Past life memories

Hi there, I’m new to this forum, but curious to know whether there are many adults here who have posted about their past life memories. I’m 51 years old (female) and I live in Australia. I started having recurring dreams of a woman in my late 20’s, early 30’s. There were four distinct scenes in which I had visions of her, places she’d take me to see. Naturally, I couldn’t get this woman off my mind because the dreams of her were becoming more and more vivid and intense as time went by. It wasn’t until I was in my late 30’s after a trip to NYC and a series of events that I finally discovered who this woman was. When I first saw a picture of her, I was shocked beyond belief, but it was definitely her and her eyes said it all. It was like she was looking into my soul and I was looking into hers. A deeply profound experience for twenty odd years now. It’s only because I’m getting older that I’m more comfortable talking about it and interested in hearing about other people’s experiences with this kind of phenomena. No longer afraid of being ridiculed or made fun of for sharing my story. There will always be people who don’t believe you’re telling the truth or think you’re crazy. That doesn’t bother me anymore. I know my truth. The unconscious mind is a different reality from our conscious reality, but a reality nonetheless. And the connections between us after reading about her life story are remarkable. Is this a case of reincarnation? Is it mathematically possible that I was this woman in my past life? Perhaps reincarnation is a process or opportunity to be a better you, learn from past mistakes and make improvements to the life we are living now. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York in the early 1900’s. And not that it matters, but she was quite a famous actress in Hollywood back in her day.

Hi and welcome! A lot of people have posted past life memories. Some are in the archive folder, should you be interested in reading any. Was this past life of yours a silent film actress?

Hi Tanoochi,
Experiencing vivid dreams is very intense. They become a part of your reality, and I totally understand that you don't care about what others think of your hypothesis. I wish I had past-life dreams, but that never happened. I have experienced flashes and scenes in a waking state (well, in an altered state by self-hypnosis or spontaneously without warning).

I am interested to know what you plan to do now. Are you collecting as much information as possible about this person? Or are you trying to dive into your soul to find traces of this former existence? Or do you follow a more holistic approach? Or do you just sit down, still in awe about your realisation? It's all valid, of course.

From my own experience. I've found out multiple former lives, and every time I learned about one, I needed a very long time (years) to let it all sink in. I even found themes that connected those lives. I was never able to verify any of my findings (no famous or identifiable former lives), but somehow they all still live inside me now. Quiet, interconnected, and softly radiating their influence.

Do you also find traces of other former lives? Once you open the gates to forgotten memories, often more will follow by surprise.

Be careful what you wish for @fireflydancing :) I was dreaming of this woman for years before I knew who she was and what any of it meant. It also took many years for it to sink in. The plan was and still is to incorporate the dream into a novel or film. Trying to figure out the meaning of it all and where it might take you is the hardest part and difficult to write about because the inner exploration and understanding of myself continues. No! I don’t collect any information about her. I did buy a few different books written about her. That was immediately after discovering her identity. But I only ever read one book about her. I think one was enough for me. Occasionally, I’ll read a few things about her family life or look at images of her that I haven’t seen before and that’s due to connections or links that come up in my daily life, but I haven’t even watched one of her movies in its entirety. I’ve seen snippets of a few of her films here and there. I actually find it very difficult to watch her on screen. Her language, expressions. It’s all too much for the senses. And the last time I watched a snippet from one of her movies which was only a few months ago, it happened to be very similar to a scene I’d seen in a recurring dream so I stopped it in its tracks immediately. When I’m ready and if it’s needed, I might re-visit the scene. Until then, I can wait a while. :) The quiet, interconnected and softly radiating influence part is how I also like to live my life connected to this woman. I don’t seem to have traces to other former lives and I no longer dream about this woman from the past. She may have served her purpose. But I do have ongoing dreams at night that are very vivid and powerful. Prophetic dreams that explore the deeper levels of consciousness. Sometimes I wish I was an illustrator. Then I could draw the beautiful and eccentric images, striking gold patterns, designs and dream imagery that comes to my mind.
And ‘YES’ @fireflydancing, I’ll always be in awe of these extraordinary experiences and realisations. I believe they are gifts from God which have allowed me to live life profoundly and with great love. I’m ever so grateful and thankful to God for every day I get to wake up and experience the life I’m living now.
