I don't mean if you dream a certain past life, i.e. see yourself in 1950's Brooklyn. I mean if you have a dream where you're contemplating past lives. Is there any credence to those?
A few days ago I had a dream about a friend who was Jewish for a while. (She's done a lot of journeying in her life, let's put it that way.) There was no truth to the dream whatsoever, but then I also had a dream where I realized I'd been Jewish in a past life. A broken shoe sole and water was involved.
I've never felt any specific connection to Judaism, although I do feel that the Hebrew Bible is important and too often overlooked by other Christians, and one of the things that has always struck me is that Christians don't celebrate most Jewish holidays, despite the fact that Jesus was Jewish, unless some of those holidays came later or were redefined. (For instance, Maundy Thursday is essentially Passover.) I DO often think I might have been an early Christian, though I can't really say why. Perhaps that's the connection, although I feel like the dream was talking about a time well after Christianity as we best know it had been established.
ETA: I edited and left something out. I should add that I have been to a synagogue and to Jewish ceremonies, and I never felt any sort of "trigger." Although the same could be argued for being Christian - if I grew up in a western society before I more likely than not would have been exposed to Christianity, and yet I never really felt any triggers there, either. But even though I wasn't raised particularly religiously, I also saw churches in movies and went to them for weddings, so they weren't totally new to me.
So if I don't feel any connection, does that mean it was probably just a weird dream? The only other thing I can think is that I might have had connections with Jewish people in my past lives, although it's possible I belonged to a different branch of Judaism than what I have seen.
Same with another dream I had, where someone else in my life was telling me that we were together in a past one, that it all makes sense. Very strange, although in that case I can believe we had at least one PL together.
