Reincarnation music/Songs about reincarnation (merged)

This is a great thread!

I have often refer to Sting and Steven Wonder as spiritual bards and I love both of them tremendously.

I recent heard an instrumental song: Arrival of the Birds by the Cinematic Orchestra. It is on the Disney documentary about flamingos: The Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos.

Anyone notice the similarities in the deaths in these lives? That's the sort of pattern that I'm seeing with the people that I guide to past-lives. The first death was hanging, the next two were falling i.e. similar.

Does anyone else have memories / info about multiple past-lives in one person with similar themes in those lives?

BTW I too really like this song. When I first heard it I was confused by the different singers. I thought there was someone that could mimic other singers.

Before I was even aware of reincarnation I loved the country song 'The Highwayman'. It was sung by Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristoferson, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Cash. When I became aware of reincarnation I just shook my head and wondered how I could be so blind as not to see what everything around me, including this song, were telling me. The song neither glorifies nor degrades reincarnation. It comes from people I would never expect to even hear the word from and made an even bigger impact because it did. I have included the lyrics.
I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride

With sword and pistol by my side

Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade

Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade

The ******** hung me in the spring of twenty-five

But I am still alive.

I was a sailor. I was born upon the tide

And with the sea I did abide.

I sailed a schooner round the Horn to Mexico

I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow

And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed

But I am living still.

I was a dam builder across the river deep and wide

Where steel and water did collide

A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado

I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below

They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound

But I am still around..I'll always be around..and around and around and

around and around

I fly a starship across the Universe divide

And when I reach the other side

I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can

Perhaps I may become a highwayman again

Or I may simply be a single drop of rain

But I will remain

And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again..

Also, the Indigo Girls have a song called "Galileo" with a plaintive refrain, "how long 'til my soul gets it right?" They actually mention the word "reincarnation" in it. Good music, too.
Yes, it is. And it's pretty obviously about reincarnation... it never occurred to me that it could be about anything else, really.

Lyrics:

Galileo's head was on the block
The crime was looking up the truth

And as the bombshells of my daily fears explode

I try to trace them to my youth

And then you had to bring up reincarnation

Over a couple of beers the other night

And now I'm serving time for mistakes

Made by another in another lifetime

How long 'til my soul gets it right?

Can any human being ever reach that kind of light?

I call on the resting soul, of Galileo

King of night vision, king of insight

And then I think about my fear of motion

Which I never could explain

Some other fool across the ocean years ago

Must have crashed his little airplane

How long 'til my soul gets it right?

Could any human being ever reach that kind of light?

I call on the resting soul, of Galileo

King of night vision, king of insight

I'm not making a joke,

You know me, I take everything so seriously

If we wait for the time 'til all souls get it right

Then at least I know there'll be no nuclear annihilation

In my lifetime, I'm still not right

I offer thanks to those before me

That's all I've got to say

'Cause maybe you squandered big bucks in your lifetime

Now i have to pay...

But then again it feels like some sort of inspiration

To let the next life off the hook

Or she'll say "look what I had to overcome from my last life

I think I'll write a book!"

How long 'til my soul gets it right?

Can any human being ever reach the highest light?

Except for (the resting soul) Galileo, God rest his soul (of Galileo)

King of night vision, king of insight...

How long...? (until my soul gets it right)

('Til we reach the highest light)

How long...? ('til my soul gets it right)

('Til we reach the highest light)

How long...
Oh, and there's "Secret Separation" by The Fixx.

Lyrics:

We are passengers in time
Lost in motion, locked together

Day and night, by trick of light

But I must take another journey

We must meet with other names

We must meet with other names

You touched my heart so deeply

You rescued me now free me

Don't watch me cry just see me go

I'll take away the strongest feelings

You will ever know

There will be no more isolation

In our secret separation

You touched my heart so deeply, you rescued me

Now free me

We are passengers in time

Lost in motion, locked together

Day and night, by trick of light

But I must take another journey

We must meet with other names

If you hold me you will hurt me

Be brave

There will be no more isolation

In our secret separation

You touched my heart so deeply, you rescued me

Now free me

We are matching spark and flame

Caught in endless repetition

Life for life we'll be the same

I must leave before you burn me

I am the stranger who deserts you only to love you

In another life

There will be no more isolation

In our secret separation

You touched my heart so deeply, you rescued me

Now free me

I'll bear one precious scar that only you will know

Passengers in time, free me

(repeat x5)
I'd say that's pretty unambiguous, wouldn't you?

Iron Maiden has a song called:

The Reincarnation of Benjamin? Breeg

Let me tell you 'bout my life,

Let me tell you 'bout my dreams,

Let me tell you 'bout the thing that happen, all is real to me.

Let me tell you of my hope, of my need to reach the sky,

Let me take you on an awkward journey, let me tell you why.

Let me tell you why

Why should these curses be laid upon me,

I won't be forgiven 'til I can break free,

What did I do to deserve all this guilt,

Pay for my sins, for the sale of my soul.

Demons are trapped all inside my head,

My hopes of god, reach for heaven from hell,

My sins are many, my guilt is too heavy,

The question of knowing of how then what I know?

