A Memory in the Mail

My hair is really long and thick, and I recently bought myself a hair stick off of Amazon so that I could put my hair up in a bun without using using a million pins and hair ties. As soon as I stuck it into my hair, I had a mental flashback to my female past life in Greece. I was putting my curly hair up using a very similar tool to the one present day me bought online.

Has anything like that happened to anyone else? Not so much the mail thing, but just remembering a shared habit like that? So simple, but kind of cool how things like that carry over.

For a more fun question, have you ever tried to replicate a hairstyle from a past life? that might be my project for tomorrow

I have done many hair things unconsciously. It's interesting how for women it's such a part of their identity. I'm male in this life and I had james dean like side burns in my late teens. I found a photo of me in my last life with a manchu hair style and the hair on the sides of my head were plastered down in almost the same way. at that age, we looked nearly identical. I constantly flip and brush hair that doesn't exist off of my shoulders and face.. I don't seem to be giving up the habit any time soon.

I love the name of the post you did :) clever & fun

Yes, I know just what you mean.

When I was little i had ridiculously long hair but my mom who had much shorter let me have it. I would become a drama queen each time my parents wanted to cut it and they had to promise not to take me to the hair cutter because I thought they cut too much of it. There is this old photo my mom took when my dad had put me on a chair to cut my hair. I look like I could kill both her and him at that photo, was very young, and he looks as if he is very carefully trying to cut it without having a kid that will erupt with rage. I also hated taking showers, taking baths, anything were water got over my head, my hair. During past life regression meditation, in very deep state, I was drowning and then saw my body from the outside (still trying to get into it), and my hair was, yes, ridiculously long, female, 1920's. Now, recently, in another experience of another past life I was a female in the 1880-90's and putting my looooong hair up for the night. In my most recent past life a man I was for a time married to (he would be married, divorced plenty of times ) manipulated me to cut it short, I did not want to but did so anyways, only to hate it. It was just one of his ways of demanding to be in charge of me and not just letting me be me and I fell into some strange feeling as if it was my duty to do this (before I woke up from this trance and took back, bit by bit, what I had lost, and really fought to have my hair the way I liked it. I still remember him saying "Don't you want to please me?" Like don't you love me? If you love me you look like I want you to look. Eh, no. That's not how it works. I divorced him). After the dramatic cut I grew it long.

I have had too a similar feeling when working with my hair to get it up or to get it in some fashion. Today I have much shorter hair, my choice, little past my shoulders.

For me, even though I had a flashback to a female life, my hair is much more apart of my male identity. My most recent life was as a Native American man who was pretty proud of his long hair and it's likely the reason I keep mine long now.

I hear you lol. I used to get really upset when my mom or grandma tried to mess with my hair and I loathed getting it cut.

For my Greek self, however, the only thing I can say is that I'm grateful that I don't have her natural loose curls. Just thinking about trying to handle that makes my arms hurt
