I just want advise from people who know about dreams and connections to past lives.

My daughter is nearly one year old. When I was about 5 mos pregnant with her, I had a dream. She was in water, in an intertube (well she was actually in water in my womb). But in my dream she was about 2 or 3 years old. She in real life is half chinese, half american. (her father being chinese). she was adorable, with dark ponytails. And she kept holding out her arms to me, saying "Kiyoko !!! Kiyooookkkooooo!!! over and over again...

I woke up and wrote down the name, and went back to sleep. I never heard this name before, so I wrote it down many different ways not sure of the spelling.

I researched it; it is a Japanese name (please read my post in the reincarnation question forum about my connections to japan). I lived in Japan before and never, never heard this name. I researched it; it is indeed Japanese. But it is not used in this modern day much; it is a very old Japanese name. And the meaning: Holy Child. unbeleivable.

Now my question is: is there a connection between her and I in Japan in the past? And who is "Kiyoko"?? I would have assumed it was her since she was the child, but she was holding out her arms to me calling me "Kiyoko!"; so I am a bit confused. Also, could it be she was calling me Holy because I chose life in a pregnancy that was not planned or supported by her father at the time ?? ( I carried and delived her alone but her father is now supportive and we live in China).

Note : she is currently Chinese blooded and not at all Japanese !

I'm trying to think of when a person, especially a child, would call an elder by their first name. The only thing I can think of is that of a younger sibling to an older sibling. But even then, it's by title - Kiyoko-neesan or just Neesan (older sister).


However, between a parent or an elder (grandparent, aunt, etc.) and a child, the elder would address the child by their first name. So, it might be possible that your daughter might have been an older relative or even your mother in a past life in Japan and that she was calling out to you. It seems that you and your daughter are very strongly connected.


Perhaps this strong bond that you have with your daughter relates to a past life in Japan and that's why you heard her calling you by what might have been your name in that lifetime.
 
Just Kiyoko? No -san,-chan, -oneesan, -oniichan? If so, she is an older relative as jere said. If you like I can help you, all of my friends are obsessed with Japan so I know a lot of their culture. By the way, if you are new here; welcome to the forum!

I agree with jere, just because your daughter is the child, and you are the adult today, it doesn't mean that this has always been the case. As jere said, it's possible that your daughter could have been your mother, your father, or a sibling in a past life. It's relatively common to be reborn into the same family while switching roles between lives. Also, are you positive that "Kiyoko" is a name in this case? I'm totally unfamiliar with the Japanese language, but as in English, I'm sure some Japanese words must have more than one meaning - just something to consider?

I agree very much with what ChrisR has said - just because she is your daughter in this life, it doesn't mean that she was always your daughter or younger than you in a past life. She could have been your father, mother, sibling, etc. in many prior lives that you both shared.


Also, Kiyoko is not too unusual as a first name, however the people I knew who were named "Kiyo" were born in the 1930's and 1940's (Kiyomi and an uncle named Kiyo).


Kyoko is more common and depending on the character/kanji for "Kyo", could have several meanings: respectful (child), (child of ) today, etc.


Have you ever thought about going through a past life regression session?

here is some further information that may be helpful: she was not pronouncing it Kiyoko. Ki (as in Key). she was saying more like:


Kai (as in umm....kai) yoko. Kai-yoko which doesnt make sense, so the closest name I could find is Kiyoko.


does this change everything? Kai-yoko; kai-yoko. no i am sorry there was not a ending such as chan, san, etc. it was simply like "Kai-yoko!!! kai-yoko!!" very exciting over and over again...can someone tell me if this changes it all?


I guessed Kiyoko simply because I couldnt find Kai-yoko it was the closest name I could find.:confused:
 
Kai-yoko... I have not heard of Kaiyoko. Only Kiyoko, Kikyo.. I'll try to check it out. My friends and I are quite familiar with Japanese culture.
 
Just a note...Kayoko is still a name, although like Kiyoko, is not too common. I think, if you stretched the name out, as if you're calling out for someone named Kayoko, it would sound as if there is an "i" in the name. Ka...yo...ko... ;)

But seriously, it appears to be an older name and probably not so common now, so it might give you an idea as to when you might have lived in Japan in a prior life. I'm thinking from the early 1900-1920's?


If you can find a good regressionist, it might help you in your search for answers. ;)

here's another thing to consider, you said she was in the water and kai also means water or ocean. could it not have been kai, yoko rather than a name?


maybe she was telling you, yoko, that she was in the water? or something similar?

Actually, "kaiyou" means ocean in Japanese but if she was telling someone named Yoko that she was in the water, even without saying much, she would have said, "Yoko...kaiyou..." or translated as "Yoko...ocean (that's where I am)". Kind of hard to explain here. My apologies if I'm not making sense.
 
I would fail miserably if I tried to learn Chinese (for some reason it seems harder to learn than Japanese, at least to me). :laugh::thumbsup:
 
In my opinion, announcing dreams such as these are more a matter of the heart than something that needs to be fact checked for accuracy. I would keep the name and imagery in mind, take comfort in the fact that your child clearly wanted you, and wait and see. Very soon language will develop, and she may let slip some more exciting clues.

totoro thank you for that point but in my dream to me it was clear that it was one name...kayoko, kiyoko and my feeling was it wasn't seperate....but thank you for givinng me something to think about...


maybe you are right? could it have been she was saying kai?? (water)......hmm..now i am confused:confused:

Wuxin thank you for the meaning of Kayoko ...it somehow takes the majic out of the Kiyoko holy child thing..but yes now that Jere explained it it was alot more like Kaaaaa (IIIIII)) yookoooo !!! (instead of kiiiiyookooo (as in key)...


the holy child thing touched my heart for months now but now i am thinking more it was definetly KAyoko....well i guess like someone said its the overall meaning that is important..she wanted to be with me:angel:

Kiyoko_moon...I just read your post again. Your daughter is nearly a year old. As Blueheart said, language will soon develop and when that happens, you never know - she might say something that may help in answering some of your questions.
