Past-life "pictures"

I've believed in reincarnation since my teens, and have read occasionally on the subject since then. However, since the death of my daughter last year my interest in the subject has escalated, and I've been reading a great deal.

In this past year I've experienced something unusual: When I close my eyes to go to sleep, or sometimes when I put myself in a relaxed state during the day, I often see what I can only describe as pictures of people. I never recognize them, and they never repeat. Many are dressed in clothing from the WWII-era or earlier. I've concluded that they must be images from my past lives.

Has anyone heard of this phenomenon? Thanks!

I had something similar when I was pregnant the first two times. I always called them the kid's home movies. With the first it was always the same scene over and over, an older man and a boy about 10 years old, fishing on a lake somewhere. With my son, it was differing scenes of a native american life.
 
I have experienced exactly the same: images which never repeat, and come in between wake and sleeping state of awareness.

I believe that those images come when one uses so called 3rd Eye, which is supposed to be located in between eyes or a little higher. My 1st past memory included energy coming toward heart (Heart chakra), and that energy went toward my head in 90 degrees angle, and eventually that energy changed to a "knowing" about a thing in past. I guess that opening situation opened my 3rd Eye too. I was 19 years old then. For some years I saw those pictures, and slowly they vaned away as my recent life got quite annoying. But I've had some rear glimpses still now and then. Not so much about my past lives, though, I think.
 
Interesting experiences, both of you. About the Third Eye connection.....I'd always heard of the chakras, but never paid them much attention. Then recently I began seeing deep violet shapes during meditation and hypnosis, which I'm told is the Third Eye opening up. I had a sensation of something opening, too.

So much to think about...

I've seen violet (purple) splashes about for a year now, I think. It's odd they came after all these years, if they're supposed to be a sign of 3rd Eye opening. On the other hand it's possible that there's a difference between having spontanous visions and having meditated ones. All my visions years ago were spontanous. And I've been meditating for almost a year. (Before I didn't because it seemed so difficult to me.)

I think it's great to know that other people have same kind of experiences, it gives an opportunity to feel that one's on the right track, and those things are REAL - they aren't just something I have fantacized.

The frustrating part is not 'recognizing' these people or images, and it doesn't necessarily have to be from the past. Alot of times, I'll see faces only to have them pop-up anywhere between 2 to 10 years in the future. There are still alot of scenes/people that haven't even occurred yet. Through mental images, being able to 'go back and forth' like this through time is just further proof that time isn't linear. Everything that can possibly happen and will happen...has already occured.
 
Hi I know exsactly what you mean that happens to me alot when I am in that relaxed state between wake and sleep especially when dozing during the day not sure but think thats the state they refer to as alfa and they say that what comes to you in that state is alway the truth, but it is usually jumbled two particular occurances that stand out to me when in that state was one a song came on the radio I wasn't even really aware of the radio till the song came on and out of no where a very strong quick flash vision of the person I mentioned in my first post here came to me really strong that I was so startled it jolted competely awake and the 2nd i was just standing in an empty room looking at a door and out of nowhere thought I ve seen a room like that in this life as well, again as soon as my consious mind stoped to make sense of it all I lost it.
 
Yes I have had similar things many as a child/teenager when closing my eyes but whilst still awake would see images some of a market place type scene but mainly of a stone lion monument so idea why and can only assume its a past life image

I get similar images sometimes, but they occasionally repeat. That or I just re-remember them. ;P

Alisande...after your daughter died, have you heard or felt, or in anyway sensed that your daughter was around you?

Oh I do have a website that describes how to raise energy to leave your body, including descriptions of chakra's...also know of this free software where people on it do readings when spirit leads, maybe be a way to hear from your daughter....

If you can follow what to do on this website, to raise energy and leave your body, then maybe you yourself can see your daughter again.

This man Robert Bruce talked in a article about leaving his body and seeing his son again for the first time.

Though I don't agree with him, he says there is evil out there, I think it's just his fears and issues he needs to work on. So don't let that scare you. He also talks about protection, where as I don't feel u need it. But you make up your own mind.

My Mom sees faces when she's relaxed and it really freaks her out. She usually ends up meeting these people some time in the future. I can't wait to tell her that it happens to other people, too. Maybe it will make her feel better.
 
I have seen several past life "scenes" while in that relaxed state, not quite asleep and certainly not awake.

I also have had one past life fragment come to me during sleep/dreaming ~ I woke up, wrote it down and went back to sleep. In the morning I remembered maybe 10% of what I'd written, but that 10% made sense.

But usually, I have recall during that half-awake/half-asleep quiet state.

