Memories of The 1930s NY

HI Lily,

I just love reading about your memories. I was in New York, as you know in July, and the descriptions you give of the apartments is exactly like what I saw. I told you that in an e-mail I think.

I am eager to hear more and especially what you have found that could help you validate your memories.

Hi Lily

I loved the way you explained the prune seed memory on the train…just goes to show how the some of our most “traumatic” memories stay with us…and as a child, it is always a lot harder to distinguish between one memory and the other, as our minds are so free…hell, it’s hard enough as an adult!!!

I wonder, (I don’t think I’ve already asked, or seen you mention such)…but have you been to New York and the areas you remember in these memories??? I’m mighty curious to what kind of feelings and other memories would arise from seeing the places in your memories.

Hi Deborah,
Thank you for your interest in my story once again! I know it's been quite a long time since I first posted my story about my many PL memories of NY in the 1930s...I know you were very helpful to me before, and I'm still grateful to you for the help and advice you gave me back then.

I do remember receiving your email telling me about the brick buildings you saw during your visit to NYC, this was soon after you returned from NY, and I sent you a reply to your email... Though I now live in Portland, OR, I've spent most of my life in southern CA and I can definitely say that I've never seen buildings, either in CA (or anywhere else that I've lived or visited) that look like the apartments and other buildings I remember from my PL memories.

BTW, I love, "The Souls Center...is God," this is just the way I picture God and the center of the Universe.

Hi Kelly,
Thank you so much for your feedback! As usual I welcome both your feedback and your questions...When I think back, it now seems strange to me that I thought my PL father was my father in this life, because they looked so different from each other.--Yet I didn't seem to be able to distinguish, or compare the image of my PL father against my images of my present life father, (at least for a long time)...The father I had the quick flashback of, (from the prune seed memory) had a full head of black hair and a long face and his head was sort of egg shaped head, (I believe he looked something like the actor Jimmy Stewart)... My father in this life had a round face and he had very fine, thinning, brown hair and was balding on the top of his head.

No, I have never been to New York, yet many pictures I've seen of NY, either in books, or in films or documentaries shown on TV, look very familiar to me.

Hi Lily

I thought I'd bring this thread up in the hope you're still reading along. I found your memories incredibly interesting and so hoped you'd share some more with us.

Hi Kelly,
Thank you for your interest and the compliments! I intended to continue my story on (mainly about my attempts to validate my PL memories over the years) but I've been so busy with family matters lately that I put it on the back-burner...Since I know you're still hanging in there and interested in hearing even more of my story, I'll have to get my bu** in gear and continue on...I may wait until the weekend when I have more time, or I may decide to post sooner.

It is an older thread - but a fascinating one. I thought perhaps Karoliina would enjoy reading it? ;) I also wonder how Lily is doing today.

Thanks, Deborah - I really did!

How vivid, but sad, memories! This is a great thread. :)

I actually lived in New York also in the 1940's and 1950's (during another PL) - closer to Lily's/Colleen's time, but I had a very different kind of life then, privileged if you like.
