I know we frequently talk about soul type and other things relating to our "place" in the grand scheme of things.

The above is a free link to a scarily accurate personality analysis. Its only 3-4 questions, which makes it even more scary! But it gives you a detailed report that can perhaps provide some more insight into your soul type while also possibly helping you to weave a thread through your past lives.

I got the "Harmony Seeking Idealist." It is a very good test, Totoro - simple, but quite accurate.

I'm a Good Natured Realist, and this comfirms the Type 6 wing 7 personality. I find this quite interesting. Thank you for posting this :)

I got the good natured realist.

I really enjoyed taking the quiz and I'm glad you guys did too :D

Hit a problem on #1. Neither one of those groups of statements applies to me even to a point where I could say "Well, it mostly applies to me." I'm going back to try something, though.

Aha, I thought so. I've seen this type of thing before. Unfortunately, even looking at all the results a person could get, in order to get the type that fits me (or how I see myself, at least), I would have had to have selected false statements.

Good discussion starter, however, and can get a person thinking.

Shiftkitty: yes I was a little similar some statements in both applied. I chose the one that was most similar.

Maybe we are just diverse personalities?LOL

Briar, Lynette & Aelf, we are the same.

I have to admit to not minding an argument every now and again. Never a bad one though & not frequently.

This is an MBTI Test, but simplified. ENFP = Spontaneous Idealist. I wouldn't say it's entirely wrong, but you can't sum up a person by the typical characteristics of their type!

Well, I have definitely changed as a person - or maybe I've just 'upgraded' in some way. Not saying any one type is in any way better than another, I just mean as an individual I have upgraded in my own individual way (i.e. I have grown). Not only am I no longer an 8, (now a 4) but when I take the Myers Briggs test, I'm an INFP, not an INFJ. And the dreamy idealist is linked to the INFP.

Whatever it all means, it's still fascinating stuff!

Skye, do agree with you. We are all individuals and just our own selves. In some ways I do not like these many tests as it places people in these few and various catagories when we are all separate and individual people with many special gifts and talents.

As for myself in that other test I was also a INFP and on this like you a 'Dreamy Idealist'. Now I had not made that connection but thanks for bringing this up.

Wishing Everyone the Best!

Very true, Kmat - :D These personality things don't define who were are - though they're very interesting to delve into.

Now the issue I have, mainly due to burning curiosity, is why i made this obvious dramatic shift. I know I had to build a sort of armour in order to survive, but I still essentially felt I've always been 'myself' and never faked anything. I have also discovered that it's a LOT easier being an 8 in public than a 4.

Scarily, I also feel like I'm turning into my ex-boyfriend. The one I believed was my 'soulmate'. Considering that he got the same answers that I am getting now. Not just that though, but other things about me are now reminding me of him.

And I wouldn't say I'm a person who's easily influenced by another person, especially not him, and not someone who takes on the personality traits of other people as I've always been comfortable with my own identity. Now what is all THAT about?

As a 4/dreamy idealist/INFP, despite the drawbacks I feel it holds for me compared to being an 8/INFJ etc (as an 8, I commanded respect everywhere I went and this fed a part of me that I felt was very important!) I feel that I'm closer to my 'ultimate goal' the reason I'm here on this planet. It's a feeling I can't shake.

I know I shouldn't spend too much time speculating though - I still consider myself a doer more than a thinker. I'm sure it'll all be revealed to me at the end! :D

Laid-back Doer.

This test seemed different than some of the others around here (MBTI, etc.) in a way that was somehow not as helpful. I mean, you click the boxes with sentences you identify with and then at the end it just tells you exactly what you picked with some sentence structure changes and a title. Of course it goes along with my MBTI result, I havent changed personality in that time. I don't, I dont feel like I gained any knowledge with this one.

It really is just a re-confirmation of what I already know.

Dreamy Idealist / INFP ... yup

What is more interesting is tracking how I answer questions differently now than I used to. There's a growing confidence aspect that used to be completely foreign to me. I wonder if I'll change enough to achieve an alternate result one day?

I found these personality-type overlays very useful/insightful when I was trying to understand that it is okay to be different than others, and how their differences are beneficial to them. It was part of the process of accepting who I am and who others are.

Now these tests seem less vital, though they could function as an indicator for clearer communication. Not as though I bother to change my approach ... oh, well.

