Question about technology

With technology going fast forward the way it is, I have been wondering about the following. Could there ever be a data base with people entering: when, where, names of city/towns and their names of past-life events. And others confirming their connection to that person mentioned, by entering their past-life connection?

Example (only)
When: 1800 to 1840’s
Where: Japan
City/Town: Tottori
My Name: Yokisha

Note:
I was little girl orphaned in a village near the Sea. From a small family and wondered the town aimlessly until I grew up and found a job as a servant for powerful people.
(P.S. this was all made up as it just came to me).

What would the ramification be? Is it possible? Would anyone want to make a connection?

I think we already see that in the way of genealogical databases online. Essentially they contain the same info.. names, families, cities, churches etc. You'd just need to know what to look for first.

Is that what you were talking about?

I think what you are talking about would be sort of an Ancestry.com but with past lives as the focus. That might be an interesting idea. Everyone depositing their input for circumstances and timeframe on the one hand and those with names and dates contributing on the other. I like the thought...I can see a whole litany of difficulties involved.

I meant that but in Past Life reference and not ancestory it self. Because from my understanding we do not always come back as a past relative but just a bystander from the past life. Or a new person to the canvas all together.

Just wondering usetawuz, could you name the biggest problem that you can think of?

Mine is that like unknown relatives, we might not want to connect with the past life person. :D

It would be an interesting project. I wonder if something like Facebook would have the ability to handle it? Could it deal with a searchable database? However, you'd have to have a way to make sure that somebody who doesn't want to be contacted by a potential PL associate is protected.

Big problem I see is that unscrupulous individuals (a polite way of saying internet scumbag pervs) could use such a database to lure victims into a meeting. One minute someone thinks they're about to meet a dear friend or relative from a past life, next minute that person is well on his way to his next life. I'd feel terrible if something I had set up with good intentions facilitated that sort of tragedy.

The technology is there, as has been pointed out with geneaology sites, but I'd be worried about the potential for serious abuse.

My initial thought was along the lines of the difficulties in cataloging the ten thousand people who were sure they are reincarnated from the 1,900 people that died on the Titanic, or the thousands who were Cleopatra, etc.

I might have misunderstood what you meant...if so I apologize.

Oh, yikes! I had forgotten about the obvious! Yeah, search on 'Marie Antoinette' and see how many hits you get!

All valid reasons. I agree with all the disaster that could happen and misleading people. But it is an idea. I think it would have to be monitored to closely and people meet only in a building office set up specifically just for such meeting.

To costly and would never happen.

Or you could post a HUGE disclaimer warning people not to ever agree to meet a stranger on the internet, and get graphic with the warnings about what could happen.

(It's my opinion that safety warnings are too gentle when it comes to life and death situations (at least here in the US). We have a billboard here warning about how drunk driving and "buzzed" driving can have the same effect. It shows a guy, obviously messed up and in a neck brace with the phrase "drunk driving" underneath it. Next to it is the same picture with "buzzed driving" underneath to show that being drunk and just being a little drunk is pretty much the same. I suggested to the company that they should change the image, since the guy is still alive to think about his decision and maybe even joke about what an idiot he was later. I suggested they should show a coffin or a grave. I even suggested that they show one headstone saying "drunk driving" and the other saying "buzzed driving". I was told that such imagery might frighten people. Um... isn't that the point?)

I also believe it should have a coffin or gravestone. This do not scare the people, is a lot of the problem in America. My mom and dad taught us tough love before there was even a word for it. "Get pregnant, your on your own" - "go to jail, your on you own" - "teacher/principle calls because of you" oh *&%$. You better start praying before you get home. But now it is all about not scaring the kids. BUT they can watch and play these hard core game and listen to the songs that leave nothing to the imagination, no problem.

We are 11 kids, grew up very poor. But we are all working now and supporting ourselves and our families and non of us went to jail.

SORRY for getting off topic here.

I think it's an interesting idea and maybe it wouldn't be that hard to make. However, every entry will have to be approved by moderators to prevent having more than a 1000 Romanovs, or just people being silly claiming to be the reincarnation of He-man or something. The He-man ones will be easy to dismiss, but what criteria should be used to select the other ones? 4 people claiming to be Anastasia, which one sounds "more true"? How about people who doesn't say that they were famous but they are claiming a life in the future? or parallel lives? If everyone is accepted then the site won't be "believable and trustworthy" past life relatives or historians won't help the members. If not everyone is accepted, then the selection criteria will have to be carefully designed.

I think one way, is to hypnotize everyone. And do it more than once to make sure all memories are consistent. But this could be pretty expensive. And every thing would have to be approved by the panel of moderators. Like you mentioned "the selection criteria will have to be carefully designed". And every body go through some kind of screening. It would be awesome. But a lot could go wrong also. And before the moderators gave each of us any information about the other person involved, it would have to be really thought out. And let the people involved live with the knowledge for a while (1-2 yrs) to get more info and see if they really want to pursue this person. One could have bad vibes and not want this person around etc.
