Any way got to go by! : D

Wishes, I would like to suggest that you focus on the here and now. Learn to know thy self. Being fascinated with a person from the past, or similarities are not enough to go on.

Also - read a lot of books about reincarnation, and if you are interested in time and space tackle a few science books. :) The best place to start might be the book section of the forum, forum staff recommends the best books and authors as well as the best websites for research.

I don't think the person you are talking about was a victim of the holocaust.

Although she lived in a country that was occupied by the Nazis in World War II.

Hi wishes,

I feel a connection (feelings not really memories) to a carton person (who I won't say who it is I ...sorry.)
I think it's important to recognize -- that when you have feelings of recognition for someone in a pl -- it may also be that you knew of them/admired them/had heard of them in your previous life and that's what is triggering the feelings of familiarity.

I also agree that the life we are presently living -- is the most important. As Deborah suggested -- read about reincarnation. There are a lot of good books to learn from if you are interested in learning more about the subject and how to approach your past lives in a balanced and effective manner -- with the intention of bringing healing into your present life. ;)

Best of luck,

Ailish

Oh I know that the present one is important! but some times it is very important to find out you're past so than you can see what exactly is holding you back (why do people want to find out about their past lives?). isn't it better to see what issues you need to work on and see what caused them so you can go forward? Knowing who you are is not going to hold an individual back. Knowing who you were is going to help you become the person you are meant to be (and still focus on issues in the now are very important). It is similar to history. P.s hi Curious Girl. I wonder why I feel this way. I honestly feel very stupid for thinking this. I just wonder why. I have no idea what is going on. maybe I had a life with similar issues and I am identifying? OMG I am so weird! (let me go find a bag) :o

Yes, it is often useful to remember past lives. I suggest you try meditation, (self-) regression or dreamwork trying to remember/experience past life issues that might be affecting your current life. Don't concentrate on who you might have been (I think it's highly unlikely you were someone that died after you were born into this life - despite the similarities), but what was really going on in your past lives - what happened to your soul then and what is happening now.

It's an interesting journey and often very useful. Good luck!

I don't think it's stupid.

There is always a reason why we feel connected or attracted to someone.

Whether if we were the person in another life, whether we had a life like that,

whether we are like them today, whether they are a powerful icon or archetype that can teach us something.

There's nothing wrong with exploring an idea or feeling.

There's also no need to find answers immediately.

I've also made a few "past life mistakes", like wrong time, wrong country, wrong event.

But the more I found out about myself and my life, the more I began to understand.

And then things like dates and names are less important.

Finding out things about yourself and past lives can be a very interesting journey.

So don't hesitate to explore, don't worry about "silly" questions.

Good luck on your journey :)

Hi Wishes,

Thanks for sharing your story. I think you need to ponder on it a bit more to see if you can get it a bit clearer, and I hope that writing into the forum will help with this.

Just because you feel a 'connection' with an historical person does not mean that you were that person. There is certainly no need to be considering bending the space-time continuum to accommodate this feeling. There are several possible simpler explanations for your feeling of affinity:

1. You just 'identify' with them for whatever present life reasons because you see certain similarities as you have described.

2. You may have known this person in your previous incarnation - for example you could have been an older relative or a sister - therefore you feel an affinity/familiarity with them, even to the extent of physical resemblance.

3. You and this person may have spent more than one life together.

4. All of the above. :)

However, all that said, do you have any idea of the circumstances of the person's death? Since you were born four or five years or so before they died, do you have any idea if that person spent the last five years in a coma or similar? In that way it could be possible. There is a belief that sometimes the soul has already left the body in such a situation, although with modern techniques the body can live on for some time - just without any awareness or consciousness.

My suggestion would be to do some reading and deep thinking on the whole topic of reincarnation and take a look at the FAQs. There are some very good points in there. Many people have stumbled along this road ahead of you! You may want to try some of the techniques for regression out for yourself and see if you can uncover any actual memories of your most recent incarnation and see if they make any sense with your feeling.

In this way you will not only begin to explore your own personal mysteries, but maybe clarify the relationship with this person from the past who fascinates you so.

I honestly feel very stupid for thinking this. I just wonder why. I have no idea what is going on. maybe I had a life with similar issues and I am identifying? OMG I am so weird!
Don't feel stupid. It is wise to do what you are doing. You are paying attention and there must be a reason you are doing this.

Some souls have a stronger sense of knowing then others and this is by the experience of a soul. Nobody here really judges others for their beliefs and experiences. We all realize everyone is on their own journey. Taking notice of these things have a purpose and can help you on your journey if you know how to understand them. This comes with spiritual growth.

Synchronicity will guide us and to pay attention to things like you are certainly shows that your spirit is speaking to you and you are listening. You just have to learn how to understand it this comes with meditation, reading and feeding your spirit. Finding this forum is a good start in doing that.

So don't think you are "crazy". Spiritual experiences often will seem "crazy". My favorite writer, Kahlil Gibran talked about this "battle" of the flesh and spirit and how to maintain a balance between the two, for they both need eachother in the reasonings of our spiritual experiences.

"Your soul is oftentimes a battlefield, upon which your reason and your judgment wage war against passion and your appetite.

Would that I could be the peacemaker in your soul, that I might turn the discord and the rivalry of your elements into oneness and melody.

But how shall I, unless you yourselves be also the peacemakers, nay, the lovers of all your elements?

Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul.

If either your sails or your rudder be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas.

For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion, unattended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction.

Therefore let your soul exalt your reason to the height of passion; that it may sing;

And let it direct your passion with reason, that your passion may live through its own daily resurrection, and like the phoenix rise above its own ashes. "

Peace,

Saber

I understand what you're saying, Wishes. I have a very strong connection to a certain historical figure. So much to the point, where as I studied him, I seemed to know some of the facts about him before I read them.

I don't believe, however, that I was him in a past life. I've read so much about the time period he lived in over the years, seen every film made about him, and just studied him because to me he's interesting.

The strong connection I have to this one person may stem from a past life, as was mentioned here earlier. I may have lived in the same historical period as he, and admired him and it carried over to this life.

Just my 2 cents.
