can two lifetimes overlap?

Hello everybody,

maybe this question has already been answered in other threads, but I'm wondering whether it could be possible for two lifetimes to overlap. I always thought there should be some time in between two reincarnations, even as short as a few days, but I noticed that some people remember overlapping reincarnations, even on this forum, and I am a little bit confused.
How can a soul enter a new body if it's still connected to another living person?
Can a soul split? What would be the reason for such a phenomenon? And if this really happens, how would someone feel about it? Would you feel like a part of you is missing?
Michael Newton for example doesn't take this option into consideration in any of his books.
I'm very interested in your thoughts and opinions about it!
Thank you

I think personally that if a soul can divide and live more than one incarnation at once, then it's not much of a stretch to assume that incarnations could overlap either. Whether or not it is the case, I don't know. I've heard and read that it's possible, but haven't received any personal insight into it.

I think I lean towards it being the case as, from what I understand, there is a part of the soul that stays in spirit during each physical incarnation. If this is the case, then I would say that proves the 'division' theory.

The simple answer is yes. It's been many years since I've read Newton's books, but from memory I'm sure he does raise the issue of the soul leaving some energy behind when it reincarnates. I also recall some discussion that how much 'energy' we take with us is dependent on the challenges we have planned for ourselves - i.e. less, if it's a relatively stress free life with few challenges we have mapped out for ourselves, and more for a difficult and highly challenging life. It makes sense then that our soul energy can be split between simultaneous lives too, and overlapping lives as well. I've done it.

Also, think about the fact that as we age our activities slow or cease (therefore is probably energy sitting idle). And, as newborns, we spend our time essentially eating and sleeping, and so apart from that we're really not challenged much. So yes, overlapping lives are very possible.

It is my belief the soul is a great deal more "large" (for lack of a better word) and powerful than indicated in the Newton books. The fact only a portion of our soul's energy is used to "ensoul" our bodies in no way limits what our soul can do while we "live". Further, I believe while I am male and live in Florida, I also have another portion of my soul incarnated as a woman in the northeastern US...her experience there is as difficult as mine here is easy. There may also be more, though I have obtained no specific information of others outside of the possibility.

Through guidance, I understand from the soul's standpoint, if you can do one incarnation, why not do two, or even three if it fits your purpose. They key is each soul has talents, proclivities, specialties which they can use to benefit themselves and any other being interested. Those of us incarnate have souls which specialize in a razor-sharp focus allowing us to sustain a life of assumed separation within a very narrow band of consciousness...that thin dimension which holds our "reality". Think of us as the "Indiana Jones's" of the spirit world, because leaving perfection to come live here for awhile can be daunting for any being.

These are my impressions and they fit my current view...I am not saying this is the way it is...just that it works for me.

How do you find out if you have Sims?

Also, if my Sim has a very difficult life, can I help them somehow to lessen their trauma/

I asked guidance for a dream. I had dreams about my current "Sym" for two nights in a row. I don't think we're supposed to be constantly aware of them. Can you imagine the reunion on the other side, where we compare notes?

Well... as in all things relating to "the other side" we can never be certain of anything. Each one of us have our own unique perspectives and interpretations on common experiences. I think it is imperative in our spiritual pursuits to maintain an open mind on all encountered perspectives.

As I read your question, my inclination and opinion (from my experience) says no, it is not possible. BUT, Firebird has offered his/her opinion and that has some merit for consideration. From the teachings I've studied as a Buddhist-Christian, that path of thought, for me, speaks of a single entity for "soul." YET! Yet, of a shared commonality or theanthropism with the Creator. Does this shared state mean a split or some form of duality? We can never know for sure... and I think that is one of our purposes... to learn and to study and to discern.

So my reply in a nutshell is: who knows. But, do what you are doing, keep looking and studying this life. Take your questions to the solitude, meditation or prayer (what ever your tradition) and sit in communion with the world before you. This, and your research here, and in books, will help you come to an understanding. My advice is never take any of it as "gospel," leave room for growth.

Blessings!

If we look at the possibility of split incarnations from a traditional religious viewpoint, an example exists in the "Divine". We have the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost of the Trinity. Granted, the Divine has infinitely greater energy to "split" than we do, but "as above, so below". Patterns repeat throughout heaven and earth. If I follow that train of thought further, it would suggest that our soul energy would not split into more than three incarnations at once.

I cannot connect with my sim because I do not think I can view its essence, and like so, it cannot connect with mine. Certainly if such a thing were to exist perhaps I simply could not view it. Or perhaps it is idle?
