My Son's Name From A Past Life

Hello everyone, my 4 year old son began to speak of his past life where he died in a fire again today. This time, he told me his name from that lifetime. "Petey Osbird" is what it sounded like when he mentioned it. I know there could be many variations of the two names, and I have no idea where to begin looking to find any additional information on the name. I know it doesn't really matter, but it fascinates me to discover more. Initially, he said he was a boy, and that would make sense to an American, regarding a name like Petey. He has continued to speak about this life throughout the day, and later he said he was actually a girl, but insists his name was "Petey" I know there could be many variations of the last name, like Osbert, Ausbird, Ausbert, etc. I have no experience with name origins, and am curious if he could have lived in another country. He's mentioned many things about the life, and some things he seems to add by using his imagination. He is extremely creative, and it would be difficult for me to separate all fact from fiction with his stories, but he's mentioned dying in a house fire several times since he began speaking at 2, so I don't think he's imagined it, and the name is nothing like any names I've heard at his school or on tv, I don't know how he'd just make up a name like this off the top of his head first thing in the morning. Any help with the name origin would be greatly appreciated!

First you should keep a journal and write everything down, if you are not already doing so. Have you tried letting him draw pictures of what he remembers? Fire, etc? The name sounds like it's an English speaking country. Start by googling the name on the internet. People here can help. Ask him if he knows the date such as the year of the fire. Or ask open ended questions like "Did you have a car to ride in?" or "Did you have a TV?" Names of other family members? Since he is only 4 you have another couple of years or so until his memories fade.

The wife of our County Council in my home town was Petie Baldwin. So at least this variation could indeed be a girl's name. With regard to the last name, the variation that I noted was Osborn (only two letters different).

If you google "Petie Osberg fire" you will get lots of newspaper obit listings. That's a good place to start. I don't have time right now to do a detailed search.

It is not necessarily true that a child loses their past life memories at a certain age. At age ten my daughter brought out a huge number of details ... names, homes, occupations,etc .. all of these I was able to verify in local city directories.