Can I say also that I think extreme trauma can "open" the links between this world & the next?

I lost my daughter immediately following her birth ~ her mother, my partner, separated from me and I've never been a part of her life. I dropped deep into post partum depression, though I was never pregnant! After two grief filled weeks, I began dreaming of her vividly - of her visiting me during sleep. The dreams continued for 2 years, less & less frequently, as I think she settled into her life and was awake more. Now I seldom dream of her visiting me, or of myself visiting her. Her birth, so powerful, and her loss, just as powerful, opened a door in my mind to the other side. It has been an interresting journey, though not one I'd care to repeat!

In fact, her birth & loss started my whole journey into believing in reincarnation. After my GF and I separated, I began having the most intense flashbacks of losing her during birth in a past life. Eventually, I recalled through guided meditation that she had been my wife and had died in childbirth in our most recent past life, in Russia around the turn of the century. During THIS life, we pretty much played out the same roles - I lost her at childbirth again, though this time she left instead of dying.

While it was horrible to go through, it has really opened my mind to spiritual life. May blessings come to you , also, during this difficult time!
 
I forgot to mention that when I close my eyes, someone who I always see lookin at me, blinking on his own, is another copy of myself.

I didn't know why I saw a man's face looking at me, blinking on his own when I closed my eyes, until it was cleared up in a out of body experience, where I saw this man's face and went through it and out came a double of my body.

I see various people at times or places when I close my eyes, sometimes I don't have to close my eyes, never know who they are. I figure their connected to me, cause I did see this one person, who happen to be a person online I spoke too.

This is just all part of psychic ability. You relax and then see things...

That is so true! I watched my loved one burning on stake centuries ago, and never really forgot it. The mental torture was so overhelming. But in a way it made me a bit conscious over death and rebirth.

Things happen, most terrible ones too, and people still don't remember - or they have just phobias without any reason. I guess it must be a soul plan that somebody chooses to experience pain and hurt particularly to remember.
 
I seem to have found an answer to a question that has had me puzzled for a while. I have been reading many books CWG, Angel Inspirations, Power of Now. and as advised in AI i asked for may guardian angels name, got the name Kim. The next morning during that awakening/sleeping period (dawn) I 'saw' in the area of my third eye a oriental gentleman which then morphed into a really beautiful woman (I should be so lucky) a few mornings later,the same thing happend again.This time there where many starting with an Ameican Indian, and morphing into others, including an African gentleman, including a man who had a face disfigurement and many others There were also two 'aliens' both appeared in the same 'picture' one to the right but lower than the main one, the main one having a star with a inner circle of red and another inner one of yellow - this being where 'our third eye is. Any suggestions? The latest where two young girls, one seemed to be speaking, but unable to make out what she was saying (she was the last of the two, between them was a guy who looked very weather worn. This only happens to be when I am awakening at dawn ,if I sleep late it doesn't and it doesn't happend late at night, and I can't make it happen. Also they don;t hang around for me to really make them all out. But it is good to read that i am not alone, I was wondering who these folks were, but I I think I no have an answer. For those who wonder how so many people claim to be the same famour person CWG Book 2 two may have the answer for you - we are all smaller parts of One very large part???
 
Everyone has hit the nail on the head.And it is relieving to know that Im not the only one who has gone through this.Its been happening to me recently.It does seem to come at those meditative like states between being awake and asleep.It appears like a home video, you know like the ones that were played during the 50s.I had a "picture" with a small boy , with brown hair, playing around in the grass.I feel like he was either my son or my brother in a past life.We were definitely related.It appeared that maybe this was during the 70s.There's a second one I had with a young girl, possibly in her 20s standing in a field near a farm or something.During the 60s.She was dressed in 60's / hippie clothing. These experiences are amazing , really.
 
Has anyone ever heard a voice or a sentence come out of nowhere with these pictures.

Last night I was seeing these pictures the 1st ones were what I beleive could have been of my most recent life I have had many of the era and I am quite comfortable with them

Then as some times before I will have a really awlful face definley not of this world appear and will scare me out of it

I closed my eyes again and more images came to me of walking in a busy place the people and surroundings were black/white grey apart from this one person in an orangey peach coloured dress possibly 13 to 15th century era by the feeling ,never had this one before

That vanished then I heard like what sounded like a high pitched angry womans voice yell at me to shut the door it really scared me as I didn't hear it with my ears but I heard it loud and clearly

The only other times I have heard this sort of loud clear voices in that state ,was about a year ago ,I was between wake and sleep and the image was I was standing in a room looking at a door and said to myself I've seen a door like that in this life as well, this startled me and I snapped out of the state

And a few months back I heard someone let out a loud scream

Its really hard to describe them as I am not hearing them with my phycical ears they almost seem like I am hearing them with my third eye and they are comming from another dimension if thats possible

Like to hear from others that have heard these similar sort voices while seeing images in that state.

