Homosexuality

OK don't get your undies in a knot. I'd prefer to maintain a logical discussion free of emotional outbursts. This isn't about moral implications or the right or wrong of the subject, just a chance to understand it.
For the record, I'm not homosexual, homophobic or want to be either one. But now the preliminary stuff is done with I'd like to add that I've never understood how people of the same sex could be attracted to each other but obviously it does happen.
If I understand reincarnation... a person or personality, spirit, or "essence of a person" starts a new life in a new body after the previous body dies.
Imagine if a male dies but comes back in a female body. Would that explain why the "new" female would be attracted to other females in the new life? The spirit didn't change sexes only the body did.
Geez, I wrote that & can't make sense of it. I hope everyone else figures out what I was asking.
Anyway if the spirit started out as male with a normal attraction to females... and we take our personalities with us into the next life, but the 2nd time end up in a female body, logic suggests that the same attraction to females would continue to exist. Same might go for the opposite. ie female spirit in a male body.
OK I can imagine page after page of jokes & rude comments but please try to keep them to a minimum. For the first time in my life I'm serious & would really like to hear other's opinions on this.
We might get lucky and have someone here that has first hand knowledge that can share some insight.
I'm confusing myself... good luck with this one.

Hi JPariz

This is something that tends to confuse and upset people a lot about reincarnation. How can you be 'male' one life and 'female' the next? But it's not something that most people in the forum will make a fuss about, because this is the norm, not the exception, so don't worry about peole making a fuss. They won't. We (most of us) have heard it all before. Believe me. You can talk openly and safely here and people will (really) understand.

A couple of basic principles first.

1. The 'spirit' or 'soul' does not have a gender. The soul is neither male nor female (not having a body). The soul just 'is'. It's outside time. Outside matter. Outside space. Only bodies have genders. Bodies with genders (sex) is required to create new bodies. Simple biology. Welcome to the 'real' world.

2. A 'person'/individual/entity/soul can be a different gender from one life to the next. This is the norm, not the exception. I am female in this life. I am 'straight' a mother with two children. I have been female in the past two or three lives as far as I know, but I have also been male many, many times, then female again, then male again... I don't know why. It just happens. I remember what it was like to be male. I remember what it was like to be female. That was then and this is now. One day (who knows) I might be male again. Whatever. It's a roll of the dice / fate / destiny / whatever. I have no judgement about that one way or another. Male / female - different experiences in a body. It's all interesting. Different. It just is how it works. Confusing? Perhaps.

3. Same sex attraction is common throughout the human experience and indeed, it occurs in most species. It's nothing to make a fuss about. It may sometimes have something to do with past life experiences. Partly it may be due to simple biology - just natural variation and 'one of those things'. Nobody really knows.

4. Yes, absolutely you can love someone you have known before despite whatever gender you might both or seperately be in from one life to the next. This happens a lot.

5. More importantly, why do you ask?

It is my belief that a homosexual life may be planned by the individual to experience the difficulties and benefits of such an existence.

I read somewhere years ago that we have to experience everything from both sides. We have to experience being different races, different sex, sexual orientation, rich, poor, etc.

I think it's just simply biology. It happens; probably part of a choice we make on the other side as well. I'm a guy and consider myself bisexual. Though I don't have many memories, I know I have been both male and female many times. It's so even with me that it boggles my mind that people can't wrap their heads around switching genders. I'd be just as comfortable being a woman as I am being a man. Sometimes I wish I was a woman! But I also love being a man! I know what it feels like to be a gay, straight, bisexual, man or woman, and those feelings are very normal to me. Personally, neither my gender nor my sexual orientation have any affect on who I am and I believe I'd have the same personality regardless. But for many people, that's a big part of their lives...

Maybe it has something to do with who we used to be, but I somehow doubt it. I think it's all just a part of the "experience."

I disagree that a soul cannot be male or female. I think everyone has a natural place on the spectrum between male and female that stays the same from life to life. However most people are most people are either more in the middle or flexible so they can be comfortable in any body. The people who aren't tend to be either REALLY male or female. But that's just how I see it...

Anyway, what does being gay have to do with gender identity? You can be the most girly girl and like girls or the most macho boy and like boys. Gender, imo, is more to do with hormones than anything.

