Do you think time is speeding up?

I've been thinking this for the past couple years or so ... wondering what everyone else thinks.

As I get older, my perception of time seems to have shifted. Time seems to speed along. This was not the case when I was young.

I think I'm getting older, possibly going slower than what I was accustomed to when perceiving time from a young persons mentality. I can't watch the video at the moment- so my answer is based off the question alone. Are you able to summarize what is in the video?

Things seem to be coming at us faster and faster, and they seem to be closer and closer together. It is like being on a train as it speeds up--the telephone/power poles seem to flash by faster and faster and to be closer and closer together. But I don't think "time" has speeded up, it seems to me that noteworthy events are happening in more and more rapid succession. And, that these events seem increasingly ominous--at least IMO. Everything seems to be rushing towards some climactic period of maximum disorder and change. Consider childbirth, how the contractions get closer and closer and the pain worse and worse, until . . . . a baby is (hopefully) born. Jesus compared the coming of the Kingdom to this process. Are we in such a period? Can something good come of this? Possibly. But I don't look forward to what lies between us and the culmination of such a process. To me it looks like the last quarter of 2024 will be very difficult and that the next 4 years (25-28) could be even worse. Time will tell, but I am thinking seriously about taking steps to assure that I can keep my well pumping if the power is off for an extended period, and putting in a shallow well that I can hand pump as a fall-back. We may also lay up some emergency food supplies, etc. I've never done anything like this before in the course of a pretty long life, but I can't see that it could hurt. ;)

This is fairly normal with age and as well the times we're all living in. As for the times well this is pretty much going to be it for a lot of people as the next few years to decades play out and likely the end of the current civilization.

Hi TABA,

Agreed on most of what you have said. I guess the big question is whether this "end" is going to be a death, a rebirth, a transformation, or (as seems most likely) a combination of all three. There are a lot of possibilities. At the moment I am not leaving anything out, and have viewed or read online a variety of Catholic prophetic sources, Charismatic/Pentecostal prophetic sources, New Age prophetic sources, prognosticating astrologers, etc. etc. I suppose the list could get even larger, but dealing with clashing philosophies and world-views can be a bit of a strain. I should probably take notes, but between predictions of political turmoil, war, famine, plague, physical and/or geological turmoil, and divine intervention, it is hard to know where to start. However, it can all be summarized in terms that might be used for those in the passenger seats of an airliner: (1) We are about to enter some very stormy weather with extreme turbulence expected; (2) we are having engine difficulties with one engine sputtering and warning lights on for some of the others; (3) fasten your seat-belts, and if the faces masks drop tend to yourself first and then those around you; (4) if the plane goes down those in control will naturally try to find a level place for an emergency landing (for their own benefit if not for ours)--I'm hoping they can; and (5) you should familiarize yourself with the locations of the emergency exits and be prepared to exit quickly if we survive such a landing.

But who knows? People are always making sour predictions and anticipating the end of the world. Time will tell.

One thing I believe in- and choose to experience, is life as a perpetual state of opportunity. Whether a moment goes by in the blink of an eye, or is being dragged out to no end- I constantly remind my self now is an opportunity.

The writing is on the wall for the whole world to see that change is needed as things can't continue as they are and current society is profoundly sick beyond any rational belief. Without healthy change the only other option is for it to be destroyed and to start over on a clean slate otherwise future generations will exist only as slaves so a select few can have it all and humanity as a species is slowly destroyed.

I believe that that is a constructive expectation.

I believe that your assessment and expectation aren't' constructive. On one hand, this is because I believe that my beliefs and expectations create my reality by attracting and associating with similar situations. On the other hand, it is because conditioning change by others' will, sets up what subconsciously I know to be an unreachable goal, hence an expectation of failure, while blaming my failure on others.

Jody, Interesting question. I don't think time itself has changed speed in anyway. After all time has existed long before we ever arrived here on earth. However, I do feel it is us as human beings that have changed on how we perceived time. Well at least linear time as we understand it anyway. So, as our consciousness expands and unfolds, vibrating at a higher frequency time appears to speed up.

This is one thing I have noticed while consciously having an out of body experience. When I am aware of being away from my physical body and in the astral plane it seems a lot of time has passed while having my experience there. But when I return to the physical body and I'm awake and aware I realized by looking at the clock only a small amount of time has passed here. What seems like hours over there only five or ten minutes have passed here. I believe this is because my consciousness was vibrating at a higher frequency while on the 4th dimension. When I shifted my awareness back here on the physical plane the vibration slowed down. As the physical plane is on the lowest frequency bandwidth of the spectrum within our multidimensional universe. This goes for dreaming as well since in reality dreaming is an out of body experience. Just one in which we are not aware of being out of the body. We all do this every night. Usually, several times a night in fact but have no awareness of it.

So, it's our perception of time that has changed. Not time itself. I hope this made senses in trying to describe this.
Thanks for asking the question.

Love and peace.

Hi Polaris,

It makes sense. I have experienced days in a nights worth of dreaming.

What do you think about the opposite?

In a meditation, I watched an orb descend into me. There was no sound wherever I was, but the orb appeared noisy. It was a brilliant/staticky light. I was certain the meditation only lasted 15 minutes, the experience itself(I thought) was only a minute or two. Over 2 hours had passed when I came to. I started the meditation awake and I don't think I actually fell asleep.

I live on an off grid farm half the time. I have to say this because I don't think time in itself is speeding up, technology is making it appear to.

When I am off grid during the day I work on the horses, or a field or what have you. At most the tech I use is an MP3 player and a bluetooth speaker. At night, it passes faster because I get on my phone, but in general, it feels like I spend more time there because I am using less tech. I spend 3 days there.

I come to the house in town, where I have all the tech: computers, WiFi, you name it, and the 4 days I am spending here is gone in a flash. I think tech is a time sink and we lose so much in it because we pay no attention to life around us, it's all on a screen.

Heh I'm gonna sound maybe a bit looney but I don't care. When I was a kid I was always taught 1 second counted by the time you can say "one Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi...." it doesn't now. It's quicker, one second counts before you're done. It's about half the time. So, time's moving about half a second quicker. Therefore one minute is more like 30 seconds, meaning each minute is quicker too then by half. Let that sink in and think of what it means for speed of time flowing.

I wonder if there's any relationship between our access to information, data and technological advancements with relation to our perception of time... ?

I'd say so. we're distracted (or have the potential to be) for every waking moment of our lives.

I think we've become distracted from the natural rhythms of life and we've lost the quiet time necessary for processing and personal reflection.

I learned the same method for counting seconds. I tried this today, and it took twice as long! 😲

I tried too... But then I remembered I used to count "1 mississippi" faster as a child than how I count "1 mississippi" now.
Now my thoughts move much slower and with greater clarity than what I experienced as a developing child.

I know I don't count at a different pace because of who taught me to do it. It was a gym teacher of mine, and he let me hold a stop watch and showed me how as I said it a second passed. I learned the pace as I watched the stop watch. It was part of our track & field day, and I was helping this way because I was unwell and not able to participate in a regular way.
