Hi, I'm Tracey. I know I have a long screen name so if you're looking for a way to abbreviate it, I also suggest LDH.

After having read the posting guidelines, I'm not really sure what I can say in my introductory post, let alone any other. So I'll say this, and hope I don't get censored too much.

I've been lurking for a few months off and on, and am finally ready to post. I'm almost as shy on the Internet as I am in real life.

The beliefs of my chosen religion allow for reincarnation, and it's a topic I'm interested in and comfortable with, although I do try to look for more mundane explanations before accepting any possibly supernatural explanation for things.

I am currently grieving for a recently deceased friend.

That's all I can think of. I hope I can post some more here.

Oh! Forgot to mention that I've worked with kids as a nanny and in a preschool setting, and Googling on funny things they say as little ones was what led me to this website. For example, one little girl would constantly talk to us about "when I was in high school" at naptime.

LDH, Welcome to the Forum.

I'm sorry about your grief over your friend, hopefully your memories of that person will be a comfort to you now and in the future.

I want to say that you're amongst like minded people who care in this Forum.

I'm sure others will come along to add their words of introduction.

I understand shyness, because as a child I was somewhat shy with new people (both Adult's and other children) until I got to know them better.

Also people forget (or don't won't to admit) that children are very often old souls in new bodies, and should be respected for their experience and wisdom.

It's good that you're able to nurture their young minds in this early growing process, if anything, just by listening to them and accepting them as individuals.

Again, LDH welcome to the Forum.

Hello LDHummingbird and welcome to the forum

I'm very sorry to hear of your friend.

As Hydrolad already said, you're among like-minded people here. This is a safe place to discuss reincarnation without getting mocked.

If you are unsure about whether your experiences are 'allowed' due to the posting guidelines, feel free to send me a PM with the main points and I can let you know. There are only few things that we don't accept and there are many borderline cases ;)

Hi Tracey, welcome to the forum :)

Just wanted to add to the other replies and offer my sympathy for the loss of your friend. I hope that by finding this forum, and reading through some of the members' experiences, you can take some comfort from the knowledge that it's not the end of the road for your friend, but just a break in his/her souls' journey.

Feel free to ask any questions, join in with the discussions, or start one of your own if you like. Hope you enjoy your time here.

Just wanted to mention, before I forget (in case you didn't know already) that pre (and post) nap time for the children is an excellent time to listen to their stories.

As they get ready to fall asleep, their brains shift to another pattern (similar to "Day" dreaming) and they seem to be more readily able to access Past Life (PL) memories, like the little girl you talked about that remembered High School.

You might be surprised at some of their PL memories as you listen further! :)

Hi Tracey! Welcome to the Forum!

You are very fortunate to be working with preschoolers, not only to be witness to their possible past life memories, but because that is a most precious period in their lives.

Please allow me to encourage you to take good advantage of your anonymity here by sharing whatever you wish. Don't be shy. Life is about taking chances and learning from our mistakes. If you say something too far outside the box, that's OK. There's no shame in having a post blocked now and then.

Tracey, Hi There and Welcome to the Forum! Please do not feel shy here for you are among like minded souls here. Am looking forward with what you have to share espicelly since you work around children.

Now you have my sympathies on the loss of your friend and may you receive the comfort that you need at this time. Wishing You the Best!

Hello

I'm retired, and a member of a large family that seems to have a number of reincarnated family members in it. I enjoyed Carol's book Return From Heaven and was curious to see if she has written anything new, so I looked her up. I am looking forward to reading what's available here. Thank you!

I look forward to seeing you around :)

Hi RemainingSpirit, welcome to the forum!

Glad you enjoyed Carol's book, did you find that you could relate any of it with your own family situation? We'd like to hear more about you if, or when you feel comfortable enough, it's a safe place to share, hope you enjoy the discussions.

Chris :)

Hi RemainingSpirit, and welcome to the Forum. If you would like to elaborate on your reincarnated family members, we would be most interested in reading about them. It would be fun to compare notes.

