Problem with Child's past memories

A colleague's six-year-old son has been experiencing flash-back memories since the age of three. He has a constant companion, called Dudley, who is not an invisible friend type - in fact the child is afraid of him. On a recent visit to Warwick Castle, in England, he became hysterical, because he could see the killing and bloodshed within and without the castle buildings. More recently his mother (who incidentally is an experienced trauma nurse) took him to an outdoor funfair. When she took him by the "bouncy-castle" he again became hysterical. She is exteremly worried about him, more so now because he is trying to suppress these images, but with little success and with the added stress such actions bring.
Has anyone any suggestions, of how she can help him - along the lines of Regression Therapy. The family lives in the South Wales region of Britain, near Cardiff.

HOWARD;

Did you try checking the rest of this site for the list of therapists in your area?
From personal experience I can tell you that you are working with a fi;nite time span if the child is already trying to suppress. He needs help while he can still be convinced of the problem. Left til he suppresses the memories, he will simply deny there is a problem. In the meantime let him know that this stuff is old and he is just remembering things that happened long ago, and tell him you folks are working on finding someone who will help more.

Shay,
Where do we find this list. For a number of reasons, especially this one. I'd be interested to know. I have some experience with hypnotherapy and hypnotherapists and know that good ones are hard to find.
Are you saying there is a published list available which will cover this area (In UK)

Shay,

Another question. We have worked very recently with a Shamanic Regressionist. Do you have any knowledge on this form of 'regression management'? Both my wife and myself underwent a regression, with differning results and I am wondering if she could help this little boy or is it better to stick with mainstream regressionists?

HOWARDH:

To save you the time, I went to the location on this site which gives the link you need, it canbe found by going to the site map and looking under "how to find a past-life regressionist
www.empirenet.com/~pastlife/

Hope I got that right.
My problem was not with past life problems for my son, although he had those as an infant, I believe. His problem was with abuse in schools, and it took me 3 years and help form many good people on this site and elsewhere to finally find the information I needed to prove and understand what was happenning to him, ie, he was suffering from Educator Induced Post-traumatic stress Syndrome, and by the time we found out this he was luckily by my struggling along and supporting him, beginning to be cured. However the psychologist who studied and proved this problem told me that he should have therapy to get him through this and the boy will not admit he has a problem. His is old enough now that we need his permission to get him help and he won't do it.
That's why I said that there is a finite time span involved after which the problem/damage is very hard to address.

That site is supposed to be the worldwide centre for the listings of regressionists, and it says that there are more of them in Europe than in the States, so you may be in luck.
As to whether they are competent or well meaning, try to speak to some other people who have contacted them, and get a flavour of whether they are good.
I saw that there is a Paranormal section of one of the universities in the UK, I found it under Celtic in the search engines when I was looking for info for a project my son was doing, may be there is someone there who can pass you along to a good regressionist. I believe it was at the University of Glasgow,if my memory serves me, but it was last year and I switched to a new hard drive and preserved only the immediately useful sites, so my link to it is gone, but a search of the faculties of the diferent Universities should bring it to light.

Good luck and my love to the child and parents, having a traumatized child is agonizing.

Shay,

Many thanks for your help and thoughfulness. I will be seeing Tracey (the child's mother) next week and hopefully by that time will have more information for her.

I visited the site you forwarded and am incontact to find British sources and centres.

Again my gratitude

Howard

I also had great problems with my youngest daughter who had past life memories . We went through tremendous traumas and upsets with her for several years. The only thing which made a real and significant difference was when I took Carol Bowmans advice from her book Childrens Past LIves and I actually told my daughter that the memories she was having and the emotions she was experiencing actually belonged to another life and to another lifetime. The change in her behaviour was amazing and has been sustained for several months now. It is like having a new daughter!!
Have you read her book? I would definitely recommend it.

Yes we have read the book. It was this that started me off again, after a few years lapse. Your advice is gratefully received and I'll pass this on to Tracey as quickly as possible.Any results I'll let you know.
At the moment I'm searching for a relatively local therapist. I've worked with Joe Keaton and had brief training with him also and became aware how powerful a medical tool hypnotherapy is, and not to be used without a lot more training. So its to the experts I'm looking.
Again thanks for taking the time and for the advice.

howardh,
When I first read your post, I thought that the boy was remembering a past life in Tudor England. (I had a past life in that time, though no firm memories just impressions.) I did some checking for you, and according to Emma Lay, of the marketing dept in Warwick Castle the Dudleys were the owners, residents of the Castle from 1547 to 1590. During that time period, there were any number of incidents that could account for blood and killings, but one of the main ones was the suppression of the Catholic church in England, in favour of the new Curch of England. I don't know if this helps any, but should at least give a starting point for more research.

Galadriel,
This is very intriguing. Tracey had made no connection between the Warwick incident and the unwanted 'friend' Dudley. You may have given us that connection? I'll try to reach her tomorrow (Thursday) and report back.

Many thanks

Howard

Howard,
My son, who is now 6, started having past life memories at age 3. He remembered his "old mean mom" abusing him and burning him with a "smoker" and eventually setting him on fire at age 5 by wrapping him in the top sheet of her bed and setting it on fire and then walking out of the room. He burned to death. He has described the burning feeling on his back and remembers the peace he felt when he finally died. He said no one came to help him. My son hates fire and was always dressed as a fireman to protect himself. He also would never, and still won't sleep with a top sheet. He also has a lot of little white spots on his back that he was born with and he said that is where is old bad mom burned him with the smoker. Norman Inge from carol's book came to my house to work with him. My son is doing much better, but still won't use a top sheet and still is afraid of fire, he blows out out all candles. He knows it is a past life and often tells me he chose me because he knew I was nice. Montel Williams actually called me to have my son on his show, but I refused because I dont' want to exploit him. Good Luck to your friend and feel free to email me.
