If you don't know about the Sylvia Likens murder, here's a summary of it:

Sylvia was a 16 year old girl who was left under the care of a psychopath housewife named Gertrude Baniszewski. Gertrude abused her, starved her, locked her in the basement, gave her scalding baths, burned her with lit cigarettes, used a needle to carve the words "I'm a prostitute and proud of it" on her stomach, and ordered her kids and the neighborhood kids to beat her. Sylvia eventually died from malnutrition, shock, and brain hemorrhaging.


I have many memories that aren't my own. Houses, people, faces, events, etc. I have had many vivid dreams of being held hostage, sexually assaulted, starved, beaten, and murdered (very similar to what Sylvia Likens went through).


When I watched these movies, The Girl Next Door and An American Crime (based on the murder of Sylvia Likens), I felt so sick to my stomach. I don't know how to explain it, but it was like I could feel her pain. It felt like deja vu, like I had experienced the torture she suffered.

When I learned that these movies were based on a true story, I researched everything I could about this poor girl and her torturers. I got chills down my spine when I saw Gertrude Baniszewski's face. She looked so familiar to me. I felt as if I already knew her. What creeped me out even more is the fact that Sylvia and I both share the same birthday, January 3.

I can't tell if I'm just crazy and overthinking or not

From the memories you’ve had, do you remember seeing who assaulted you? Also, have you researched/seen the house or house’s she lived in? Maybe the house’s you’ve seen from memories were the ones she was held hostage in, or where she experienced those traumatic things. It seems that you’ve recalled many other memories as well. Any correlations between the people in your memories and the actual people who were involved in her life?

That’s very interesting that you both share the same birthday.

welcome to the forum.
You are definitely not crazy, if you are overthinking only you can know. But I don't think so. You have memories, and you have recognized the face of somebody.
Having the same birthday doesn't mean much on its own, but in combination with memories and other signs it can support your theory.
I didn't know who Sylvia Liken was before I read your post, and you don't have any reason to subconsciously want to have been her. Who would want to be a crime victim?
Have you had any phobias as a child, things you were horribly afraid of? While many children are afraid of going to the cellar, as an example, if you had several such fears, that could be a strong indicator. Any particular likes or dislikes of Sylvia's time and place? Like a song or book children of her time would have liked or clothing style of her time?
I don't see why you shouldn't have been her. These must be very disturbing memories.

The case of Sylvia Likens was very cruel and disturbing. When I read about it I cried a lot. I was twelve years old when I read what happened to her. It's definitely scary.

And no, you're not crazy! When you feel connection or have suspicions about a past life, it's usually because something happens. Intuition is very wise sometimes.

It's interesting that your birthday is the same as Sylvia's. Do you feel a connection to songs or games that could be common at that time? You say you have memories, that's a point that's very important.