New Member Introductions - January 2011

Hello to everybody on this most interesting forum. :) I heard about your forum from someone who recently joined the 2012 forum. Basically, I am rather skeptical in nature but am open to any possibility. Having said that, I do rely on good evidence before accepting a concept into my worldview. It is my hope that I will learn a great deal about the subject of reincarnation in the coming months.

Hiya Chameleonic and welcome to the forum :)

I hope you will enjoy the forum and I'm happy you find it interesting :D I hope you will learn more here, however you probably won't find a lot of evidence, although we have a lot of testimonies that does give food for thought ;)

Hi Chameleonic, welcome to the forum!

I agree with Sunniva. Unfortunately, I think reincarnation is one of those things that will never be proven satisfactorily. Every question asked seems to raise ten more questions, but in my opinion, the most convincing evidence is in one's own experiences, which can be difficult trying to relay to others. Having said that, we can all remember our past lives if we can learn how to look beyond the forest and see the trees ;)

Primarily, reincarnation is a faith, and as long as we can debate with respect for each other's beliefs (or disbeliefs) then I think skepticism is a good thing, and welcome here.

Hope you enjoy your time here.

Chris :)

Remaining Spirit, Welcome to the Forum! Am looking forum to all that you have to share with us here. Wishing You the Best!

Chameleonic, Hi There and Welcome to the Forum! Now even though you might be a skeptic,

hope you enjoy yourself here. Wishing You the Best!

Hi Chameleonic:

Welcome to the Forum, and may you find the answers you are searching for.

And even though (as a Moderator) this is not my Section, I thought I would weigh in on this discussion as a regular poster.

Now I am somewhat sceptical of certain claims, just as the next person is, and I pretty much do loads of research to satisfy my hunger for the truth.

And I first came to the realization that Reincarnation and Past Lives (PL) might be real, when I started having dreams of places and situations of other places (and other "bodies") that were NOT of this current lifetime.

The two main dreams I remember having on a consistent basis, was of a WWII fighter pilot over the White Cliffs of Dover (hence my Avatar) and Wolf Attacks and Eats a Child (being me), which included a depiction of an "Out of Body" (OOBE) episode, and I was NOT taught beforehand of OOBE's and did not know what it meant until much later.

Christians for some reason, for the most part, don't seem to like OOBE's (or any other type of Parapsychology, for that matter). :)

Now this is where it gets difficult to find words to explain, as a child, (I and most children) had frequent nightmares, but these PL dreams were not nightmares, if anything, they were peaceful as the scenes unfolded.

And they had a "flavor" or feeling that was different from regular dreams, as they say, you had to have been there, to understand what I'm saying.

Coming from a strong Christian background, I saw no reason why Reincarnation or Past Lives could not co-exist with my Christian beliefs, in fact, the two fit so well it was rather like a hand in a glove. :)

So as an older teenager I finally (and fully) accepted Reincarnation (based partly on my dreams and mainly on faith).

When all is said and done, at the end of the day, in my opinion, faith was the only option left, at least to me.

My apologies for the long winded post.

Thank-you RemainingSpirit, ChrisR, kmatjhwy, and hydrolad for your greetings. :)

No problem. Thanks for taking the time to explain your personal story to me.

Hi Chameleonic, and welcome to the Forum!

I would always advise any skeptical person seeking good information about Reincarnation to read some of the books by Dr. Ian Stevenson, Dr. Jim Tucker, and especially, any one of Carol Bowman's two books, "Childrens Past Lives" and "Return from Heaven". Another very good book is "Soul Survivor" by Bruce and Andrea Leininger.

Anecdotal stories, by themselves, are not always very convincing, and there is not much science involved beyond methodical observation. Members here may only have their own faith that their patterns of behavior are real, plus their own conviction that they possess memories from long before their present life. So, convincing others may often be very difficult. But, they all come here with the hope of sharing in a safe environment.