Personally, I feel straight but I feel a strong echo from the past of being attracted to girls and thus I used to be confused and date a lot of girls. It doesn't really matter, though.

Sarellah said:

I consider myself a soul first, a human second and a man or woman third. The determination of sexual orientation I leave to planning in preparation for the next life/play, and I will play the role my script requires...and I will play a wonderful man or woman...my soul defies type-casting.

Red Night, I couldn't agree with you more. I'd class myself as a bisexual woman and feel quite gender neutral, happy to be male or female, straight, gay, bisexual or asexual. I know I have been all of these things and hopefully will be again.

Just like you, sometimes I wish I was the opposite gender, most of my friends are male, but equally there are times I'm happy to be a woman. "Personally, neither my gender nor my sexual orientation have any affect on who I am and I believe I'd have the same personality regardless" - absolutely perfectly put!

You say that the soul has a gender, but then go on to say that gender is "to do with hormones", which are surely tied to the body, not the soul! I'm confused by your argument.

I believe that we are who we are, regardless of gender. Gender is such a confining term, a prison for our souls, which surely surpass such human ideals. Our experiences as different genders define us and indeed our memories of them, but that is all, in my view.

"Soul & gender" were words I should have used but couldn't come up with at the time.

I prefer being male, if my next time around I end up in a female body I doubt I'd like the added maintenance. (insert chauvinistic joke here)

Not sure why I asked. Just something that crossed my mind while reading another post. One of those things where one thought leads to another. Well... that didn't come out right. LOL

I grew up with a kid that "wasn't right" from day one & he turned out to be openly gay as an adult. No big surprise there but he commented once that he was born that way. I didn't clearly understand it so just accepted his word on it. Didn't matter much, he was my friend so I accepted him as he was.

If you are wondering I'm not hiding in the closet or have any intent or desire to convert from heterosexuality. Just curious about "the forbidden subject".

BTW it's pretty cool we can talk about anything here without prejudice or judgment.

I meant sexual orientation...Anyway, I don't really know for sure. Still pondering.

Please don't say he wasn't RIGHT. He was just DIFFERENT. There's nothing WRONG with being gay! Gay is okay!!

Anyway, I decided souls don't have genders. :) I hope I am right!

I'm the new kid on the block here and so far I've really been enjoying the insight and knowledge of the people here. I'm not here to judge, argue or offend anyone but I'm not going to dance around or sensor myself for the sake of political correctness either.

I never thought or said "alternative lifestyles" were not OK, in my mind, they simply exist.

I've always been neutral on the subject. If others choose to be different than me I'm totally OK with it. It would be pretty boring if we were all the same.

I've spent the majority of this life and likely a previous one defending the rights and freedoms of others. Seems pretty unlikely that is going to change anytime soon.

I'll step down from my soapbox now, I think I made my point.

Thank you sir! That was exactly what I meant.

A million years ago when I was a kid "gay" meant "happy". I don't know how homosexual and gay became one in the same as many "gays" are pretty miserable with the abuse they endure from others who have a problem with it. It's only been recently that it has become more accepted. I think we can compare it to racism. We still haven't evolved beyond that but it is slowly improving.

Young people often don't realize how far the "baby boom" had to evolve to get where we are now. Homosexuality really wasn't discussed, and I never heard the term "bisexual" until I was around 40! I've come from a ridiculous level of naivete' to a complete acceptance of "gayness" as an inborn trait, and am a full advocate of civil rights for gay people. That being said, I realize now how difficult life must have been for those of my peers who weren't "hetero". I'm pleased to say that, for my children, acceptance of others' sexuality was never a struggle at all. What was a dilemma for one generation is as natural as breathing for the next. I imagine the struggle for race equality was as difficult an issue to come to terms with for my parent's generation, as sexuality was for mine. But, it happened, and we are all better for it. Who says the human race can't improve? We can, and are!

Back in the 60's when I was growing up the word "Gay" had nothing to do with homosexuals. The term that was used then was "queer". You heard that word everywhere, especially at school. And that was a recent use also. 100 years ago the word "queer" simply meant different. I used to know elderly people, now dead, who would always say "that's queer". Nowadays we would say "that's odd". Words change their meanings over time.

BTW, do you know why San Francisco has such a large gay population? That's where the Army psychiatrists were based at the Presidio. That's where gays were kicked out of the Army. They didn't want to go home disgraced so they just stayed there. This was back when we had the draft. There were actually more gays in the military during the draft than there are today.

