Random Memories

Hm, no, I don't think that I felt detached in my dream at all, strangely enough. I was definitely asleep when I had the dream, but I think I was nearly awake, anyway. If I felt any particular emotion while I was having that flashback, I think that I felt mostly just sort of sad, but resolute, and looking foward to finding a husband for some reason, even though I knew in my dream that I didn't know who I was going to marry yet.

From my lifetime in the 1800's British Navy, I had this small flashback where I found myself on my hands and knees scrubbing the deck of the ship with a stone. The deck had been covered with sand in order to make the process more effective. My knees were grazed and bleeding where the sand had worn through my skin :(

Does anybody else have any random memories to share?

Two days ago I saw something that just brought my universe to a screeching halt. I saw an old car that looked very familiar to me. I literally started following this car. I didn't know by looking at it what kind of car it was, but I needed to know. It pulled into a parking lot and parked. I drove by and got a good look. It was a Plymouth Road Runner. I was sure I recognized it from my last life. I went home and googled it. They were manufactured between 1968-1980, so it definately would have fit into the timeline of my last life.

Today it occured to me where I remembered that car from. I had a memory one day of going on a weekend road trip during my college days in my last life. There were five of us that went. My friend Beth and I went with three guys. It was a 2-door coupe and three of us had to ride in the back. It was hot (no air conditioning) and cramped in that back seat. I remember I was wearing jeans and kicking myself for not wearing shorts. The car belonged to one of the guys, and I just figured it out today that his car was a Road Runner. That's why that car I saw two days ago was so familiar.

Truthseeker,

I'm curious as to why seeing this car had such a great impact on you. Were you in this car when you died in your past life?

No, I don't think that car had any involvement in my death. I just have very specific memories about that road trip. I had a group that I hung out with, and he was the only one that had a car at that time. So, if we went somewhere, we always went in his car. I just have fond memories of that time (as brief as it was) because of the freedom I had. Those freedoms and the opportunity for higher education were not available to me in other lifetimes.

Does anybody else have any random memories to share? Here is one I remembered during a meditation yesterday:

It was very cold, damp and foggy and I was climbing a footpath which zig-zagged up the side of a steep hill. At the end of the path there was a small rocky outcrop which I used as a foothold to make several attempts to climb up onto a road, where there was a man on a horse waiting for me, another horse by his side which was clearly intended for me.

We rode together to the outskirts of a village, I remember a very high wall to our left, and trees overhanging both sides of the road. I have no idea what our purpose was for being there, and I was curious to know where we were. I was looking around for a sign, when I spotted a signpost pointing towards the village. The name was "Peter....." something like Peterfield or Peterbury? I know that I saw the whole name, but it was quickly forgotten before I could write it down :(

Just a random memory that I can't place in any particular lifetime that I've remembered so far. Anyone else have any random memories?

What an interesting thread! I have a couple random memories I'd like to add.

I have a memory of a large ancient temple somewhere in the middle east. It felt like I worked there maybe as a priestess and in my memory I only saw the outside with massive carvings and the surrounding landscape (a plain with mountains or hills very far away). Strange emotion attached to this like a feeling of loss and helplessness. Not sure what to make of it.

Also have a brief memory of walking past a beautifully decorated Islamic building in a marketplace. This time period felt very old but I have no idea as to a date. It was very dusty and the sun was so hot and brilliant. I was a woman and wearing heavy clothing and some type of veil across my face. It was a very quick memory but the emotion I felt was very distinct - I was really, really bored.

I also have several memories of very large eastern European buildings like in a city center and horse drawn carts and very early cars rattling around. Also of watching a ballet from high up in a theatre. I think these memories belong to my life as a Jewish woman from Poland during WWII but I guess they could equally be from another life I don't yet know of prior to that.

Hello everyone!

Being new to the forum I have a random memory that I would like to share.

A little background first if I may. I have had this same thought many times in my life, and was always curious about the possibility of past lives, but never gave it any serious consideration until now.

I have always been fascinated with WW2. Especially the German side of the war. Mainly the Russian front. I have read many books on the subject, and watched many movies. I am simply obsessed with it sometimes! Many photos that I have seen in books have seemed familiar to me even though I have never been there before! I feel that I have been to some places in Russia in a past life!

My vision that I have had is of a small group of soldiers walking in a snowstorm. There are probably less than a dozen of us. I am in the lead, and ordering the others to follow me. So I assume that maybe I am in command as an NCO OR Officer. The land is flat terrain, bleak, with snow everywhere as far as the eye can see. There's about 8 inches of snow we are trudging through. We are all talking amongst ourselves, and are in good spirits, laughing and joking. My thoughts as I'm walking is one of confidence, but apprehension at how bad this snowstorm is getting. I feel as though I am thinking "Jesus is this snow ever going to let up?" It's cold, but not unbearably so. The war seems distant as we are walking.

