Newbie with memories from my childhood

Hi all,
I am new and just wanted to introduce myself. I am 41 and have believed in reincarnation for a very long time. It's a shame that I didn't think to connect with other people until I found this website. What a great site!
I especially wish I had known about this site when my son was younger (he is 9 now) because it would have helped me tremendously. He was always talking about his past life.
I also remember having a memory from when I was younger and I'm not sure if it was PL related or not but it seems likely. When I was about 5yrs old, I was having nightmares and couldn't sleep so my Mom (who was divorced from my Dad) let me sleep with her. I remember lying there touching her face and sobbing. I told her that she wasn't my "real Mommy" and I wanted "my Mommy" back. This seemed to hurt her feelings so I never said it to her again but every night for about 3 weeks, I cried myself to sleep. I remember the feeling as if it were yesterday. I was sad and scared and knew that this person was not my Mother.
Of course, eventually, I got over it and now my Mother and I are best friends. She doesn't really remember that time except for the nightmares and me sleeping with her. I think I must have loved my PL Mother a lot and had a very hard time with the loss. Does this sound Plausible? Has this happened to other adults? I know that today more and more people are becoming aware of their children's memories but have any of you remembered something from your childhood?
Anyway, thanks again for this site. I can't wait to spend a few days going through all the posts!

Hi Meagan, welcome to the forum :)

It's quite common among children who remember their past lives, to remember other Mummy and Daddy's. There is one thread I found on this topic here: Children who remember other Mommy's and Daddy's, but there are other threads throughout the forum which I'm sure you will find while browsing.

I know that today more and more people are becoming aware of their children's memories but have any of you remembered something from your childhood?
I remember having nightmares at an early age of being someone else entirely, and I can also remember seeing my father in those dreams, but it was like his face was out of focus and I could never see him clearly until several years later.

Hope you find the discussions here interesting :)

Hi Meagan! And a warm welcome to the Forum. As Chris stated, the things you mentioned are really quite common, and I hope you enjoy following some of the old posts. You'll also find a great deal of fascinating information in Carol Bowman's two books, "Childrens Past Lives", and "Return From Heaven". After reading her books and many others on the subject, I've grown to suspect that many children probably feel disoriented, as if they are born into strange surroundings which don't seem to fit their previous memories.
