Hello,
Until recently I would hardly have considered getting involved in a reincarnation forum. But the more I learn about my seemingly innate interest in certain times and places, combined with what seem to be memories, attributes and deep rooted fears connected with them, and the passion I have for uncovering truths in these periods of history and telling the world about them, makes me feel almost certain that somehow I have been there.
I have had an affinity for many things German and military related for most of my life. Ever since I was old enough to talk I would sometimes speak with a very British accent. Yet, oddly enough, whenever I would hear someone speak with a German accent, it sounded normal and familiar to me, even before having had any exposure to German speech, nor had I yet learned anything about Germany or her people.
Later on, everything German would always grab my attention. When I saw films and photos depicting WWI or WWII scenes, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of familiarity and belonging with the German armies. I used to suppress this as the conventional view of history pressured me into seeing them as the enemy.
I have also had several unusual fears throughout my life. As a small child when I first saw headless mannequins, it left a deep impression on me, and I even had my own name for them, “Kopie-kopies” which I found out years later is oddly similar to the German words “kopf” and “kopflos” which mean “head” and “headless” respectively. These kopie-kopies would appear in my dreams in groups to surround me and speak in strange voices, sometimes in a different, slavic sounding language. I was afraid of them for several years of my childhood. Another intense phobia I remember having early on, which still shows up in nightmares when I am stressed, is seeing human skulls and sometimes whole skeletons. Often the skulls are dirty or sometimes charred, and I have had dreams of burning skulls or skeletons. Fire tends to stress me, and I despise and can feel very sick about the harm it can inflict on living beings. I have also had a bit of both a fascination with and aversion to furnaces and black stoves.
Claustrophobia is another one. I am uncomfortable in rooms with a low ceiling, especially if there are no windows, and the room is lit with artificial lighting, or if the walls and ceiling are constructed of a heavy material such as metal, concrete or stone. I have had dreams of being in a dank, cluttered, man-made tunnel with an unpleasant musty smell and an atmosphere which I can only describe as cold and hostile. I’ve dreamed of being in a prison camp, not as an inmate but with a group of others in soldier’s uniforms, looking on at a few starving children who have obviously been through much suffering (one of them seemed to be blind and was wheezing), feeling of course troubled and angry at their plight but also involved in it without much choice in the matter. I held no bitterness toward my fellow soldiers, however.
I have dreamed of narrow hallways in plain looking houses with white or gray walls, and I can remember in at least one or two of these dreams that in one of the rooms was a narrow, iron-railed staircase which led down to an underground waterway of some sort with floors, walls and ceiling of very thick concrete (See sketch).
I have always had a natural feel for riding horses, operating machinery and shooting guns. The concept of German cavalry during both World Wars -but especially WWI- has always instilled a certain appeal and excitement in me.
Some less grim memories are of places I have visited in dreams several days apart. One of them is of a large house/small castle on a hill in a forested, mountainous area (see sketch). I had never seen this place in real life, but I dreamed about it twice six years ago. In the first dream I went to this place with my brother (as my present self) on a dark, cloudy evening in the winter. There was snow on the ground and it was getting dark. I went inside and upstairs, the interior was mostly of dark, carved hardwood. I came out of a window or door on an upper floor, down some steps and into the yard behind the place, where I stood looking up at the walls, before going back to find my brother and head back home. That’s when I woke up. It was about a month later when I had my last dream of that place. This one was in late winter or early spring, about noon. There was no snow on the ground and the sky was clear. I went inside and upstairs, out the window and onto an extension on the back wall of the house, where I found myself looking down into the top of this extension, which almost resembled a large chimney, into blackness. Suddenly the hole appeared closed off and I was hearing voices and seeing people around me. Men from the early 20th century were there, doing repairs on the place, and I was a small boy near six years of age, standing on this platform and watching the workers below me. The stairs down to the yard were not complete. A man I recognized as my father in that life in a dark brown coat and German hat was standing just below me, and I asked him to help me down. I saw my older sister (I have no such sister in my present life). She was between 11 and 13 years old, with long, dark hair in two braids. My appearance was like the boy on the sled in the photo below. I don’t remember much else from this experience.
So many of these things and more seem to suggest the experiences of many lives who lived in overlapping time periods, which I don’t know how is quite possible in terms of reincarnation.
Any insights, theories, opinions or questions one might have are appreciated!
