Hi my name is parker and I'm 14 I have vivid dreams and flashbacks of running through a battlefield whith a m1 Garand while I'm being shot at. In one of my dreams I remember shooting over a Trench And then I hear screaming in German and I wake up right before I get stabbed in the right side of my neck and everytime I wake up I have a sharp pain in my neck and cant expose my neck or else i feel like someone will stab me. I like to play airsoft and i knew how to keep calm when under fire immediately and could handle a firearm ever since i could hold one. Back in 3rd grade this kid tackled me during recess and I remember closing my and bracing for impact but I never felt anything but when I opened my eyes I was sitting on top of him with my right hand punning his hood to the ground and my left in tight fist ready to punch. Whenever I hear a pair raid siren I always get flashbacks.

Were you on the German side or the Allied side? How do you feel about National Socialist Germany? America? Britain?

I was in WWII, but it’s complicated...

The M1 Garand is a semi-automatic rifle from the US so most likely American. I was German during WWII but I defected a few days before the war ended and I spied as an American during the Cold War. I tried to avoid the Western Allies as much as possible because I was partly British in that life so I was mainly focused on the Soviets. I wasn’t a soldier but I involved myself in espionage.

It’s nice to finally meet a WWII Allied Soldier(it wouldn’t make sense for an Axis soldier to use an American gun unless it’s a stolen weapon and the soldier doesn’t have a choice if he doesn’t have his own weapon).

Hello Parker,
Welcome to the forum, I'm hardly here these days but I too was an American Soldier during WWII
An 101st Airborne medic killed in Germany

I lived as a German, and a soldier in ww2. Which nobody could have guessed now - unless they know of these kind of things and look me deep into my eyes. He, he...

I have experienced memories of being a civilian during WW2, growing up in it. I saw 3 types, the Italians, the Germans/The Nazis and the Americans, and then I ended up marrying an Italian-american dressed in khaki (at the time I hated all wars and looks of any soldier, only wished for peace and for boys to be boys again),

I hope you have or will have good memories too and not just war-memories ,and that your soul will heal from all that hell. You're so young, only 14. I hope it does not get too bad on you, that you can leave it in the past and have a good life this time around .

Best Wishes
Li La