The memory is only a few seconds.

I have had this memory at least a dozen times in my life.

It seems to be triggered by me being in heavy snow and cold, coupled with stress. Not always though.

The uniforms are clear in this memory. They are German. Not White but with a somewhat camouflage pattern. I am carrying a bolt action rifle. I am thinking that maybe with the confidence that I am feeling in the vision is maybe we are SS, or that it is early in the war maybe. I don't know. There is like a "fish net" on the helmets.

This memory seems so real when I have it. Overactive imagination or past life?

Hello alpha480v, welcome to the forum.

I think an obsession with certain time periods in history that go way beyond mere interest are a good indication of a possible past life. I think many people like yourself don't take this into consideration and dismiss these things as an overactive imagination. But imagination is an intentional thought, do you find that these 'memories' of yours surface from nowhere when you are least expecting them to?

Do you mind me asking roughly how old were you when you started having the visions? And when your fascination with WW2 began? Maybe a regression or meditation can help you to find out more if you're interested? There are different ways of doing this either by yourself or with a therapist, and a lot of useful tips are already here in the forum should you decide to pursue your past lives any further.

Chris :)

Welcome to the forum Alpha480v!

Your description of the German helmet with "fish" netting is authentic, although, somewhat rare; so it might have been issued only to those of higher rank, or units of distinction. The netting actually looks like chicken wire, laid over the helmet. It's made of hemp twine and is interlaced with black thread. Metal hooks are used to hold it fast to the outer rim of the helmet. You probably already know that this netting was used to tuck leaves, branches and grass in order to serve as camouflage. The U.S. soldiers of WWII had similar netting, but in a diamond pattern.

It's details like this that can help you to establish more credibility for yourself.

As Chris said, there are a lot of good tips on this forum, as well as resources for regression, reasearch, and the like.

I have memories of walking around a very crowded eastern market place thinking that it wold be just terrible to be one of the sellers because you would have to continually watch over the things you were selling so nobody could steal them. Then I did steal things and felt no remorse.

Since I was a child I had memories of places I couldn't possibly have been or people and situations I certainly didn't have any experience of in this life. My mother told me many times about my weird questions about places she assured me I had never been. She was very patient about it and once, when I was about four, I remember she even drove me around all day to help me find the house I insisted so much it was my home, the place where I claimed I lived. We never did find that house but I can still picture it in my mind.

Before she passed away about a year ago we talked about reincarnation because she know she was going to die and though she didn't believe in it like me, she found the whole concept interesting and somehow reassuring. Anyway, back to the topic, she told me one more time about all my enquires so that I could keep those memories with me.

I won't list all those things here because they're too many and not enough clear, but I will tell you about the most significant past life memory I have so far.

I always had a clear memory of a homeless young woman, probably living in a big north-american city, but I can't say which one, walking around trying to hide herself from a main street. I remember "knowing" somehow that she had consciously chosen to live that way , even if she probably had a home or a family somewhere. I even recall an older woman, probably her mother, looking for her desperetely, driving around in an old blue station-wagon. I can tell judging by the car and the city it could have been in the late sixties.

This memory always makes me feel very sad, as if I was that young woman, and I always get the feeling that I wasted my life and caused a lot of sorrow. This memory has always been with me for as long as I can remember and it kept on coming back during my dreams or during meditation.

In the nineties a band called Soul Asylum released a song called "Runaway train", the video showed pictures of missing children/teenagers in the US.

When I first saw it I almost felt sick, because I felt like that song talked about me, as if I was one of those missing kids.

My hands still shake now that I'm writing about it.

Sorry I was long....

I remember being in the kitchen of some kind of old stone manor or castle that I used to live in, and looking out of a window which was set into the gray stone wall, over a sort of roughly-hewn wooden table, which was strewn with all sorts of kitchen utensils, bits of food, platters, fish heads and some flour, and seeing a small flock of long-haired white sheep milling around on a very green lawn.