A would be interesting to test on one of these, but how?

That test is so flawed .

You can't answer one question?

It might as well say I am Batman.

Or witch with a chip on her shoulder.

Dreamy idealist sound like more Peter Pan

good grief. I can't fly.

I got Analytical Thinker: "Analytical Thinkers are reserved, quiet persons. They like to get to the bottom of things - curiosity is one of their strongest motives. They want to know what holds the world together deep down inside. They do not really need much more to be happy because they are modest persons. Many mathematicians, philosophers and scientists belong to this type. Analytical Thinkers therefore often give others the impression that they are arrogant or snobby - especially because they do not hesitate to speak their mind with their often harsh (even if justified) criticism and their imperturbable self-confidence. Incompetent contemporaries do not have it easy with them. But whoever succeeds in winning their respect and interest has a witty and very intelligent person to talk to. A partner who amazes one with his excellent powers of observation and his very dry humor."

Sounds about right, especially the part about people thinking I'm snobby. I've run into that many times in my life. It makes me sad because I'm not a jerk, but I'm so reserved that people mistake it for being snobby at times. I have taken a few of these tests. My MBTI was INFP when I was a teenager, but I took it again a year ago and got INTP.

I've been through that myself. Shy kids are mislabeled as "stuck-up".

I got 'engaged idealist'. Some of it rings, true, but not perfectly.

Engaged Idealists are reliable, well organized and love structuring complicated situations. They have difficulty accepting criticism; they quickly feel hurt and misunderstood. Their perfectionism also influences their love life - they look for the perfect relationship for life. Once they have made their decision, they are faithful, well-balanced and loving partners. However, should they get involved with the wrong person, it can happen that they allow themselves to be exploited for a long time before they end the relationship.
Adjectives that describe your type: extroverted, theoretical, emotional, planning, idealistic, committed, likable, enthusiastic, responsible, helpful, loyal, diplomatic, friendly, inspiring, caring, solicitous, optimistic, effusive, adaptable, communicative, articulate, convincing, energetic, optimistic, open, vulnerable

Lots of idealists on here then. :D

I'm down as Dynamic Thinker. Hmmm...don't think of myself as a "leader" personally...

Yep...I think alright. Yep...I'm definitely frank alright and I don't believe in being underhand or anything. What you see is pretty much what you get LOL. No-one in their right mind would describe me as "diplomatic" LOL...I admit I don't know the meaning of the concept....

I'd like to think I'm intelligent, etc - well an "official" IQ test I did way back when said I am:D - which was news to me, as I hadn't thought of myself that way...

Logical - tick. Determined - tick OH YES. Sharp eye for errors and expect a great deal of myself and others - tick. Independent - tick OH YES. Responsible - I'd like to think so. Aggressive - errrm...well...I hope not....

I am a very good friend - if you can handle the fact "diplomats aren't me" and I have noticed that if a good friend is a bit worried as to whether something is "quite right" (eg in one instance an old persons carehome someone they know WAS in) then I'm your woman/take me in and I will notice whats wrong and say so....and then be supportive about getting things sorted out..

Too much thinking. In each choice about half the statements applied to me, half did not. Taking a wild stab at it I got Good-Natured Realist. Ha. I'm not good-natured.

I ended up with Analytical Thinker. Makes sense for an INTJ.

Also: unpunctual? I have never heard this word in my life. However; it does seem to be a word listed in both British and American English Dictionaries. Ah. I would have though 'im-' would have been used over 'un-'. We don't say unpractical or unperfect (at least not in the States). So why un-punctual instead of 'impuncual'. Maybe I need to look at the prefix a bit closer.

// took a closer look. The root for 'punctual' is Latin based, so is the prefix 'im-' which denotes what follows is 'without' or 'lacking'. The prefix 'un-' on the other hand denotes a removing or revoking of something. (e.g. unmask) and is of Germanic origin...so it should by all rights be impunctual or 'without punctuality' instead of a Germanic-Latin hybrid of 'removing punctuality' or 'unpunctual'.//

I feel better with that out of my system. On topic again, if this test is a simplified version of the MBTI then why are INTJ's and INTP's ending up with the same answer? There are two sets of questions in each of the four groupings, that should be enough to replicate the 16 possible outcomes, so did they shortcut and only make 8 possible answers? That might explain why some people are getting an ill fit with their answers.