I've read all your responses with interest. It's good to hear that others have had similar experiences. It may be quite a common phenomenon, but one that most people are uncomfortable admitting to.

Yes, since my daughter died I've felt her presence *many* times, in many ways.

And Brooke, yes, I've heard voices in the state before sleep. In fact, some years ago I would deliberately put myself in a receptive state and listen for voices. I heard a steady stream of them, mostly snatches of unfamiliar conversations, but sometimes an unsettling shout. At the time, I didn't see any visuals.

Hi Alisande Thanks I'm glad there is someone else who hears voices when in that state as well as I find it quite alarming at times usually jolts me back to my conscious mind completely.

i know i'm late in responding to this thread, but i'm new and well- eager to respond! i see pictures in my head at night as well.. right before i'm falling asleep, it's like a jumble of MANY people.. it's fast, and almost like headshots (from the neck up).. i don't recognize the people, as i don't get to focus on them for any length of time.
i also will hear voices, or someone singing- and the moment i try to focus on it, it goes away.
 
it's never too late.

You know, once I got a migraine attack (a particularly strong one) at school when I was 12 years old (7th grade). At the nurse's office, I was laying down on the table and in the quietness, I heard my name shouted. There was nobody around, but I heard my name shouted. It happened again! I thought it was due to something with the migraine, but that shouting was something that stayed with me until I was about 17 or so. Now, at 34, I will lay in bed at night falling asleep and will see flashes of people's faces, kinda like a photograph, just for a split second per person. Sometimes I see lots, sometimes one or two. And lately, that yelling has returned. I never gave much thought to that yelling (except that I thought it was insane of me to hear something that wasn't there) until I read this thread.
 
One more thing - reading over all of this gives me the chills because I never really believed in this "new age" stuff, but on a whim I went to auracolors.com and learned there (on the test) that my predominant color is _indigo_. With environmental tan and yellow and green as runner-ups.

I've read of 'indigo children' but I am about 16 years removed from childhood...
 
I also see faces when I have my eyes shut, and in a relaxed state, but just thought that they were people I had seen during my life briefly, but didn't really know...but the faces I see kind of morph if I concentrate on them into different people..it is very interesting to watch.
 
I am a brand-spanking new member and I am so glad I found this board. I have needed people to talk with so badly!

I have really been trying to go into that half-awake/half-asleep state so I can meditate and be closer with "the other side"... anyway, last night I was doing very well (most other times that I've tried to achieve that special state I've ended up falling asleep!) and I was very relaxed --- then all of a sudden I heard someone shout "JEN!" (my name) but it was in like a whisper-shout. SCARED THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME.... let's just say I wasn't exactly relaxed after that.

But then right away I heard a voice in my head that said, "Hey hey hey... it's ok. Just calm down. I didn't realize you weren't ready for that." But the voice in my head sounded like my thinking voice... like me. Even though I don't think it was? It was totally weird. Any thoughts?
 
Glad to hear so many of you have had similar experiences. To Noah's Mom, and anyone else who wants to get into that hypnogogic state, try lying in the dark and listening as hard as you can. Some meditation experts recommend focusing on listening to your breathing, but I do best listening intently to the silence around me.

I've heard my name shouted as well. In fact, for years I saw nothing but heard all manner of things. Now my experiences are mostly visual. Based on the look of the people in my "snapshots," I've pretty much decided I must have been a Jew during the Holocaust. Now if I could just come up with my name....;-)

When I was very young at around 6 or 7, I had a dream/vision of sleeping in a bed with a woman, but the strange thing is that I felt that (a) I was leaping many years into the future during my own lifetime, and (b) that it wasn't a dream, but rather a real event. I remember vivid and *exact* details, the position I was lying, how I was facing her...but the bizarre thing was that although it was in the dark (well, when we sleep with our partners, it's usually in the shadows of night/dark anyways) the one thing I remember was her *voice*. Now that I am way into my adult years, the one thing that has stuck with me was that voice. When we are 6 or 7 years old, we all experience unusual dreams that are forgettable, but this image of the woman, voice, and body position has been etched in my memory. I also felt some emotional connection to this person, a warmth, and comfort in her voice/presence. Something tells me that by progressing several decades into the future at a young age, I probably caught a glimpse of my future wife