I'm able to see things, things that I don't wanna see,

The lives of a thousand souls, weighing down on me

I know they're crying for help reaching out

The burden of them will take me down as well

The sin of a thousand souls knocked out in vain

Reincarnation of me live again

Someone to save me,

Something to save me from myself

To bring salvation

To exorcise this hell

Someone to save me,

Something to save me from myself

To bring Salvation

To exorcise this hell

Someone to save me

Something to save me from my hell

Our destination away from this nightmare

Someone to save me

Something to save me from myself

To bring salvation

To exorcise this hell

If I had ever been here before I would probably know just what to do
Don't you?

If I had ever been here before on another time around the wheel

I would probably know just how to deal

With all of you.

And I feel

Like I've been here before

Feel

Like I've been here before

And you know

It makes me wonder

What's going on under the ground

Do you know?

Don't you wonder?

What's going on down under you.

We have all been here before

We have all been here before

We have all been here before

We have all been here before
Great melody to this song.

Crosby Stills Nash & Young-Deja Vu

"Fear and Loathing" by Marina and the Diamonds:

I've lived a lot of different lives
Been different people many times

I live my life in bitterness

And fill my heart with emptiness

And now I see, I see it for the first time,

There is no crime in being kind

Not everyone is out to screw you over.

Maybe, oh just maybe they just wanna get to know ya.

Now the time is here,

Baby you don't have to live your life in fear

And the sky is clear, is clear of fear

Don't wanna live in fear and loathing

I wanna feel like I am floating

Instead of constantly exploding

In fear and loathing

Got different people inside my head

I wonder which one that they like best

I'm done with tryin' to have it all

And endin' up with not much at all.

And now the time is here,

Baby you don't have to live your life in fear

And the sky is clear, is clear of fear

Of fear

Don't wanna live in fear and loathing

I wanna feel like I am floating

Instead of constantly exploding

In fear and loathing.

And when the time comes along

And the lights run out,

I know where I will belong

When they blow me out.

Don't wanna live in fear and loathing

I wanna feel like I am floating

Instead of constantly exploding

In fear and loathing.

I wanna be completely weightless

I wanna touch the edge of greatness

Don't wanna be completely faithless

Completely faithless.

When the time comes around

When the lights will go out

When the time comes around

When the lights they go out.
Pretty melody, but the lyrics are very striking to hear.

I'm unsure if this song is actually about reincarnation, but from the moment I heard it it made me feel it was about lives lived and loves lost~

Never Forget - Greta Salóme & Jónsi

She‘s singing softly in the night

Praying for the morning light

She dreams of how they used to be

At dawn they will be free.

Memories they haunt his mind

Save him from the endless night

She whispers warm and tenderly

Please come back to me.

And when the golden sun arises far across the sea

The dawn will break as darkness fades forever we‘ll be free.

Never forget what I did, what I said

When I gave you all my heart and soul.

Morning will come and I know we‘ll be one

Cause I still believe that you‘ll remember me.

She mourns beneath the moonlit sky

Remembering when they said goodbye

Where‘s the one he used to know

It seems so long ago.

And when the golden sun arises far across the sea

The dawn will break as darkness fades forever we‘ll be free.

Never forget what I did, what I said

When I gave you all my heart and soul.

Morning will come and I know we‘ll be one

Cause I still believe that you‘ll remember me!

Ooohhh

Never forget what I did, what I said

When I gave you all my heart and soul.

Morning will come and I know we’ll be one

Cause I still believe that you’ll remember me!

Oh I still believe that you’ll remember me!

Oh I still believe that you’ll remember me!

I used to really love and still love Talking Heads, especially "This must be the place" : It really gets me, it´s not obviously about reincarnation though...

Home is where I want to be

Pick me up and turn me round

I feel numb, burn with a weak heart

I guess I must be having fun

The less we say about it the better

Make it up as we go along

Feet on the ground

Head in the sky

It's ok I know nothing's wrong...nothing

Hi yo I got plenty of time

Hi yo you got light in your eyes

And you're standing here beside me

I love the passing of time

Never for money

Always for love

Cover up + say goodnight...say goodnight

Home, is where I want to be

But I guess I'm already there

I come home, she lifted up her wings

Guess that this must be the place

I can't tell one from another

Did I find you, or you find me?

There was a time before we were born

If someone asks, this where I'll be where I'll be [/b
]

Hi yo we drift in and out

Hi yo sing into my mouth

Out of all tose kinds of people

You got a face with a view

I'm just an animal looking for a home

Share the same space for a minute or two

And you love me till my heart stops

Love me till I'm dead

Eyes that light up, eyes look through you

Cover up the blank spots

Hit me on the head ah ooh

Nice lyrics, have you picked out a tune to the words yet, what genre of music would you use???

Talking Heads is a good group, I believe they sang "Burning Down The House" which I like.

IMHO Talking Heads is in the same vein as Fine Young Canibals and Toad the Wet Sprocket.

As you can see, I like all types of music, but not rap music, especially those songs preaching violence.

There is enough violence in the World already!!!