In another life, the second of which (and my favorite of which to remember, I'm almost sorry to say) I can remember most clearly, I remember being outside on a very hot summer's day. At first, like when I first began having this memory, I never thought that it could get really hot, especially on the steppes of Russia, during the Stone Age. But during my meditation practices, when this random memory began to show itself to be in better and better clarity, it was summer and very hot, and something else in my current mindset told me that it was as hot then as it used to be when I lived in the United States, years ago, and it would easily get to be about forty-five degrees Celsius every summer and sometimes stay around that temperature for weeks. Then, I started checking around on the Internet, on scientific websites and the like, to see if it might have still gotten that hot, at least sometimes, in Europe during ancient times. At least a couple of websites I looking at said that it possibly did get very hot in the summertime back then, even in places like Ukraine and Russia. And apparently it still gets beastly hot out on the steppes sometimes, just like in North Carolina. But anyway. I digress, as usual. :butbut:

I remember the process, in that lifetime, of bending down pretty low to get out of the round house my family and I resided in, which, as I've mentioned before in other posts (I just like to mention it again, to get a better feeling for the place myself, whenever I'm writing about it), was constructed of what I assume to be mammoth bones, animal hides, and possible stone as well, especially around the base. Maybe even some wood as well, because I believe I can recall seeing some long, weathered-looking (almost resembling driftwood), crooked tree branches, or maybe even entire small trees with knotted-up roots at the ends. A few of the mammoth bones which were visible underneath their covering of animal hide, possibly also from a mammoth, were cracked and splintered in a few places. And it comes to me now, all of a sudden, that the bones used to construct this house might have been quite old. Maybe even very old, maybe even up to a generation old, because I don't get the feeling that the people in my family were nomads. We kept our house in good repair, or else freeze to death in the winter, but the main bones used to construct the thing were probably never changed. Just things like the hide covering, and this and that. Little things.

Anyway. I digressed again, even though I told myself that I would cease to do that! :( What is the matter with me this morning!? I fear that too much coffee has scrambled my brain. The one special random memory that I originally meant to share with you guys in this post was one in which I bent down, as I already said, moved aside a portion of the heavy animal skin curtain, squinted into the brightness of daylight which assaulted me, and stepped out of the round mammoth bone house. It was high summer, and very hot outside. It had been somehow quite cool indoors, but I started sweating almost as soon as I got out into the fresh air. There was a little warm wind, and I was wearing less clothes, on that day, than I hardly ever did in that life, since it was usually so cold for most of the year. I could feel the sun, beating down on my bare shoulders and burning them. I had a good, brown tan, and my hair was bleached a little from the sun.

There the immediate flashback ends, but now I find myself wondering if that flashback might be related, even by mere minutes, to another flashback I had of the same sort of weather, and the mother I had in that life walking towards me, as I came out of the house, holding a large bunch of stinging nettles in her hands by the roots...?

I have an aversion against marching bands, the sound of the drums coming closer to me makes me feel extremely scared!

I have always had these feelings.

Feels like this aversion comes from some time before my birth.

Apart from that there are very small fragments of memories that come to my mind every now and then, difficult to describe,I also dont know how to hold them .

Wie gehtes, Fraulein Elizabeth!

If your past life was in Europe during the 30's, drums and marching bands were quite prevalent. The National Socialists were especially fond of their drums; and anyone along the main routes during those times could have been quite unnerved at the very least. Anyone overheard criticizing the government during that period would have been profoundly disturbed as they marched closer and closer.

It would be quite interesting to uncover memories with the help of a professional past life therapist. Doing so could help you to verify a past life as well as providing relief for yourself. You should be allowed to enjoy drums and music, because they can be quite stirring in a positive way.

Danke schoen, und auf wiedersehen!

I thought about contacting a therapist but Im kind of scared, dont know if they are all professionals or charlatans...

my past life definitely was in Europe(Germany or England) in the 19th century or the early 20th century.one memory I have is the image of me wearing a white dress, being barefeet and jumping out of a window into a garden. apart from that Im extremely attracted to the 19th century and since I could speak I always said "god made a mistake,i was born 100 years too late".

I would like to see more from my past life but as i said am kind of scared:confused:

Would you be comfortable sharing what it is that scares you? Whatever it is, you can take comfort in knowing that you are likely not alone in that fear.

Please don't let fear and confusion prevent you from experiencing what could be a wonderful revelation. You'll find some very good German language resources here:

http://www.childpastlives.org/vBulletin/showthread.php?t=15413

And, if you prefer to read these materials in English, you'll find plenty of information, if you go to the "Forum Jump" menu (below) and select "BOOKS and LINKS About Reincarnation". You will also find "International Language Sources" just below that, which is where I found the link for the German language resources.

You may also want to keep a pen and pad next to your bed, so that you can write down any dreams that emerge from reading material. There is nothing to fear by pursuing your search. It's no worse than going to a theater and enjoying a movie.

Es gibt nichts, aber gut durch voran.

Nur Gutes kann von der Untersuchung kommen.