Wow that is interesting. I grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains.

The world is shrinking!

My father was born & raised in S.F.

His father started out as a Brakeman for the cable cars then eventually ended up as a supervisor.

My father's brother, my uncle was a CHP officer and his patrol area was S.F. Bay Area.

My Uncle on my Mom's side was a Deputy Sheriff for Santa Clara County.

My mothers uncle (another great uncle of mine) was the Marshal in Gilroy.

My Great Uncle was a tugboat Captain in S.F. Bay.

My Great grandfather was one of the founders of a large church nearby. Like a Bishop. I'm not going into detail as I don't want to tempt anyone into a religious debate.

Back in 1980, I became involved with a political situation that propelled me into the midst of politicians. They too, had many questions about this after Anitia Byrant mixed politic's with religion and started a 'smear' campaign. The politicians were aware of my background including my medical records. I had to sign papers to give them access to my confidential medical records and they validated that in 1966 - I was pronounced 'dead' by two physicians and came back to life. I was considered a 'mystic' by many who I grew up with and the 'politicians' felt I had proven to them the capacity for 'psychic' abilities. They wanted me to go 'undercover' into the gay community and ask a ton of questions about where, when and why they became gay. I had a photographic memory at the time and took a crash 3 month course that they said would have taken the average person 3 years to complete. Everything from biological factors, environmental factors, psychological factors - to peer pressure (bullies) as well as spiritual factors.

I started out in 1980 and threw a dart at the map and set up camp in a metropolitan area. I looked 15 and my target "interviewees' were High School age youth - to 21 year old males.

The first thing you have to do - to study this - is define 'gay.' What did gay mean and who fit the criteria. If a person has a 'desire' (crush) but never acts upon it - is he a 'closet case?' I was looking at 'promiscuous' when I started - but those who identified themselves as 'gay' (or exclusively attracted to the same gender) were not generally promiscuous. There was no fast and easy rule to categorize what 'gay' meant.

The community that I infiltrated was sharply divided. There was a segment of youth only interested in the 'monetary' gains provided by some. Those who were active in that sort of activity - would NOT identify their selves as 'gay' or 'queer' and felt it was for advancement only. (They felt insulted to be identified as gay or queer - even though they actively engaged in homosexual activity.) Their primary attraction was for the opposite gender - but - they were not ready for that responsibility yet.

In my interviewers of thousands of young men who had engaged in 'homosexual' activity in their past - the biggest percentage of them would not identity themselves as gay - and felt it was a manner of 'sowing their wild oats' before settling down with the 'right mate' or 'opposite gender.' (This went on in the High School community - behind closed doors and out of sight.) In my survey - the ones who were in it for the 'long haul' without a doubt in their minds - always told me - they were born that way. (There was a percentage of guys involved in the community and identifying themselves as gay - but if they marked a moment at a certain age when they 'turned' gay - they were not 'truly gay' as much as they were going through a face. In my mind, 'there were the ones 'mixed up' about it.)

You would probably have to see me do it - to believe it could be done. It was something I was able to do with the politicians. I could speak directly to a person's spirit on their behalf. I had to have permission from the human involved. I could tell anyone (gay, straight, black, white, young, old, male or female) secrets that their 'inner spirit' had sight of. It would shock everyone and anyone I did this 'psychic' trick with. I could tell a person something no one else in the world knew about. If you shoplifting a candy bar at the age of 12 and no one saw you do it - I could tell you about it. Ever time I was involved in an interview - I would ask permission to 'speak' to their spirit directly. (I didn't have to speak out-load. It was psychic.) If someone told me they turned gay at the age of 16 when such and such happened, I would ask his spirit for confirmation. Every time the spirit would reply something like "he is a little mixed up right now. It will pass." If they told me they were born gay - I would ask the spirit for confirmation and 100% this would be confirmed by their inner and hidden spirit. For me - that became the trademark and sign of someone who was truly born with the 'spiritual destiny' of being exclusively attracted to the opposite gender. It was so accurate in my line of questioning that (even without the psychic confirmation) I am willing to wager my own soul on gay people who state this - are speaking a truth that had sight of from a very early and young age.

