Frightening message in my dreams.

Loooong story...
I had a greatgrandmother (from my mother's side). In my teens, I had to share a room with her for several years and let me say, it was not easy. Not only because of our huge age difference, but also because of all negativity which was coming from her. Not only. She also told me very mean things - that my future husband will beat me. That I do not deserve anything good in life. That I am awful and mean person. She told even my grandmother and my parents that I tried to kill her and that I beated her - not true!

You may think and say that probably it was because she was old and that maybe not was okay in upper floor. But she was totally independent, in a great health and with a very sharp mind. Even in her 90s.

Anyway, we lived this way for several years. My grandmother worked abroad, so my parents moved in in the apartment to take care of me and my greatgrandmother. They decided that it would be better for me if I would have my own room, so my greatgrandmother started living in the same room with my parents. I know it was not easy for them either, so I am still thankful that they took this step.

Several years later, my greatgrandmother fell in coma after getting several strokes and a heart attack all in once and died several weeks later, on the same day as is my father´s birthday. She had been ill for several months and me and my mother were taking care of her as much as we could, to ease her life and make her feel good.

Month or so, after her death, she came in my dreams to ask for the directions toward the light. And it was last time I saw her till...

...till several years later, after my grandfather´s (from my father´s side) death.

One night, I saw in my dreams my greatgrandmother. She was floating and she told me "They took him instead of me!" with such malicious joy.

I woke up, sweating. I think I had never been so worried and so scared. I just felt that I will not get rid of negativity of my greatgrandmother so soon...

What do you think? Was it just a dream or something more? What was this message about and who are THEY?
Thanks for those, who took their time to read it. I just really needed to get it off my chest.

Hi Lily,

I understand how this must be very disturbing to you.

Strange how synchronicity works. I had been thinking about something similar today, regarding a nightmare I had about my mom after she passed. My relationship with my mom wasn't bad, and she was not an abusive mother. But I had mixed dreams after she died, most of them were benign, and just the type where she was there, and the dream was about how sick she had been, but she recovered, or something like that. One dream was horrible, however. She was abusive in very disturbing ways. It stuck with me for a few months, because it was so vivid but terrible.

Anyway, I don't think it was a valid message type of dream for me. Maybe, it was a way of dealing with negative feelings, or maybe just a dream, and maybe in your case that could be the reason, as well.

Oh well, perhaps. At least I hope so. For me, this case was long closed when I saw this dream. Perhaps then for some part of my brain, it was not :)

Gosh Lily

Your great grandmother sounds very, very unpleasant! People who are unpleasant in their lives are often unpleasant in the after life as well it seems!

If this dream is so strong and is still bothering you, it could be some sort of message from 'the other side'. I'm no dream expert though. I'm not sure what to do to get rid of this malevolent influence of your great grandmother, but perhaps I'd be asking 'the universe' to keep her away from me! Blood or not, I wouldn't want a spirit like that in my life.

Perhaps she is a ghost and didn't want to go to the light after all then saw it and was glad her spirit did not have to go to it.

I think memories of her got stirred up in your subconscious, due to the death of your grandfather. I believe it would've been just a nightmare or so, I don't see the dream being related to a real message and I wouldn't worry if I were you. I know it must be very stressful, and I'm greatly sorry for your loss! :(

My brother had nightmares similar to this after a relative passed, and it really held no messages even though it was haunting. I hope you find some comfort. I would think that your great grandmother sees things a lot clearer in the afterlife and I can't imagine her being so cynical, despite how she was here on earth. This is of course just my opinion, but I would meditate or pray on it (if you are religious) and that will probably make you feel better about it.
