That can be done through meditation, through an akashic reading or through hypnotic regression. Rest assured that there is a connection between you with such eventful manifestation occurring while incarnate...but do not have any expectations as to what that connection is as you will invariably surprised. My deepest associations in this lifetime have been with said former life's mother and sister, although I have knowledge of a possible past love relationship upcoming for which I could not have been prepared without the experiences attained to date. The human concept of love is miniscule in comparison to the soul's ability to love, and a soulmate you find while incarnate, despite the explosive quality, is merely the tip of the iceberg when compared to your mutual soul level regard.
My research into past lives and the metaphysical was sourced through a desire to understand the connections I had with various people...and even the lack of connections with some people. Why were my family members so close to me and each other while those of other families were not? Why do some people come into your life and your meeting is somehow of a singular enough quality that you never forget them and are in touch over time and distance without missing a beat? How is it that one woman, in the middle of a conversation on the other side of the bar, inspired a non-outgoing man to interrupt her conversation and somehow convince her to willingly commit to a year-long relationship within an hour long initial conversation?
These are all soul level connections, and it seems to me that when things happen easily or serendipitously, then we are witnessing our pre-birth planning following its proposed track. Our soulmates agree to play various roles for us as we do for them, and sometimes when we meet a soulmate with whom we are intended to interact deeply, we can almost overwhelm ourselves with the intensity of it...some layers of the veil between our incarnate being and our soul are pulled aside and we are allowed a glimpse of the deep regard and love we hold for each other in spirit. Conversely, when the veil is lowered and our spiritual connection is no longer evident, that sense of loss and heartbreak is equally intense and bitter.
I applaud you on your efforts to divine the connection with one you care for so deeply, but keep in mind that you very probably are also connected to a number of people around you. All those who affect your life have agreed to play that role, just as you have agreed to play yours...all for your mutual benefit...from a soul standpoint...not that of a human being.
