Suddenly understanding so much

Let me start by saying I have always believed in fate. As a college student, I studied sign language and a few years later I met and married a wonderful deaf man. I have received information from my higher self that we agreed to come here together. Despite this information, I have always felt a crippling fear that I would lose him.

Next, I must add that my youngest daughter (a surprise baby that I was impregnated with just days before I was to start birth control) and I have had a rough start in this life. She is so needy of me in a way that my other children were not.

During a PLR session I did on my own, I discovered that in a previous life, I was married to my current husband. We were so happy and in love. Upon delivering my first child in that life (my daughter mentioned above), I died.

Do you think my fears of life without my husband and my daughter's neediness for me are related to this ? My husband just says "its possible" but doesn't exactly hold the same beliefs as me.

I would love some feedback from others with more knowledge than I have. Thanks for your time. :)

Hello Kendrah, Welcome to the forum. The scenario you describe certainly sounds like the typical influences of a past life. I can relate in several ways. I believe we do carry with us (into future lives) the traumas of great sorrow, and the passion of great loves. And for those of us in-tune with the concept of reincarnation they provide us with an understanding of our existence in such a deep a meaningful way. My case was great sorrow at the death of my family and the mental break down that resulted. These traumas, when discovered, could be dangerous to a novice who didn't have a grip on the idea that this is a new life, a new set of realities. It would be easy to slip into dysfunction, panic, and deep confusion. But on the other hand for those of us who have that "grip" we see the past not as something to rehash and revisit now, but as insight to the journey our soul has been on... and the lessons we might learn from them, grow from them, and mature as souls from them. Stay totally calm and in meditation or quiet reflection accept your past revelations and contemplate their meaning in this life. It sounds to me like you are already doing that.

I would suggest maintaining a journal of your thoughts and memories. Not so much as a record, but as a way of processing these things. It is amazing to me that we can write these things that so confuse us today, and then reread them years down the line and see even deeper meaning. And I would recommend many of the books in our book section. Dr. Brian Weiss was very helpful to me in understanding the process of trauma and its manifestation in future lives. I think it was called, Many Lives Many Masters, but there are many out there. If we can be of assistance please ask. And again welcome.

I will definitely look into those titles. Thanks so much for the reply!

While the experience was profound, I was only able to see a few snippits of that life. I tried to see more, but could sense that I would only see the things applicable at this time. I have experienced other PLR but never anything that I could gleam any use of. (For example, I have seen myself as a tribal woman in a rain forest) I would love to learn to better control when I am "there".

I am also interested in the concept of soul retrieval. Do you know anything about that?

I only know of it from reading here and there. And I believe I saw a book titled Soul Retrieval somewhere in my travels. Sorry that's not very helpful, but run it by Google and see what they offer. As with all searches of such nature be prepared to take it all with a grain of salt and a pinch of wisdom. I believe one of our greatest gifts from the Creator (whom ever you think She is) is the gift of discernment... the ability to take in information and process it judiciously and with caution. That being said... and my discernment on alert, I love exploring these things. Good luck. Tell me what you learn. ~Tman

Here is a pretty easy to understand explanation. Basically, through your traumatic experiences during this lifetime, the website explains that you soul can fracture. Basically, a part of your spirit "dies". Shamans, or the western world equivalent, pair up with a spirit friend and search for these lost parts of you.

I have a friend who has studied with shamans in Mexico. I am considering going for some energy work. I am apprehensive because I am a diy person and I like to accomplish things for myself (with feedback from others, of course)

I am able to easily connect with my spirit guide (who is my former grandmother) so I may try and do it myself, if I can find a how to. :)