In the end, I was stating that some were born that way and there were others who got into it because of the world - for what every reason. Some felt it applied to a scripture in the Bible. I asked for confirmation from spirit about the verse and it was confirmed. (See: Thesis.)

I came to call the one's mixed up as 'wolves in sheep's' clothing and I felt this was the segment of people who were mixed up and in the process 'giving gay people' a bad reputation. I had to devote 5 years of my life to this study and I was constantly at risk (more so by the gay community than the straight) because I was asking so many questions. I was never involved with anyone in the gay community - so - they became very suspicious and looked at me for what I was. I was a spy (intelligence officer) working for a hidden branch of the US government. At the end of my five year period - I let the cat out of the bag and told them I was a spy collecting data for future policy matters. I told them they would probably like my overall recommendation. Legal recognition for 'partnerships' or 'unions' to battle the appeal of 'lust and promiscuity' that many 'gay people' got caught up in the trap of - before settling down with a mate. Every gay person who said they felt they were 'born' that way - had that as a goal and dream. To find 'mr. right' and settle down in a monogamous relationship. I passed that 'dream' on up the chain of command. Of course, there were a lot of "Republicans' who despised me for that. (It was a bipartisan panel that I worked with.)

I told them the only way you could change the attraction factor in persons whose spirits where identified as gay - was to kick God out of the 'drivers' seat and take control of the universe. Trust me, there are politicians and clergy in the world who feel they have the big enough shoes to walk in - that are bigger than God's shoes.

The problem with 'promiscuity and lust' is not a gay problem. I think everyone in the world has to come face to face with it at one point or another. It is a human thing because we are are 'sexual beings' one way or another.

Sincerely,

DKing

On the flip side and relating to reincarnation. One of the topics I spoke about with the 'politicians' was the fact that I had 'psychic' information and knowledge about two friends who were gay in their last lives - and had plans to come back into the world again as 'gay young men' again. What made this statement stand out for the politicians was - one of the young man hadn't died yet. I told them about a 'spiritual talk' we had shared when he had access to his inner mind - and his 'spirit' was whispering secrets into the both of our ears. Neither one of us knew exactly how to 'deal' with the 'secret' from spirit at the time - but we were both preparing ourselves for the spiritual prediction that we had been given - to come true. Our idea and understanding was - it wasn't from our minds of understanding as much as it was from the "mind of God's understanding."

What we had been told (by spirit) was - that is path was going to be temporary interrupted and when he started his new life and reached a certain age in the new body and mind - he would pick up exactly where he left off on the 'spiritual' trail pertaining to his sexual identity.

The politicians sent investigators to my hometown. It was no big secret in our neighborhood or at the school he had attended that he was gay. He wasn't flamboyant or effeminate in his actions. He was a fighter and he wasn't ashamed of himself. Many tried to shame him for it - but he fought like a 'wildcat' to keep his dignity and won many battles on the block and on the school playground. He was actually admired by many for that reason.

In 1981 - his death came just as (spirit) had predicted it would which I had shared with the politicians in 1980.

I also had a 'gay friend' who was female who died in 1980. Through spirit - I told the politicians when she came back - she wasn't coming back as a she - but a he -- and there was a theme that was going to be picked up on again - just exactly where she had left off.

The testimony I gave to the politicians based on the spiritual insights I had gathered was - if there was a 'theme' that was interpreted and it had to do with 'sexuality' and a pairing of the same sort of 'spiritual energy' flow - it wouldn't stop until that cycle was completed.

So the idea that either one of them would have 'checked out' of this world and got to the other side - and decided they were 'wrong' about being gay - and 'then' tried to make a choice to live a life as a 'straight' man or woman - would be totally impossible. My understanding at the time (while spirit was with me in the room talking to the politicians) they couldn't break from that cycle until it was totally completed. The 'spirit' had to run it's course - even if it took 10 life times to complete.

I refereed to it as 'football' game. The period of play was not over until they scored the 'goal' of a touchdown. Just as their are rules for the 'game play' in football - so where their rules in reincarnation. You couldn't stand on the sidelines, or in the middle of the field and switch up the rules to satisfy your own personal taste. Reincarnation didn't involve one single person (or player.) It involves every single person (or spirit) on the planet. We are in the middle of the 'game play' and you can't switch up the rules because society (all of a sudden) has a 'thing' against being 'gay.'