Viel Glück!

Well theres not much people around me that do like the idea of reincarnation, most of the people think its nonsense that only crazy people believe in.I think I dont want to experience something that kind of seperates me from other people or that makes me/or them think i might be crazy.

Im trying to learn about how i can recall more of these memories myself, without a therapist.

That is perfectly understandable. Reincarnation is not widely accepted here in the United States either. It is difficult when you are experiencing something profound in your life and you cannot share it with anyone close to you. If you are interested in exploring and sharing your past life experiences, you are in the place. No one here is going to think you are crazy. You will also find there are many resources available to help you without the use of a therapist.

hi, dont really know what to do...

i'm new to this... *nervous giggle* i...i've always remembered things... memories from lives not mine... but recently... its been getting stronger. since i met my best friend in the whole world... a soul i believe i have been with for years...every past life even. we are connected. she remembers me as well. we were born 2 days apart. our mothers went to birth classes together. ect... i call it fate... more recently i've been focusing in on this past. and have remembered alot:

i remember a time back in spain(maybe) i was a man. many people called me Al, but...i try to remember my real name. it did begin with that, and i have the sneaking suspition it was Alexandre-Alexander really, but the other one seems more likely. it was way back... i was a soldierish person. still have some feelings with swords and fighting... i was tall, with a relitvely nice tan body... blackish brown messy hair that i'd sometimes put in a pony tail. but it wouldnt last long. *smiles*-i have people who remember me now. my friend and another less happy to remember me friend....they both say i had black eyes. my friend said they were a nice deep brown, the other one says they were souless and easy to get lost in... each say i was handsome... there was this girl. i knew her for a while. but cant remember when i met her... her name was rose. she wasnt very spanish looking, and had pale/tan skin, long slightly waved blonde hair, and green eyes. her name was Roselina. i called her Rose. she was always getting sick, and didnt have a very strong body. but a firy attitude. i think...no-i loved her. but i never told her. and i cant remember why. every day i'd give her a flower of some sort....and things are hazy with her from there until later... but i remember...i.....///....slept with alot of girls. alot. my reasoning? i dont know... i just did. and there was oliva, a french girl i met at a dance/ball thing. long blonde hair, pale skin, lovely, almost a perfect fit for Rose... but her eyes were blue. a really deep and pretty blue... i didnt love her. but that i didnt tell her. i slept with her, various times... she loved me. found out about all the others though.. sharpened her nails and slapped me, leaving cuts across me face. "lets see how many girls you can seduce with a face like that." but to her dismay... it healed up with no scars. i felt bad... but never did anything about it. the person who she was-he tells me she-he*confusion* she forgave me so many times... but i didnt love her. i loved Rose. but i couldnt have her... there are some other names i remember of the girls. hayle, rachelle...shamefully there were more... *sigh* im shaking right now...calm.....okay....and here.... back to Rose...she had dissapeared. i searched for her frantically, (i cant belive im actually crying...)until it got dark and on... i screamed her name... yelled at people. "where is she?!" the inn keeper near my town had seen her.. she was with a man... i dont know who. i asked him to point me in the direction they went, and kept going. kept running... until.... i found her...after so long, i found my Rose...but it was too late. and she was dead. i would never see her again. i didnt want to live anymore. she was gone and there was nothing i could do...and that is all i remember of that life. i was in my early 20s maybe at this time? i dont know... but now in this life. i am with her, and lucky me,(sarcasm) im a girl. and shes a girl. and i dont swing that way, nor does she. but we are like sisters. *smiles* she remembers stuff too, but not as much.

i also remember being a maid, dark hair blue eyes, paleish skin. against my mistress' consent, i do believe i was sold, raped in a carrage, and killed. yay me~ugh....

and i was a native american, running though the woods, these pale white men were coming with some kind of thing i had never before seen. i ran until i came to a clearing. i had urgent thoughts of telling my people somehow. but i was a distraction. going in the other direction of my village, but there was a way to rout back to it if i lost them. i knew these woods. but when i hit that clearing i was shot. and i fell, and they came around me talking. as i died.

i was a little boy, very sickly. with a twin. i dies around the age of 3.

i was a young girl (17?), torn between two men who boh wanted me to choose them or they would fight to the death. they lay there waiting. i had until morning to make my decision. we were all asleep... middle of the night i got up and walked to the mirror. i smashed it, things turned slow as i took a long sharp shard and stabbed myself.

and there are more that arent clear enough yet... but i only fell a strong connection with the first. im 15, and am completely serious.

Hi Starlina, and welcome to the Past Life Forum.

What you wrote is very interesting and full of detail. You are very fortunate to have remembered so much.