I do believe that Ian Stevenson is the one who initially suggested that a person may have been a 'female' in a past incarnation - and then get mixed up when incarnated into a 'male' body - as if it is a hard transition psychologically or emotionally.

This was brought up in the meetings I had in 1980 and I had already had experience with meeting a 'soul mate' from a past life. I met my 'former wife' from a past life when I as 14 years old. She was now a 'he' and approached adolescence in a new body and mind. It was confusing for the both of us but - he didn't identify as being 'gay' and - in fact went on to get married and have a family and children. He had a 'that was then and this is now' approach and he was never confused about his 'current' gender or his 'inner' sexual identity. He had a strong dream and desire to find a wife and have children in this life time and felt that was his 'life purpose.'

When it comes to this issue - I don't think there is a 'rule' of one size fits all. Maybe some will be effected by it - and maybe some will not.

In the meeting - I told the politicians (from what I had been taught by spirit) there were three forms of sexual expression. Procreation, spiritual and pleasure. Where a spirit was in the cycle path would be dependent on what had been accomplished in their past. There were primary causes and secondary purposes that would overlap the three cycles. The lowest of the three was 'pleasure' and if a person was stuck in a cycle that the primary and secondary cause was strictly pleasure - that is when 'lust' as a weakness would filter in for the sake of 'adding' strength for a future incarnation. I didn't look at it as 'bad or good.' I just looked at it as progression of 'cycles, stages or phases.' Once you 'mastered' the lower cycle - then your next incarnation this lower cycle would the foundation for your 'greatest strength.'

I was up against the mindset that 'homosexual's' were like 'weeds' that had to be uprooted from our society and thrown in 'trash bin' and stomped out of 'God's Garden' on earth.

Anyway, a little more insight to my own experience with this theme and some of the lessons I feel I have learned from it pertaining to reincarnation.

Sincerely,

DKing

I'm sure you did not intend to offend anyone JPariz, but were perhaps just being a little lackadaisical with your choice of words. It's important to remember that sometimes hundreds of people read these threads, some of them are very young, and you never know if someone might be feeling a bit scared or vulnerable or whatever.

We like everyone to feel safe and welcome and able to talk/read about anything here (within the forum boundaries). Sometimes these topics can be very sensitive for people, so it's not a matter of 'censorship' as such, but it is important to 'play nice' and be considerate of others.

Thank you for starting such an interesting discussion.

true...each generation changes the way they speak :) I just tend to be a little sensitive to words lol and their meanings

I also share the belief that souls do not have sexes/genders. Souls are neither (or both?).

As for homosexuality - it's another thing to experience and learn in the greater scheme of lessons. I think it's innate in the body and so probably known by the soul at the time they choose said body.

I haven't felt the slightest bit of disrespect for anyone here... (Yet lol) and hope I didn't come across as such. But I maintain my belief that if we can't communicate openly, regardless of the subject the forums are pointless.

Miscommunication is likely in the future so I hope everyone feels comfortable asking for clarification before feelings get hurt.

I'd like to add that it's been incredibly interesting to interact with so many people that know so much more on these topics than I do. Thanks everybody!

An interesting thread with intelligent participation. Thank you everyone for your thoughts. It is threads like this, with open and compassionate discourse, that make our forum what it is.

A belated welcome Jpariz, thank you for joining!

I think that sexuality and sexual choice may be effected in some way by past experiences. Perhaps these experiences are beyond this life, perhaps not. Perhaps in some, more effected by hormones or environment than others may be.

All I do know is that the mind and soul are very powerful in its influence of the body. If mental stress alone can make one sick, even without a lack of sleep or nutrition, I cannot say it can't effect sexual drive or focus either.

Love and affinity have nothing to do with bodies. Do the two work together?

I agree...and I believe we choose during our planning which souls we are going to be attracted to...those souls have a corresponding role to play with us...it is pretty clean and clear to me, with obvious mutual benefit.

How do you choose who is a strand in your braid of souls? In the soulmate thread some individuals spake of soulmates who aren't a positive influence. How, with an assumption that is personally not familiar to me, seeing the soul essence of another so accurate in planning that one chooses these soulmates and lets them in to life despite this influence. Could, then, this assumption based on the sight of this be incorrect?

What could one choose other souls to love with, if such a method could be so flawed in evaluation of spirit? How could something so near to one's self seem to be so wrong?