I don't wish to pry, but there are some questions I have that would be of great interest:

Would either of your parents remember when you were a toddler, if you spoke of any possible past life memories? This would have specific significance, and would pertain to our primary interest of children's past life memories. We've found that such information can lead to verifiable facts that you could not have known as a very young child, which could only be attributed to past lives. Understandably, most parents either forget, or shrug these incidences off as being merely the product of imagination. However, if they allow for the existence of reincarnation, you may be able to sit down with them, and may get them to remember some things which can be most telling.

We tend to believe wholeheartedly, that everyone has been reincarnated, but the memories tend to fade after the age of 5. However, there are cases like yours, where your memories remain at the surface.

Speaking only on my own behalf, I would caution you to be very careful and objective, lest some inaccurate information finds its way into your consciousness. Such a thing could limit other memories that you haven't yet discovered, and it wouldn't be unusual to go off in the wrong direction.

Let me also suggest that you read everything you can lay your hands on about reincarnation. This Forum is a perfect beginning, and you can find the best information by navigating to the "Forum Jump" menu underneath these posts. Then, select "BOOKS And LINKS About Reincarnation". You would also gain very useful insight by reading Carol Bowman's two books, "Children's Past Lives", and "Return From Heaven", which you can find in the same section.

I would like to hear more from you. May I ask a favor? Please make the words a smaller font, in black? That would make your posts so much easier to read. Please post whenever you wish to ask any questions, and we'll do our best to give you a thoughtful answer wherever we can.

thanks!

nightrain1, when i was a child i was always telling my parents storys... i had a very "vivid imagination" or so they called it. i would sit in my room and play games, and make up stories. i was very mature though for my age, and would often lecture the boys in preschool about how you should treat a lady. and they should be chivolrus! *(my spelling is terrable) i found myself at ease talking to strangers... my paretns thought i should become an author. when i moved from florida(where i was before) i made friends-and would incude them in my plots. ....mum says past lives are stuff of tv shows. dad somewhat believes me, but i cant tell him everything... i dont really think either would be too happy....i mean what could i say? *sighs* sorry about the font!

Hi Starlenia,

I'm glad you replied to my long-winded dissertation, and I'm thrilled that your parents know of your "stories". I would dare to say that it may be crucial to somehow convince both of them about the serious nature of reincarnation. That's why I recommended that you read everything you can about the subject. Doing so will help enable you to recommend good, credible information to them. I know how I would go about it, but I can't recommend that you do the same; because everything about your life and your family is different than mine, or anyone else's. Knowing of, and believing in the afterlife is the very basis of religion throughout the world. And, I dare say that there is far more validation and proof of it, than there is in the Bible, Torah, Qu'ran or any other scriptures. However, if you don't need validation of the afterlife, then you don't really need to convince your parents, or anyone else for that matter. Just read! And when you're done, read some more! All the best material can be found here through this Forum, so jump in and share whenever you need to.

why would it be crutial???? oh! and you said before: "Speaking only on my own behalf, I would caution you to be very careful and objective, lest some inaccurate information finds its way into your consciousness. Such a thing could limit other memories that you haven't yet discovered, and it wouldn't be unusual to go off in the wrong direction." may i ask what exactally do you mean by that?

Hi Starlenia!

Not everyone needs validation of an afterlife. But, if you do; then, it becomes very important to convince your parents that reincarnation is serious; and whatever they know could be just the validation you are looking for. Again, as I said before, I'm speaking on my own behalf.

Years ago, when my parents were still on this plain of existence, I didn't take the opportunity to ask them questions, because I assumed they would still be there, when I got back. But, they weren't. And the only opportunity I would have had to get to really know them was lost.

I was young, and time seemed to move much more slowly. So, I took them for granted. By the time I returned, everyone and everything was gone. So, cherish what you have now; and take every opportunity you can to be with them. Get to really know them. Buried deep within their minds are the memories you may have forgotten, the clues you may need for validation, and the deep love they have for you and possibly haven't expressed adequately.

That's why it's "crucial" for you to find out what they know, before it's too late. If these little bits of knowledge about yourself are important, then, it's important to convince them of your seriousness. Otherwise, you may loose opportunities, to fill in the blanks as they arise. As you go through the process of living this life, you will discover many gaps in your knowledge, that you may not have known existed.

When we fail to fill those gaps, our minds create "logical possibilities" which often take on the form of absolute truth later on. If one does somehow manage to discover what could have been real later on; then it may appear to conflict with the accepted but mistaken reality that has grown to become a part of one's history. And this, in turn, could lead to more inaccuracies.
